    It doesn't work for me... First of 'effect' isn't even there, had to get cutter from node library, and when I actually applied my duplicate layer as a mask it didn't change anything except the opacity. The shadow didnt cut neither out or in the character... I'm confused

    a great way to do this is shading with a completely solid color and then lowering the whole layer's opacity! gives room for details!

    Question, how do you get smooth strokes? I know how to make smooth lines with the brush tool, and it looks great, but whenever I want to shade, I usually use the stroke tool. The problem is that my stokes are all wobbly and not smooth while my line art is fine. So how do I smooth my strokes like it has more control?

  • @TheDiscoNarwhal

    Like the brush tool, the stroke tool has a smoothing feature, although it works a little differently. I would try fiddling with the "smoothness" setting in the tool options. I usually have mine around 3 or 4 but I recommend experimenting with it. Too little and your lines can look wobbly, too much and you lose precision.

    Ah, thanks. I was not aware that there was a smoothness control! Now I know what I'm doing haha!

    For frame by frame animation is it better to use mask shading or using the stroke tool to shade?

  • @TheDiscoNarwhal

    Force Animations It sort of depends on what you're doing. This method can get a little tough with complicated shapes. I think I would generally personally prefer the stroke tool just because it's simpler, but it also takes more planning. This method is most useful with something like my silly walk animation, which has a shape (the woman's body) that is separated into sections of different color my clothing, but the shadows are all uniform and should affect them in the same way. This also makes it so you can go back and add shadow into an already completed animation which is nice. It's really just a matter of opinion though.

    Does the cutter work with areas inside stroke lines? I can't trim lines that go beyond the stroke. For example, make a TV from lines, and inside an image from lines. And that the image was inside the screen. How to do it? Only by hand or is there a way?

  • @TheDiscoNarwhal

    @TheDiscoNarwhal

    7 жыл бұрын

    Hmm, that's strange, it should keep the same frame rate, but yes there is a way to change it. In the "export to quicktime movie" window, click "movie options" at the bottom. Then in the "movie settings" window under the video section, click settings. Then in the "Standard video compression settings" window under the motion section, there will be a drop-down menu for frame rate where you can select the frames per second.
