This is a great tutorial, thank you so much for putting this together! I'm just getting started with Da Vinci Resolve, and the "Fusion" page has been a bit of a mystery to me, but you've really helped me see how I can use it for my own videos now. I'm excited to play around more with Fusion now that your video has shown me several important fundamentals! Thanks again!

My Resolve skill level is probably 1.5 on your 1-3 skillset, but this is a whole new level. The separate fushion comps for each animation really make sense so things aren't all bound together and cluttered. Awesome video, will have to practice this one and see if I can duplicate it. tyvm.

I like the way you get to the point where I think, "Looks good" then you add more and I respond with "Now what's he doing?" after a few more I realise if I had figured out the first part then I would have been happy with 'Almost good', and that is why you have this channel, not me. Thank you.

Great googely moogely, I've been doing fusion comps all wrong. I've been handling all the timing within the fusion comp. It never occurred to me to just have whatever thing start at the beginning of the comp and then move the comp to where I wanted in the edit page.

I really enjoyed learning how to animate stuff in resolve. I knew it was possible but didn't know the method. Hoping to try and create something with what I learned. I would suggest for more of this type of content maybe taking some elements of animation you've seen in popular media. I think a good basic one might be recreating the cowboy bebop intro but make it have footage of Casey doing serious editing stuff, drinking coffee, other fitting stuff like the actual intro. The whole 1:30 min thing might take a few episodes but something like that would make a great series to get people involved and learning along. Would be pretty cool if you could get people posting their own after the series!

Hey Casey. I have a question.. lets say you want to use a video clip of some motion graphics as a template in fusion, and build a copy on the top. How do you add it to a node temporarily to guide you frame by frame, so that you can switch its visibility on and off as required in the nodes? Thanks for all the tuts!

Can you please help explain how I can do this thank you so much in advance.

Is there a way to turn that button interactive? So you could implement a Subscribe Button or a "Skip Intro-Button" or something like that into your video that actually can be clicked on and does the thing it`s supposed to do.

I thought of another question (sorry for the barrage) .. If I create a simple fusion composition with a text style.. and I use it multiple times throughout my sequence, can I change a 'master' version of the comp ie font or colour, and have it filter through to all instances? That would be nice.

How can I save this animation for later. Because when I will render it to use it another project it will have the gradient as a the background. Also I have used lumakeyer in fusion and in color tab to remove the backgrounds but it doesn't work that great. I lose clarity of the object.

of course mine works differently to Caseys one so I am unable to do this.. brilliant when I try and connect the render to the background, it litterally connects to the background node and doesnt create a merge node like on his... so then I put in a merge node manually but then my rectangle stays see through.. does not go white... I have the newest version 18.6.4 Studio... why is it doing this?

Man I would love to make the switch from buggy After Effects to a better solution. I have about 15+ years experience in AE but this (Fusion) method of doing motion graphics looks way more time-consuming to create such a simple effect. Again, don't get me wrong, I would love to get better and more reliable software that is not crashing all the time, but this is still not convincing me to switch. If you have about 50 layers in AE, that already looks messy, I can imagine how a fusion node flow would look like. Good explanation video btw, I hope you can understand my points.
