Actually, that is kind of false. If you have read Legends:Darkstalker, then you would know that Fathom is an animus and healed Indigo a few moments after she died. If I am incorrect then he healed her while she was in the process of dying.

I remember hosting a roleplay, It was an "Animus academy." In the rules, I stated you could only be the tribes that currently had animi. (SeaWings, NightWings, and SandWings. [JeRboA] ) So, when I was organizing peeps into their roles, I saw a RainWing. I told them RainWings can’t be animi, but they didn’t listen. I repeated it, and they said this: "Well now you have one more hater" and left. Everyone and I burst into laughter. Ik nobody had to hear that, I just wanted to get that out of my system-

She's part of the royal family ( the oldest, i assume), and has skywing blood. She's not only an ANIMUS, but is able to breath LIGHTNING. Yes, you heard me, LIGHTNING. You're welcome for wasting your time

Was she born under 3 moons, or was the animus blood lined? (Idk if animus can be blood lined but I think so correct me if I'm wrong)

I so far only have one Animus OC, Moonwhisper (which is probably enough since being Animus isn’t a very common thing) She was afraid that if the other NightWings found out they would use her and she would lose her mind, so she fled the volcano. Unfortunately, she was captured by the SkyWings and imprisoned. Before she fought, however, my other OCs, Grotto and Jasmine, broke her out. Then they just lived together like best friends. One day, they befriended a firescales dragonet. She was pretty lonely, thanks to her firescales. So Moonwhisper enchanted the firesclale’s armor to grow with her and to not melt, and enchanted her and her friends to be immune to fire. That’s all she wants to do with her powers, though, unless something else important pops up.

Animus dragons technically belong to the night wings and SeaWings cause the last IceWing animus mated with a NightWing and that spread the genome onto NightWings while SeaWings also have it because albatross always had it. SkyWings I’m not sure..IceWings used to have it and currently the only SandWing animus lives in a hut named Jerboa ||

MudWings apparently had it once but lost it somehow... or did they? Burn had a Mudwing corpse who’d supposedly been cursed to have no claws or teeth, and the only possible animi are Turtle and Anemone(who both couldn’t possibly have done it), Orca(not likely, as she hid her magic), Jerboa II(won’t touch her magic) and Stonemover(possible?). Chameleon is also a possibility, via Darkstalker’s scroll. The amount of animi as of current canon is almost certainly 3(Turtle, Stonemover, Anemone) as confirmed by Darkstalker’s spell to summon all animi to him, unless there are secret animi who enchanted themselves to be immune to other animus spells. A hidden animus such as this could have cursed the egg as a personal grudge.

And in Runaways (Winglets), A Princess, SnowFox, Is, Well, A Princess, _Related_ To them. So she has Animus Blood. If there Aren’t Really, Really Any left, Ex-Prince Winter, Queen Snowfall and Narwhal Could Just be Non-Royals, Like The SandWings. Maybe There is a IceWing Animus. I mean, if Arctic had any siblings or if Queen Glacier had any more eggs, they could have mated with more IceWings and further spread the gene so I dunno (Its like those genes where you can have it, but your children don't have it, but the children's children can have animus)

The animus gene is passed to different tribes from mating, if a nightwing and sky wing had a child and the NightWing animus if the offspring continued having eggs with skywings eventually they’ll get a dragonet that resembles a SkyWing but carries the animus gene from the nightwing, then that animus that resembles a skywing continues breeding with other SkyWings then the animus gene has spread to their tribe resulting in some of them being animi.

I currently only have one animus OC, a NightWing named Bloodmoon. She was basically insane before she started using her powers, so doesn't care about how much magic she uses.

I must be honest, I have been coming up with a MudWing-IceWing animus OC. I plan to name her Quail. The backstory is that her a ton of greats grandmother (A princess named Grove) was one of those mythical animus Mud Bois, and and her tons of greats grandfather was a lower-born IceWing (named Brisk). And Quail, you see, happens to be the first more grey-ish MudWing that the tribe's seen in generations. By the doctors, it had been thought Quail had some sort of scale disease. But, nope, she just happened to have a recessive gene pop up by chance.

