Narn maybe I've missed something, but I haven't seen any broken promises. From January to May, Joe kept his promise of releasing 2 angry reviews a month and even on set day unless he communicated otherwise before hand. He even went so far as to forsake his creative ideas for the Injustice 2 review when things went wrong just so that he could deliver on the video.

It totally boggles my mind how people can flip their shit and totally go berserk over _FREE_ entertainment.

He's overworked, stressed out and sick of dealing with people's bullshit. If you actually watch his videos he talks about working 80 hours weeks and having no life outside of KZread. Imagine working like that and then having your work dismissed by a bunch of careless fuckwits who are impossible to please. That would have a serious impact on anyone's psychological state. I see this hiatus from reviews as Joe giving himself some time to recharge, which he needs.

I get 6 weeks a year, plus 11 banks holidays and a handful of charity days. Most of Europe does. On top of that I can take up to 12 months on a career break. So, no, our arses wouldn't be fired. I'm assuming you're American and enjoy the ridiculous attitude to work you've all built up for yourselves? I lived in the US for 7 years by the way so saw it first hand.

Joe's always struck me as a sincere guy. That's what I liked about him when I watched his content. I think it's kind of bullshit when the guy is taking a vacation and is still willing to work on vacation but he gets shit on anyway. Guys, if a normal person takes a 2 month vacation, they're not doing shit but taking a vacation. Joe's meeting his audience halfway here and a handful of clowns are spitting in his face. I kind of understand him lashing out at that.

As a content creator who has tried making low quality content because of my inability to create the higher quality stuff, I find it AMAZING that youtubers like Joe and yourself Boogie can put out videos at even such a quick pace. I find myself getting bogged down and quickly find that there's a lot of things that take a lot of time and effort. Then, when my video actually hits my channel, it gets little to no views because of the algorithm, and it gets a bit discouraging, but t just makes me appreciate you guys even more since I know you guys put in a lot of effort for your work. The fact that Joe is taking a break from the Angry Reviews is honestly fine in my opinion. He's still putting out the side content, and it's not Ike he's just going on a hiatus from everything (I waited for JonTron to post a new video for literal years) so I can imagine needing to take a bit of a break after doing those reviews for so long. My creativity would be totally tapped out after so long.

Honestly I speak for a very small minority of people who think that Angry Joe deserves this break, he's worked non stop for 9 years with no "proper" breaks. I believe the man is burnt out on angry reviews which is why he's been doing movie reviews for the past 2 years or so. However I think the backlash he has received is extremely unnecessary. I think after this break he will be back Better than ever and we all just need to be patient.

AJ is a performer...From That Guy With the Glasses and Channel Awesome to his AJ Show, he's always put out quality content for what his channel is known for. The issues isn't just the fans, but AJ has to relize sure you can pad your channle with GOT, Movie Reviews, Lets Plays, Twitch Recaps, Dev Interviews, and Games media coverage galore. However I think a core part of his fanbase, myself included really only watch his Angry Reviews thereby ignoring the rest of his content and thus probabley hurting his income and pist off he can't just make all this other content be relevant with name recognition alone. For myself ACG is the best for universal gaming reviews, TB is great for all PC related gaming and port reports, Golden Harpy/Nerd Soup for GOT content, Movie Bob for Movie reviews, Jim Sterling for Games Media, Funhaus for sketch comedy and demo disk, The list goes on for quality content spread among all Tubers. Sometimes it really just sounds like AJ wants to be the one stop shop for all gaming related media when most ppl just stay for the Angry Reviews. After watching his video on the topic I'm just confused. Do people really watch his Angry Review to help with purchases for new games? I would never, you know how many games he gave a "Bad Ass Seal of Approval" that you can find in a dumpster bin? Seriously AJ is Performer, a great performer and maybe he needs to stop being such a martyr to his fans and maybe his fans need to read up on games if there's no Angry Review or idk....look at other Tubers who do it beter w/o 30min of slapstick and hijinks.

I don't see what's wrong with Angry Joe not making videos.

KZreadrs need to learn a simple lesson: It's easier to ask forgiveness than permission if you need a break, TAKE A BREAK, then come back and let your audience know what happened. you don't need their support to take a break, but you WILL get their hate if you ask for that support.

