We had a neighbor that tore down our privacy fence, so he could build a chain link fence that would not restrict his view. I told him to stop, he called me some names and came at me with board. The privacy fence was repaired long before he got out of the hospital, in court he got to pay for it.

Update: After ignoring the order to tear down the building by July 2017, the matter was taken to the High Court. He lost in his attempt to keep the leisure centre because he had basically ignored the planning rules that were the law where he lived. As of November 2018 he is being given a court ordered time table that he MUST follow to remove the building completely. The court has stated that he cannot appeal the directive. He is facing over £30,000 in court costs and £750,000 in tear-down costs. The video shown here is when he illegally tore down a fence that his neighbor built so that the neighbor didn't have to look at the ugly exterior of the leisure centre. Graham Wildin seemed to think that his money allowed him to do whatever he wanted with no regard to the law.

The most up to date reference I can find for this ongoing problem is from 7th July. He had been ordered to demolish the structure by that date, but hadn't even started and was still insisting that he would defend his 'right' to leave it in court. There aren't any indications that the police have been involved in the criminal damage, trespass or assault. I can only assume that they've wimped out and let him get away with it. Considering that the offender is stinking rich, I wouldn't be surprised if the local plod advised against bringing charges against him.

Boundaries, the easiest way to fall out with your neighbour. I have an idiot that thinks without consulting with me he can tear down my fence panels and replace them, its my boundary, I paid for the original fence, way long before he moved in, and its on my deeds. He's got a big fat surprise coming when my contractor turns up and rips the lot down, as is my right, and replaces it with post and wire, much more sociable:)!

My neighbour tore my beautiful hedge down without my permission and then it trying to replace it with an ugly 5 foot fence. If it's in your deeds you have a case I believe. It may seem unimportant to some but for me my garden and the beautiful hedge were my sanctuary (were good for my mental health due to trauma). I no longer enjoy sitting in it and haven't got the money to replace the hedge. I believe he should replace it according to the legal advice I got but I am still waiting for the reinstatement (after the deadline i gave). The issue with this video as we do not know his side and what she might have done and what the point of putting it on youtube is if you are a genuine person (this should be private and only for legal purposes). We also don't know her behavior when she put the video down.

In the time you stood there recording, the cops could have been there and told him to stop until it went to court.

The second he threw anything in your direction it was assault. It is immediately and without hesitation or reservation, you needed to place him under citizens arrest. He would of resited, as you can see, and at that point you could of put him down real hard on his face, holding/subduing him until Law Enforcement arrives. You can use as much force as needed, including deadly force if he attacks/threatens your life, or the life of another. In some location, he could be made right for just attacking your property. Stand up for yourself and stop letting these twats get away with these types of things.

I wasnt able to find a recent update, but looks like the council have been after him since at least 2014 to take down the structure. Its always best to consult a neighbour before errecting a new fence else you can create arguments. If you are lucky you might be able to get them to pay half :) In this case the guy seems to be an asshat, so the fence might have been retaliation for his construction disruption. Looks like his building may have caused land slip on the womens property. Probably best solution is to get estimate for the repair claim on your insurance and let your insurance company sue him Another way to deal with it would be to just stand in the way and let him assault you in the process of the fence coming down then off to prison he shal go. Understandble why the women probably wasnt keen on that though :)

There's a literal forest behind him, and he's worried about this ONE property that abuts like 15 meters of it? That's nuckin' futs.

With the money you'll get from the lawsuit, you'll be able to have a contractor put up a fence that won't be so easy to take down!

Build a reinforced concrete wall there with 1" thick metal alloy sheathing and embedded anchors. Or rebuild the wooden fence, but also build another retaining fence 2' behind it. Fill up all the space in-between with loose, very fine gravel to a height of 6 to 8 feet. Or build an electrified fence there.

The concrete wall would require planning permission, which is a whole hassle in itself. Would take months to process and requires permission from neighbours (including this guy). The double fence with gravel in the middle isn't really that much more difficult to tear down. The electrified fence would be illegal.

All the articles I read never even confirm whether or not it was built on their property, or what happens next. All I get is that Wildin claims that the fence was slightly on their property, whilst the other party claims their deed states otherwise.

It's classed as civil not crimal law so the police don't have jurisdiction you have to take it to a civil law court.
