Give your fossils to your villagers. After you know what they are, wrap them and give them as gift. You have 10% of receiving the villager picture. Plus, even if you already gave them the same fossils, it raises their friendship level super quickly. And the villager never display them so you don't have to worry about ruining their home.

doesn’t their interior start to change tho? i know the big fossils won’t be placed but i read that sometimes gifts will overwrite their other furniture meaning they’ll stop placing a certain furniture ?

@@dumbyoshi1519 Yeah if it's e.g. a 1×1 fossil they'll place it in their house. That's why most people present the hanging terrarium. Villagers don't put that in their house and it gives the max friendship points

At one point I opened up my island to my kids (11 and 4yrs). When our first villager wanted to leave I told him to go, but my kids were sad. Eventually my son came up, smiling from one ear to the other. "Dad, I told him to stay!" Oh these happy memories when playing as a family. 😉😂

Didn't know most of these! I had a meteor shower not long after the games release and earned the Nook Miles achievement for wishing on 300 stars in that night, fair to say i was disappointed when i received 20 star pieces in return 😂

A tip I learnt recently: if you hold the A button you’ll keep swimming, you don’t need to repeatedly press the A button. It has its own animation too, where the character is just kicking their legs without moving their arms.

You also don’t even need to hold down the left joystick for the direction. You’ll keep going in the same direction until you change it! I found that out accidentally when I let go and assumed I would stop swimming 😂

meh best method is to give fruits but make sure you’re inventory is full. That way they will send their gift to your home. I’ve had a lot of success getting their photos this way. It’s cheaper than buying furniture and much easier

Now that my fossil collection is complete, I just give wrapped, large fossils. Free (aside from the wrapping paper) and it gets you max points. Large fossils are best though because they won't display them!

Ariesmonique I don’t know the exact reason behind it but I know when you cant carry any other items, the gift they have for you is sent in the mail the next day and this method has worked the best for me.

If you accidentally tell a villager to move, immediately force close the game(don't save & end) & restart it. The thought bubble will reappear.

Lori Kodama Force quitting is the first method you listed(Going to the Switch Home Page and pressing “X” to force close the game.) Pressing the power button is pretty much equivalent to just putting it on sleep mode. :)

I know that ppl say to immediately turn off the power button if you're doing a trade with someone and they are stealing from you, because it will disconnect both players and the transaction will have not been completed.

Octavian is actually the only villager I’ve accidentally hit with my net (he sidled up right when I was swinging at a bug). He gave me this like, side eye and started moving away quickly and I ran after him to talk to him, I thought the game would give me a dialog option to apologize but no, the convo was normal. But I felt weird after it, lol.

I'm so glad that New horizons doesn't let the villagers change their minds about leaving like in New leaf. I remember trying to get Tipper to leave my New leaf town, and being so happy when she FINALLY said she wanted to move only to have her change her mind a couple of days later.

I hated that But it made me love my once most hated villager since I was forced to keep him. Then the next time he said “I’m thinking about moving” I was like...you know what...Stay! Anyway, yeah I’m glad they move out sooner and don’t go “aCtUaLlY i ChAnGeD mY MiNd”

I've saved my 7 year old sister a few tears with the second account trick, but last time they was already in boxes and it was her favourite so I had to kick one of mine out to keep him safe for her :(( at least she wasnt sad anymore though!

One thing about villagers leaving is that they may move in to a friends island and with some dialogue about your island. They even remember you when you reunite with them on your friends island. I thought it was a cute little detail

Holy cow yes! I just got a switch and my daughter's old villager moved onto my island. Weirdest thing ever! She mentioned her village name. And then when she came to visit my island the villager was like wow! Guess what! I live here now!

I was sharing my island with my spouse when it first came out, she didnt like 2 of my villagers and wanted them to move. I was fine with it. By the time she recieved her own game, those villagers she didnt like moved to her island. It was rather funny. THEN one of them moved BACK to my island. Just cant shake the guy. I dont mind him actually. But i find it funny.