No matter the KZreadr this is a bad idea. You disappear for two months with no warning as far as the internet is concerned you're dead. Especially if you had a schedule you suddenly dropped. You will hemorage fans, it shows out right that you don't care. All the fans need is an update, this Angry Joe issue is nothing to do with him taking time off, I have the same issues with his content that a lot of people do but time off isn't one of them.

Boogie, I understand you're a very popular KZreadr but this is the first video of yours I've seen. I appreciate the level-headed and rational stance you've taken on this issue. I'm not subscribed to Angry Joe or your channel, but I heard about this issue and I agree with your stance. I imagine the pressure a content creator must face in attempting to please an audience (especially one as large as he and you seem to have) must be ridiculous. Even if it is a business for a creator it is one that they own and they can decide to do with. If others don't like it then they have a choice to (or not to) view, like, or subscribe as they wish. I will be subscribing to Angry Joe because I like all of his content but also because I support his decision to do what he wants. I will also be subscribing to your channel because I appreciate your perspective and want to see more of your work. Thank you.

As a tattoo artist, I get burnt out from time to time with the constant drawing all day and night and then tattooing and then sometimes get stuck doing some lame tattoos like names and infinity symbols,etc. So I see where Joe is coming from. He's burnt out. Let him have his vacation. When I took mine, I came back with a fresh mind and excitement to get to to what I do best. I admit, I'm sad that there won't be an angry review anytime soon (though I hope he makes one for Destiny 2 when it comes out) and I'm not a fan of his movie reviews unless it's a movie I really want to see, but I won't bash him for it. Like he said, it was stupid to plan things out way ahead of time and tell us about it. He should have just kept that plan between him and his crew and if it didn't come out as planned, we'd be none the wiser. I hope though that he gets to relax and wind down and come back well rested and ready to tackle the KZread world again.

Speaking of James Rolfe, I met him in 2015. Retro Games Con, Syracuse, NY.

I wish people knew that there's other gaming reviewers out there that put effort and passion into their reviews like Angry Joe. Take ACG (AngryCentaurGaming) for example, he does the "Buy, Rent, Wait for Sale, and Never Touch" reviews. Although his ratings may be too specific for one's preference but he actually goes into detail on what the game offers and what the game's flaws are. He's even okay with people disliking and hating him, he doesn't seem to mind the haters. He deserves some attention.

Being honest, "fandoms" nowadays are just cesspools of human garbage. You have "fans" who feel they are entitled to know everything about the entertainer they follow or admire. The moment the entertainer decides to change something for whatever reason, the cesspool of human garbage club explodes and attacks. Then you have the entertainer scrambling around wondering why. People are just entitled garbage but not just here on youtube. Everywhere they are that way. For example, when The Creature Hub and Cow Chop split happened. The "fans" attacked the very people they themselves said they "loved". Just recently we had the Phillip DeFranco being attacked by the Daddy of Five fandom where they were threatening to murder Phillip, his wife and kid. Then you have the Doctor Who fandom where the cesspool lost their shit because the new Doctor is a woman. It's just a fucken show! They are people, not gods. Their job is to entertain that is all. If the cesspool doesn't like the content, then they should watch something else. Just flush the toilet and let them go.

The only reason idiots think it was caving to pressure was because right as the news went public, you had fucking idiots like Anita Sarkeesian popping up and praising the show for being oh so progressive. Basically people think that because the morons that screech that we need less white people in tv and more everything else were praising the change, must mean that the change was specifically done for those groups.

Boogie, like you I suffer from severe anxiety, panic disorder and somatization disorder. I had to leave for some time off in 2015 while I was in hospital and when I came back making videos again the algorithm had screwed me. I've got a decent sub size for a cooking channel at over a million subs, I'm working so hard now to try and get back in the system but it's tough. What's worse is because I made some videos about my mental health advertisers in Australia don't want to touch me. We all need time off, we work very hard at what we do. Ever since Obama, politic seriousness has crept into everything. The drama "he's the best" "he's the worst" "your evil!" "your greedy!" people need a change of vibe and they've been in that bad vibe for years now. Not an easy switch off. Just keep being firm. Keep being rational. And make funny jokes. People will come around.

I'm in my 30's and have been on the internet a long time and I'm still surprised by the reactions to this. It's free entertainment. People are so entitled these days.

