ANIMATE LIGHT STRENGTH in LUMION! On/Off or Dim Lights!

Ғылым және технология

I was playing around with this feature lately and I realized there was quite a few things that could be done with the animate light effect if you set the color to black. If the red/blue/green colors are all set to 0, the color will be black and no matter the strength of you light object it will not emit light. You can turn all of the channels up to max to have the light come through. This allows you to flip lights on/off or dim the lights!

    Animated Phasing would do this pretty well too, but creative solution as well. Making me want to revisit my rainbow animated light test I did when this effect first came out.

    It can have a very similar effect, the only difference in this workflow is it can turn on more gradually. The downside to that though is you can see the light sort of crawling down the wall. I think animated phasing becomes better the more light nodes in your scene. This one had 12-13 effects to make it work and that is really not time effective for projects. I appreciate you checking out the video!

    I actually didn’t know until fairly recently! I know they just added the ability to add more than 1 variation for certain effects so they may not have been possible until the last few Lumion. Thanks again for checking out the video!

    @@LuminousLabs it must have slipped under my radar. Glad you made this tut. On a separate note, could you share the best way to import sketchup models into unreal engine properly uv unwrapped. I found that the auto unwrap of datasmith isnt very efficient. Is there any way to maybe bring it into blender and unwrap whole scene?

    @@LuminousLabs agreed man - we do a lot of product imagery, and having the light animation as a bit of a “reveal” is a nice effect.

    No problem Mr.J! As Chris Welton mentioned in the comments you can do a similar effect with animated phasing but this method lets you have the light gradually come in.

    You should definitely try D5 Render. How Lumion at the price point it demands doesn't have real time raytracing with support for DLSS now is beyond me.

  • @LuminousLabs

    The real-time ray-tracing part I can somewhat understand, but they need DLSS now. I am planning on making a video where my business partner and I both download D5/Enscape/Twinmotion and use them for an 1-1.5 hours to see what quality we can out of them. Even though we do Arch-viz all the time I feel like having such a short timeframe will give us a good idea of how easy it is to navigate the software.

    You’re right it does for this one, the only difference is you can make the lights fade in. There’s a few ways to go about this one, Chris Welton had mentioned using animated phasing as well

    one more question . how to create custom real sky or add file Hdri in lumion ?

  • @LuminousLabs

    @LuminousLabs

    3 жыл бұрын

    Unfortunately the best you can do is adding in an HDRI sphere and then using real skies behind it. There is no way to add in custom ones. I will say though I think this way is actually better as you get more control over the horizon line and also the colors in the HDRI. kzread.info/dash/bejne/nY6YksqThtbPqJs.html
