Match of the clay season so far! The speed of Rome is similar to RG and it’s been cool to see so many rallies in general at this tournament. Kalinina is so talented and really excited to see her thru.

The Game Of The Year without a doubt. For the dedication, intensit and wonderful atmosphere that these two players admired on the court. It all ended in a hug and a lot of tears from the two contestants. It's good for tennis. Congratulations, Beatriz Haddad Maia and Anhelina Kalinina.

I wanted to cry too as she finished. She was unstoppable and fighted for every game tenaciously. This showed that Kalinina is a tough player. I am so happy for her to get to the semifinals. Great play also for Haddad Maia. The match was unbelievable.

Always felt alone with that sentiment; not anymore. Her approach and demeanor, which makes her so likeable as you pointed out--puts her in a totally different league than her compatriots.

Beating BHM often turned out to be a curse. She's so hard to beat whoever beat her was usually gassed by the next match and went on to lose. Just this year it's happened to Cirstea in Dubai, Raducanu in IW, Ostapenko in Miami, Jabeur in Stuttgart. Let's see if Kalinina can escape the curse. I have my doubts, I think she's spent.

@RAnonanon exatamente! Aconteceu também com a Paula Badosa em 12 de janeiro contra a BHM em Adelaide International 2. Na partida seguinte, a Badosa deu WO contra Kasatkina (ela alegou cansaço e lesão muscular) isso a eliminou do Australian Open. As partidas da BHM são muito intensas e exige muito esforço físico das adversárias.

Se vc acompanha tênis, sabe que alguns tenistas usam esses recursos pra esfriar o adversário, né ? Curiosamente, ela voltou e virou o set pra 7x6. A " lesão " não a impediu de virar o primeiro set, jogar o segundo e o terceiro. Perdeu na bola. Sempre ficam procurando desculpas pra Bia, mas a real é que ela não tem bola pra esse ranking.

This match was like a boxing match where HM looked to always be leading on points and winning the match until she took a near knock out punch yet managed to hang on to the ropes to stay the distance in the last one or two rounds.

It is really cool but the grunting was not -- the grunting as usual has suspicious motivations ( as in purposeful distraction) and detracts from the play with the unpleasant sound.

@@57too well, from what i see now she is mainly loosing final, she did 5 final in the last 2 month and she lost 3 time out of 5, not really that dominant....an example, Medvedev is dominating now....saying this cause Iga is amazing but i don t think is " that amazing", not even close to a player as Serena or Sharapova...also , Iga is totally rubbish on grass....we ll see but i think Iga is a bit overrated