Ditto. The youtube culture has its downsides, and this kind of thinking you own a man's time while paying or contributing little but your eyes is one of them. That said he billed it as an army, as an identity so the branding is part of it. Viewer interaction is another part, people feeling personally attached to the individual speaker. But yeah complete nonesense, on the flip side its like someones got their finger stuck on the remote control and is cursing at the channel for not being what they want it to be.

A lot of people think thats very sloppy. He doesnt have his trademark Angry joe character, his great editting, his detail , his silly over the top costumes nor his sense of humour. People arent mad hes not doing game reviews, they are mad that he is replacing the quality with low effort shitty vlogs which is all the noise with crap youtubers. What made Joe great was his style and it doesnt show at all with his movie reviews which only come off as generic and If I wanted movie reviews I would go else where like with Chris Stuckmann or YMS - you couldnt do this with his game reviews because not only where they 100% unique but they where entertaining and now he thinks he cant do the same effort for movie reviews. Plus hes shit at reviewing movies.

Joe made the mistake of thinking people care about him instead of his content. Then he made the mistake of publicly trying to dismiss anyone who criticizes him as a troll.

I feel like i'm in the minority that actually enjoys all his content lol. I honestly don't see what the issue is here, his audience is incredibly entitled.

Ok, to clarify, in france we have 5 weeks paid vacation after the first year, and more as we work over time and cumulating years in the same company, not counting sick days.

I'm with ya on this one Boogie. Creative work takes it out of you. Constantly. At the level of quality and quantity that Joe works, I can't imagine having done it for so long without taking a break until now. I will miss the reviews too, but that's a good thing: the guy's been doing it for years. Creative breaks are important. He'll come back with ideas, and energy to execute them. That's how it works. And, he's still going to be making content in the mean time. I hope he enjoys his vacation, and am looking forward to seeing what he comes up with when he returns.

I hold no ill will towards Joe. I watched for the reviews and I'll wait patiently for the next one. Until then I have other people's channels to watch. Like boogie2988.

I've had to make things for other people too and sometimes life gets in the way and a due date becomes a nope date... People seem to forget that? These "promises" people keep going on about are him trying to keep us in the loop, we should appreciate him at least trying to be open about it and respect the fact he's human and makes mistakes or simply can't finish something in the given time while it's relevant and he has to move on to something else instead of being stuck on one thing. Anyways, I'll keep voting with my views and watching the stuff I like, Joe's or other youtubers.

The problem isn't that he needs some time off. The problem is him making up excuses, refusing to own his decisions and then acting like a cry-baby when shit hits the fan. Joe is a good entertainer, but a piss-poor communicator. He has no talent whatsoever with the whole "communicating with his fans" thing and it shows.

of course its stressful but i doubt its the majority just screaming at nothing. saying that most of then are just troll is ignoring criticism, even if you think the guy is just being mean this is the internet where a bunch of socially inept people go to have a good time, so in all honesty these people could just have a hard time getting a point across. and I ask you would that make there point any less valid if they were being mean about it? the answer is no of course it doesn't. putting everyone in a little box any disregarding what they say as just trolls or haters is just as damaging to your reputation as completely removing the content that your known for.

I've been working on my channel since May of this year. My videos average between 5 to 15 minutes long and bearing in mind that I also juggle a full time job 5 days a week I'll be lucky if I can turn 3 reviews around in a fortnight. I usually spend a week literally just watching,researching and writing followed by a very intense week of editing. I aim for 5 a month and I estimate my average turnaround from screening to uploading is probably about an average of 8-10 hours per video...which means im often working an extra 10-15 hours a week on average. its not an easy gig. But I get a tremendous satisfaction of knowing that I've knocked another one down and that my feelings on a particular film have been logged...its like bubblewrap for me...very frustrating bubblewrap xD

I think the biggest issue I have with the defenders is that they seem to think he doesn't have any breaks, even though the difference between the release of one review and the release of the next game he reviews proves otherwise.

A sensible youtuber? Wow im impressed.