I’m honestly sad that MudWings never had an animus. And a small critique is that the SkyWings have no animus blood left they killed every animus born and there fore the bloodline couldn’t continue. So they didn’t have any animi after those times, and the IceWings bred out the animus gene on accident.

How though? Did the skywings slaughter EVERYONE related to the animus? Cause then they'd probably have gone extinct if they slaughtered all the animus bloodline. And how did the icewings do so? Wouldn't Diamond have had another dragonet? Or another one in her family had a dragonet. SOMEBODY had to make an Icewing heir of royal blood.

Very helpful information for these who are new in the game and never read the books. I could actually add how to enchant an object: An animus takes any object and just says/ orders it to do anything the animus wants, like- _I enchant this spoon to collect the perfect amount of cereal each time!_ (moonkitti reference lol). It can be any command, anything that the dragon wants (except bringing back to life of course). Also I will add that Dragons believe that the more magic you use, the fast you will lose your soul. So be careful kids even if I don't believe in that. I have pretty much ideas to add to make animus more interesting to use... But it's surly not the place where I should do that. Anyway nice video! :D Keep it up (im secretly watching u 👀)

Awesome vid with helpful info.! I feel like a lot of people overuse animus powers to be OP. It sounds like doing that could cause their OC could go insane. It also makes it annoying for people trying to roleplay with them... especially during fight/battle scenes. I wish people weren't so afraid of losing fights/battles. Giving their dragons unlimited animus powers to avoid losing/"dying" just ruins a lot of potential roleplays.

i have 1 animus oc named hybrid (ik so unoriginal) he is part seawing, part hivewing and part silkwing. he hatched on pantala and was basically hated by everybody because he always ended up messing up his animus enchantments and for a lot of the people who hated him there was just no reason. he was bullied a lot by the other tribes but once they ended up killing both of his parents because they thought 'its their fault this complete idiot exists'. hybrid was horrified so he flew to pyrrhia on his own and also was hated by a lot of dragons their too. at this point he was simply depressed until he met a skywing x sandwing hybrid named drift who helped him

I was playing as a SkyWing and chilling in the throne, being queen I suppose, when she just comes up, says *murders everyone in the room* and then tries to take the throne. I asked her to step down and she just said “YOU CANT HURT ME IM A ANIMUS” so annoying...

I only have one or two animus characters at a time due to how OP they are. Right now, I don't have any (now that I think of it).

This video is cool but I think the animuses going insane should have been featured more prominently. You also got a few facts a little wrong, but good vid!

I try not to make My OC's that have animus abilities op, and I do this by adding a negative effect whenever they use it. Such as when my Nightwing, Voidshade, uses any sort of spell or enchantment, she will become tired depending on how large the spell is. My mudwing Terracotta does have an enchanted horn-ring that allows him to use a healing spell, but as I said before, the larger the task, the more tired they will become. I try to stay away from the whole 'insanity' and 'losing yourself' thing, because I want my current oc's to remain sane. Although, in the future, I may create another OC who is insane and/or power hungry, just to see what it feels like.

WHEN fandom decided to make all their animus ocs super strong mythical beings instead of having some be idiots who dont know how to use their power or what to do with it