My son is the primary and I play on “his” island. I have over 300 hours played, he has 30. He gave the very last fossil and completed that part of the museum and Blathers thanked him for all of his hard work! Lol I’m not sad though. I am loving the game as it’s the first AC that I’ve played.

I've been doing this for a while now, wrapping them as a gift and then giving them to villagers. I've managed to get about 5 villager photos so far.

The acorn barnacle has a similar shadow size to the pearl, so be warned. The acorn barnacle is far more common.

There was one day where as soon as I got a pearl for the first time from Pascal, I found four more within the hour. It might just be luck, but I've been finding a good amount of pearls when I make laps around the island. (Though to be fair, it's the fastest way I've been making bells; one lap around my island diving, I can make 20-30+ thousand bells, depending on my pocket space.)

Me: *catches a pearl everyday* Also me after watching this video: I just lucky orrr....?

heres a few things about villagers moving out. ninji did some datamining and found that the chance of moving out is based on the equation (v * 5) + c v - the amount of villagers on your island. c - the amount of days since a villager asked to move out. a villager wont ask to move out if: - it was their birthday in the past 7 days. - if theyre moving homes. - if they were the villager who asked to move at last time and was told to stay. - theyre the newest villager to move in. - if someone left the island 15 (or less) days ago. - if the c variable is less than 5. the chances of a specific villager leaving *can* be increased by lowering their friendship (hitting them with a net, giving them trash, etc.) hopefully this helps, and feel free to correct me or add on if i missed something !

Fossil. I haven't found that golden trout. Yes, I'm waaay past 100 fish! I'm in the Northern hemisphere and I know it's after 4pm when they appear. I haven't swam for the new sea creatures yet. I got the nautilus on my last dive, but haven't tried for the others. I got bored of swimming after I collected all possible items from Pascal.

That trick with accidently kicking a villager out and then getting them to stay is news to me. Thanx!! Fossil!!

I’ve been playing since GameCube, DS, 3DS, and now switch since release. I’ve watched a few of your videos and always found them helpful, even as a seasoned player. Even this video I learned about the second villager stopping them from moving. Awesome! You make great videos. Oh, and “Fossil” 😊

Fossil! I started playing in late April, and only need 2 bugs to complete my catalog and something like 7-8 fish left to complete that one. I think they have made catching everything so much easier on this version of AC. Also they have “watered” down the villagers personalities, which I miss greatly. All so you do the crafting, collecting and socializing with other players more. Thanks for the frag info! I just recently had my first announced shooting star event, and was shook at how many frags I had the next day.

BEST FRIENDS, Fossil. I did not know these, but I am definitely using the fossil trick. I've completed the dinosaur section of my museum. Plus maybe I can do something fun with the dig spots for decoration.

I wish on shooting stars all the time, but only about 5 spawn at a time and the next day I find no star fragments. Now I guess because you have to wish on 20 stars. Good to know. Very kewl, also did you know after a villager moves out they leave items in the drop off box, sometimes an item you gifted them or something from their house. I had Julian move out on two occasions and he left two different zodiac items in there! Keep an eye out😏

Fossil. I have kept islanders from moving, but I swear they aren't the same afterward. In particular, they weren't as excited about gifts like before, and no matter how hard I tried they wouldn't provide their picture. Eventually I selected them to move away by using an Amiibo.

I accidentally let Tipper go from my island, but then when I went onto a mystery island to look for someone new she was the first villager I found!! I was so happy!!

I have all of Pascal's recipes and items (dresses, shoes, crown, etc.). If you don't have a large supply of pearls while he's handing out recipes and items, you will shortly thereafter as those are all he hands out after you have everything else.