I could really cry seeing how people would attack this man. I joined the angry army pretty late. But I was amazed to see how unique and motivating his reviews would be. I think the problem here is that we, the audience, cannot subscribe to a playlist or a subchannel. I understand that many creators found themselves in a situation where they simply had to start uploading more frequently - I get that. The problem with that is many channels became spammed with content I couldn't care less about, which were not the reason for which I subscribed to them in the first place. The result of that is we either need to browse through tens of youtube posts in our subscribe feeds to search for content that's interesting to us, or simply unsubscribe the channels completely and just trust youtube algorithms to highlight the content we might want to see. This is not great at all, and in all that I personally started to miss a middleground solution, that would allow me to follow specific content I like on the channels I used to subscribe to. Understanding the fact that one creator can employ their skills in various different types of content, I do think we, the audience, should be able to subscribe not only to a channel and all its videos, but also to certain types of content within a single channel. That would clear our sub feeds from all the junk we are not interested in, let us keep our support of our favourite channels through subscribing to them, and let us follow only the content we like. I don't get it why there is no option like that in youtube already.

I know it, sounds silly ;) But really, when we compare a clean subscribe feed from 1 year or two years ago, all the videos were interesting and relevant and we could just click from one to another. Now, it's more like a facebook feed you need to scroll down 90% of to get to the stuff that's really relevant to you. This is what I liked so much about youtube - there was no junk, we were free to follow what we found interesting. Now it's no longer like that, unfortunately... In the last year I found myself subscribing to many channels I discovered and got to like just to unsubscribe from them a month or two later because I like 10-15% of their content, the rest just spamming my subscriber's feed. It's a shame, because those channels really deserve support. It's not a nice position to be in, having to choose between supporting our most favourite creators and keeping the time spent on browsing through the subscribe feed short.

Exactly! There's so many channels i'm not subscribed to becouse most of their content don't appeal, while some of their weekly video's are what i'd watch. H3H3 started to upload almost everyday at one point and i almost unsubscribed. Then they started uploading their lower quality video's on their second channel and i stayed subscribed. 1 or maybe 2 video's a week is fine but more than that is just too much when you're already subscribed to so many people.

Hi! New subscriber here! I just found out about this story and I have to say- you hit the nail on the head! Give the man a break! Producing a video is no simple task. like you said- most of us ARE average joe's who are just winging it. We all have lives outside of our channels, some are more demanding than others. Is it really his fault for creating addictive content that people love? I would say no... His real fans will be here waiting for him upon his return. Thanks for the perspective.

In Finland we have 30 day long summer holiday, which is paid with 150% salary (so, it's six weeks pay). Also tthere is one week paid holiday during winter. I take normally 1 extra week, so it is 5 weeks summer holiday (with 6 weeks salary). But some people, like teachers, have 12 weeks of paid holidays during a year.

People need to chill out joe. That dude busts his ass to bring us content and people wanna flip the fuck out that there wont be any reviews to two months. Big fucking deal.

The thing is, he kept promising more reviews basically from the start of his AJSA army webpage or whatever that was. You can clearly see him not enjoying it as much as before, but he keeps promising ALL the time. Its not about this 2 months break only, its because its yet another time he makes an "update" video where he says "Yeah, about this whole schedule stuff ... not gonna happen :)". AGAIN. Its been quite a while, since he really delivered high quality content for 3 straight months. Illnesses, birthdays, family, that all sounds reasonable, but if you look at the frequency ... it smells of bullshit

In Australia, we are pretty lucky. We get like paid leave for up to 14 days more or less and up to 2-4 weeks long service leave without pay per year. We also get sick leave (paid and unpaid) ECT

An artist is not a bitch to their audience. I understand that people are always going to demand consistency, but a creator like Angry Joe is not obligated to do anything. He's a human being. You can wait a couple months. Jeez. People freak out over the smallest stuff, I swear.

That's probably because of KZread's Algorithm and ads. Why would he make his usual quality content if he barely gets paid for it? And if his situation is very hectic, of course they are going to take a break, sort everything out and pump a lot of content in out of his character as a KZreadr.

The problem really is simpler than anyone seems to be saying; As soon as people on both sides began considering KZread a legitimate "job" then this entire ridiculous conversation was always going to happen. As soon as creators began having a platform with which to ask for sympathy because the job was too much and as soon as the viewers began to believe that they were entitled to demand what content a creator puts out. As soon as KZread changed from a cool video uploading tool to some ridiculous KZread celebrity culture it was lost.