Sorry for the late comment! My animus oc is called "Princess Wave" by the name, you know they're a SeaWing. She doesn't use her power much due to the fact that I don't wanna go insane. (She is a good, shy bean U-U) I don't have any interest in having SkyWing Animus, or NightWing animus. Some poeple really go all out when it comes to OCS. Let's say a SkyWing with animus and Firescales existed. They would probably be unstoppable if they were corrupt, and probably needed another FireScales or Animus altogether. NightWings? Worse. A NightWing who can read minds, see the future, and has animus powers. I'm pretty sure this is impossible in this universe but hey, gotta be as OP as you can. Not only with this be TOO OP, they might just be voided or told to barely use their magic. (More likely to tell to use less magic than void. It's 50/50.) Animus' are powerful. Yet, people always use them despite it being RARE. LIKE HARD TO GET? Fun Fact: There are more animus SeaWings than NightWings. In fact, once in a royal rp, we were told to barely use our magic because nobody wanted an Albatross to happen. We agreed and we didn't even use it. I feel like dragonets forgot that Animus' powers are rare to get, and it requires some really rare stuff. Hopefully when IceWings come out there will be less Animus'. I know this comment has been a rant, but it's been noticed by a lot and I'll admit, I'm guilty myself of being obsessed. This comment isn't made for anyone to feel bad. Go ahead! Be whatever as long as you make it fun for everyone else around you! If you're still reading, thanks lol. Have a good day or night! *Darkstalker laughing in the background* I have a night-rain (Glorybringer) oc and she has all 3. Animus, mind reading, and foresight. The way I level her out, is by making it so she can just barely catch VERY strong emotions ( *COUGH* HAWKMOTH *COUGH* ) by mind reading, and for foresight: she just gets feelings of things about to happen (spidey sense, basically), rarely a blurry dream about the future.

Well icewing aren’t exactly animus anymore since the last one prince arctic was killed so they never had a animus in a long time nor the sky wings cause their policy is to kill any animus hatchling before it grows up and dose something but I would like to imagine some escaped the skywings and that price arctic left some animus icewings somewhere.

1:18 The best part about that is that that limitation only barely exists, because in book 10 darkstalker enchants fierceteeth to be clearsight so you could theoretically say: "I enchante (object) to be (dragon) 1 minute before they died, but unable to die in that way again" and boom you've brought the dragon back to life and they won't instantly die

Actually, they CAN bring dragons back from the dead. We know this because in book 10 Tui was going to have there been a zombie ClearSight, but decided against it. It just hasn't been done YET. And at this time point in the series, it will never be possible ever again.

Nope. It probably gets revealed later on, or they keep it secret like Turtle or Orca.

For anyone sorting through the new comments: Really, any tribe could be an animus! Genetics do exists, and hybrid do have children! After all, any animus we see in series is going to be part something, be it a very very little sliver (example: Sunny. Dominately part SandWing, resseively part NightWing, and thanks to her family line, the tiniest part IceWing too). So, feel free to make any animus oc from any tribe, just know that they techinally wouldn't be 100% that tribe!

Aren' t these just suggestions as to what an animus dragon could do, in theory, if you wanted it to? I didn't read the vid to mean that these were the exact things that happened in the books. If you roleplay with an animus you could give them any of these powers, since an animus can do anything except bring dragons back from the dead. You don't necessarily have to stay true to canon. Maybe it would actually be better not to.

I think an OC IceWing could be an animus. It is thought that all animus dragons are descended from IceWings, so it wouldn't be a stretch to say that your IceWing OC inherited those traits.

Fun fact; SeaWings have a better chance at being an Animus than any other tribe, this hasn’t been confirmed yet, it’s just a theory of mine. Think about it though, we’ve seen a lot more SeaWing Animus than other tribes.

@@Anaea Not true? Some tribes don't have animus blood, which makes the competition easier for SeaWings. SeaWing animus also appear more in the series, and lets not forget Turtle's book. It claims that Turtle gave anemone animus magic so he wouldn't be noticed as much. Nightwings have a small chance of being animus, but so do sandwings, Tui claims that Sunny will be getting a partner in the next book or so. Crazy wack, Right? But however, not all tribes have animus in their blood. The listed tribes are IceWings, RainWings, SkyWings (probably do have animus blood but im still trying to figure it out), and Mudwings. (Still trying to figure that out too). Animus dragons are also really rare, so if the whole tribe was tested I doubt there would be any. Animus dragons figure out they're animus either in their younger ages, and if they ever need a Animus dragon the plot would make some.

I mean, if the roleplay is set in the far future, you could have animuses in all the tribes. But, that is situational. Also, SandWings barely count

Skywings do not have animus dragons. Icewings may be the root of all animus dragons, because all the current animus dragons all lead back to an icewing father (Albatross, Darkstalker) Idk about Jerboa though Icewings probably still have animus blood, they’ve just been really unlucky. Winter may have had a spec of animus blood in him.