Okay, I didn't know any of these expect the one secret about the pearls.^^ But I am rather curious why putting your diving suit on through your magical wand is working for you while it didn't let me do it, because it's a tool. Might try it again. 🤔

I was actually scooping up my star fragments from my heavy meteor shower from the night before while watching this video. Found 19 star fragments and 4 Virgo fragments. Does the 20 star fragment limit not include the zodiac fragments? Usually I make sure to get at least 20 wishes in on heavy showers, but I may need to up that to 30 or so.

You can bury up to $10,000 in the glowing hole and get a money tree sprout. in a few days, the money tree will have 3x of whatever amount you buried. it only gives money once, so you can cut it down when it's done.

Tip: You can make A bell-bag Tree By Digging up holes with golden stuff and if it gives you 1,000 bells bury the thousand bells back and the ground And it will start growing a tree Specifically a money Tree

Tip: When you upgrade Nook's cranny You can get A elephant watering can Which will allow you to Water more plants at the same time!

I find the extra fossils are nice pocket change, and sometimes give a hefty amount of bells

I learned a fun thing today! If you have someone visiting your campsite but no new plots they will tell you they don’t want to live on your island. Keep harassing them and they’ll play a little game with you and give you free stuff if you win.

I feel lucky that I deep dived and caught two pearls back to back one time.... then pascal giving me another pearl giving me 3 total. :3 I love pascal, so cute!!!! :3 ❤

About stoping a villager on moving. The second player only works when it has previously talked with them. I use my second player from time to time and when I tried stopping Skye moving out, since it was the first time they talked, she didn't ask my 2nd player but just introduced herself :(

1:37 According to datamine, villagers who are less friendly to you will be more likely to move out, just not guaranteed. Though, if they're your NEWEST villager, they are supposed to not be able to move. fossil.

Another tip for your next episode: If you put a custom design on an in-game one (like the brick path), it takes the form of the in-game one (the brick path if you took that one)

diving is how i earn most my money (a full inventory of critters usually gets me close to 30,000) so i have quite a few perls

If your friend has a meteor shower the same night you do, you can get 20 stars for your island, 20 stars for them wishing on 100 stars on your island, and then another 20 for wishing on 20 stars on their island (of course, you should wish on 100--they just did that for you). I don't know if that means that if you have a third friend, you get get an additional 20 for their wishes on your island and yet another additional 20 for your wishes on their island. That would be a lot of beach cleaning.

just put furniture everywhere and anywhere! furniture you both buy and make. it doesnt have to look pretty. it just gives u points

I kept on finding the three of the rarest beetles on the palm trees and they kept on flying off. This included when I sneaked towards them and walked very slowly with my net. I've completed my fossil section and almost have completed my fish section. The art section is taking a while but hopefully will complete it in a year or so.

I wanted a villager to move out and when he finally asked me if he could I accidentally told him to stay. I closed the game before autosave fell through and when I reopened it, the villager had the thought bubble again and I could tell him to leave. so this way it kinda does work the other way round, too.

I’ve gotten every single bug but still need some fishies. Also, I like to give fossils to my residents as gifts! It helps get that picture from then a little bit faster. Of course, get them appraised first and then wrap them. 🎁

Pascal also gives some mermaid clothing items (as someone who has gotten two variants of mermaid shoes and like 11 pearls and 2 diys...)

I have had way different results from a LONG night of star gazing (wishing), I will have to try to do a very structured night and see if we can replicate these results.

Like the fossil trick. My biggest problem is too much stuff. I just realized I could get rid of most of it and buy it back anytime I want. I currently have more money than I know what to do with. Now I think I’ll just give the lot away. Except for the Nook miles items.

Once you say the villager can or cant leave, if you immediately turn off your game without saving it or going into a new screen then you will reset it. I also will do this without answering them and within the next say or two you will have someone new ask to leave.

I don’t get why people don’t want fossils to spawn, even after you finish you fossil exhibit. You can sell them to Timmy and Tommy and make a pretty decent profit. Just today I found a fossil I didn’t already have and sold it for over 4,000 bells :)