Here's the thing about his two month vacation that many aren't considering, I believe. A vacation from making videos, or as I believe the case here seems to be, a particular series of videos doesn't mean he will be sitting with his feet propped up sipping a drink with a little umbrella in it while some scantily clad ladies (or fellas, whatever gets your blood pumping). He will still be working on social media, Discord, Reddit or whatever other platform he uses. And if he sells merch, there is a load of work with that as well. Not to mention conventions, live streams, or any of the other things he does. Give the man his time, he knows what he needs better than we do. Hating on him will only stress him worse.

OK I know Joe promises some stuff he does not deliver. But like its no reason to go out of your way to hurt the man's feelings. It is unacceptable but unfortunately this is the problem with this world. And what happens when you let children use a keyboard.

I live in Pennsylvania and I get 2 weeks paied vacation and a week of paied sick time and a week of unpaid sick time. I haven't even been with my warehouse for a year yet.

The main problem is the video he made at the start of the year promissing 2 angry reviews per month. This is after he was alredy failing at making them regulary. There was barely any "end of the year lists" in 2016. He made a promisse and now he is not keeping that promise, simple as that. I dont mind all the other content, I usualy dont even see it (he is not great at them) , but at very least 1/1.5 angry reviews per month is nothing more than he promised :( .

*They see their relationships with youtubers as personal and intimate when it's in reality completely professional. So when a youtuber makes a professional mistake they take it personally as if they have been betrayed by a friend. That's not on Joe it's on them, 100%*

I'm not exactly too upset with the whole "vacation" thing AJ wants. But having already gone on a 2 month vacation to come back saying they want another right away is a bit much. I can easily wait and watch other things but hearing that is almost enough to sway me against him.

If he would do an update video every month where he would say which game he's reviewing for that month (maybe even let the audience vote), none of this would have been a problem. Now it just seems like Joe hasn't been working on reviews at all the last 2 months and he still complains about doing too much.

TT_The_Blackout That would be a nice move on his behalf. It can help reassure the fans that want to support him and keep others at least somewhat quiet about it rather than everyone attacking each other!

What to keep from this, "Give the guy a break!"

At least to me, I don't mind just hearing Angryjoe in a room speaking of a game. No editing, no skits, just an honest review about how he found the game and the pro and cons. I've been watching him since he began and honestly I love his content when it comes to games, everything I rather not consume but his content is something I the majority of the time can understand and find fun. I enjoy his honest perspective towards games rather than just the editing and skits. Which is the icing on the cake, I can understand the backlash since it's giving the audience something they're not accostumed to but I believe if it's the bread and butter, he should find a compromise where he and the audience can both enjoy their work. Which unfortunately isn't the case. I genuinely look up to AJ, but I think to an extent he should try and reason with his audience after the 2 month break. Rather than what's happening now.

The reason fans are mad is because this isn't the first time it's happened. Earlier this year he pissed off fans like this and made several videos talking about it. One was him and other Joe sitting down and making a schedule of when and how often his content will come out. He didn't stick to his word and he is getting crap for it.

[simplified] He said he would adhere to a new infrequent plan of uploading and we believed him. He changed his mind and people got pissed off. then the same thing happened again a while later but people got even more pissed off. He said he would create a plan for what he would do in the near future and then abandoned those plans. then he said he'd take a break (again.) rightfully by this point people were sick of false promises. some unsubscribed and others took it too far.

Some people did not liked it, some did. If the majority does not like what he does, he can either embrace his change with all the consequences, or turn back. He cannot pretend freedom of choice without backlashes coming from audience. And most people, again, spoil him with some common words like "Do whatever you want and be yourself", that's the kind of shit that makes people fall because doing whatever you want it's not always _THE BEST_ , and when you play the "KZread game", you have rules to attend to. This, and also the fact that since the Twitch discovery, along with ez donations, he became a shit ton lazier.

"Doing whatever you want is not always the best" That doesn't apply here because in this case Joe has to do it to succeed in youtube all the extra stuff is whats making youtube profitable if he made 3 big angry reviews a month he wouldn't make anywhere near enough money to sustain himself and his coworkers

In fact he discovered Twitch and donations, that is why he's making less and less Reviews. Time changes, I won't judge him for jumping on Twitch, that's a smart move everyone would make, Im just saying he should make simplier reviews so he can keep up with less stress.