I think it’s also worth noting that animus powers are genetic, and therefore could potentially appear in any tribe through crossbreeding.

My only (who was born with it)animus OC is a seawing named Dolphin. She lived during the scorching and was in the royal family. She soon went insane and tried to kill her brother, Angler, who had no animus magic. He was weak and vulnerable until their other brother, Shark, who had animus magic protected Angler. Shark had artificial animus magic, meaning Dolphin enchanted him to have it. Soon Dolphin was encased in stone and was kept there, seen as a statue. She now broke out at present time (she didn't age in the stone) and is terrorizing every sea-wing she sees. (And maybe other dragons)

Technically RainWings now have an opportunity to get the animi gene because they share their home with NightWings, which are a prime carrier of it. Though they still would have to be a hybrid of a tribe carrying the gene (in this case, nightwing) or a distant relative of one

i think imma make a animus outta mah oc since my main oc katy (i dont really play other ocs then her) is a witch (sorta race since she's out a universe where witches are a race) and clearly has magic since she's a witch,so thanks for making me discover about animus's since i havent read the books yet

yesterday, i saw a dragon with a bio like this (note that it was a skywing): animus fire scales can control fire magic can kill anybody the pure example of a mary sue

Unless your roleplay takes place when Icewings, Seawings, and Sandwings were the only tribes with animus dragons, I advise against making your animus OC an Icewing. Icewings are good enough, they don't need "frostscales" or animus powers, they have freezing death breath, can survive the cold, have serrated and sharp claws, and look cool.

Not gonna lie, I never made an animus oc! I once met another fan that showed me their ocs. Nearly every. Single. One. Was an animus/firescales/royalty/super overpowered. yup.

Aren't there animus hive wings? Cause the queen would stab eggs making them under her control?(I think her name was queen wasp)

Angelica The SeaWing idk-I’ve never thought of it that way-

I have a Night/Leaf OC named Rosethorn who had a father (NightWing) that was born with animus magic and was "double moon-born". Rosethorn and his brother hatched on a brightest night and Rosethorn... had literally nothing. Hatching under *3 full moons* and having no sign of mind-reading, visions (these two absences were a huge shock to his father), animus powers, nor leafspeak (which his mom has)... very unusual, but it's always nice to have that one character that's unusually normal when circumstances should've made said character stupidly OP. If I were to join as him (have yet to actually do anything in Roblox due to things ruining my week), this strange normalness could actually be an interesting talking point... and he will say how normal he is despite the circumstances every chance he gets as a massive "Screw off" to his never-present (I will NOT RP as Rosethorn's father nor brother for obvious reasons) father.

Actually, animus dragons can do almost anything! Not just the things you listed, my favourite dragon with animus power has to be darkstalker, because he makes the most of his power more than any other animus. I wish I was an animus irl.

Everything makes sense but one thing The icewings Dark stalkers dad was an animus icewing and he made lots of spells in his life, that’s what confused me XD overall amazing video! :3

In the 5th book, Stone mover (a animus) almost turned into rocks and in cording the 5th book, a animus can curse dragons before they hatch, animus-touched dragons usually look strange, but some dragons that look like animus-touched are hybrids like Sunny, she does not have a poisonous barb, because she is half nightwing (read the 5th book for proof)

Ice Wings lost their Animus bloodline after their prince left, around Darkstalkers time. The only thing an Animus can't do is bring someone back to life. Edit: I've read the books so many times I know practically everything, and besides Darkstalker, there were no known Animus dragons in the Night Wing tribe

Mabye do a vid about other special abilities. Probably fire scales or sundews leaf speak

I have a three moons nightwing named gentleclaws so if you didn't know nightwings if they hatch under one moon they rather get mind reading or future seeing if the hatch under two moons they get both and if they hatch under three they get those powers and maybe Animus magic so I have a very gentle and kind version of darkstaker

I didn't really read the books, but I love dragons, so I got extra Robux to play wings of fire, people talking about certain characters. I never have a clue what exactly they are saying. XD Now at least I know what animus means now thankssss!