I think the biggest reason why the backlash blew up the way it did was because of the way Joe communicated the whole scenario with very poorly. He uploaded the video announcing that he was taking a 2 month vacation AFTER not uploading anything Angry Reviews for a month thus leaving fans wondering when the next review was happening. Had he been a bit more upfront about his plans BEFORE his most recent Angry Review, then this whole situation wouldn't have been such a big deal

Assuming he knew he was going to take a break before that was uploaded. Maybe he was sitting around on the couch last night and just went "fuck it, i deserve a break". He's his own boss, few should be so lucky (unlucky depending on how business savvy you are) to make such choices so easily.

A lot of people in Sweden have 5 weeks paid vacation per year depending on the contract and how long they've worked at their job...

There's an interesting win-win situation to be had here. True, AJ releases his Angry Reviews at later dates than other reviewers because of the amount of effort it takes to produce them. That being said, I think it's actually good to wait for reviewers and allow them to take their time. The thing about buying games Day One and heaven forbid freaking pre-ordering them is that you buy them sight unseen. You do not know if the product is going to work, or if it's a product that you'll actually want to have. Just because you liked the previous Zelda game doesn't mean you'll like the next. I honestly believe it's best to wait for a few months after release before buying a game, if not for the reviewers' who take their time then for the developers to release bug fixes etc.

As a film-maker I can relate. The public is ignorant of how hard it is to produce anything. The people saying it isn't work, have never produced anything worth seeing.

It sounds like he slept with your wife, not "he didn't make as many episodes as he promised". What money do you pay into the show exactly (and not twitch or ad revenue)? And why do you have to write a manifesto about it? Why can't you take your viewership (and money I somehow guess) somewhere else if he pisses you off so much?

His content is inferior to what it was years ago, even though he has more hands and money than he ever did. The video game clips he uses in the reviews now are taken from his god-awful livestreams.

TheEreder maybe u don't understand what 200-300 hours of production is like. That's weeks of work to make 1 vid. He's actually being very honest by saying he needs a break

some people just don't understand how hard content creation can be, especially if you're an actually creative and talented person who creates original content of true substance. the "fans" who complain are ignorant and have probably never done anything like that.

I'm saying that the majority of those people have no idea what it's like to be doing that and they don't grasp how much work goes into it all. Although yes, I do understand what it takes and I have experience with video production. I am unsure what your point is?

In Europe you can get about a month long vacation, at least in some countries.

As someone that grinds a 50 hr a week job thats been breaking my body for 15 years I cant imagine the struggle.

His fans are upset with him more now than ever before for one simple reason: he's treating them like they're stupid. Let me start this by saying I've watched Joe for years now, and he has been my favorite KZreadr for much of that time. But, time and time again he has promised to try harder for his fans, only to disappear for weeks or months at a time without explanation. While his non-toxic fans have been extremely patient with him in the past, he's run their patience thin by claiming that he hasn't had a break in 9 years. It just clearly isn't true to anyone who has kept up with his channel, and his fans, much like Angry Joe whom they so dearly admire, are trying to call him out on his bullshit. But instead of listening to them, he's trying to silence them. That hurts, especially to those who have been patient with him for so long and for so many times over the years. I'll say it again, his audience is NOT rebelling because he isn't producing Angry Reviews. His audience is rebelling because he's treating them like they're stupid.

TheGusBus It's pretty ballsy to claim sole ownership of a channel when your subscribers have made you tons of money and helped you be a part of things that no normal person could. He can deny responsibility to his subscribers all he wants, but that doesn't make him right.

Do people not go outside anymore? I can't believe there are so many people who just can't believe that a man needs a vacation and that they simply can't go on living with his content. I mean, I know how entitled people are, but damn.

That Guy Well actually he spends most of his time streaming now. He has been for a while. And he's one of the people who gets lazy and just does streams because people throw money at him. And during the stream people donate hundreds of dollars if not more to him for no reason (it's sad when people do this) and he gets donations too when that isn't happening. So advertisement isn't nearly his only income.

The Gist of the situation to me, Some idiots think they are entitled to every little thing regardless of the people who are involved health. Everyone deserves to have a break, especially if they have done a good job with what they are doing.

I watch Joe on and off. I'm by no means a hardcore fan, but who cares if he wants to take a break? It's not really that big of a deal. I promise you it's not. If it is....then you are not living in reality. Our reality where people do get tired of doing something and want a break from it and it's ok.

He'd already been taking a break from Angry Reviews for about a year before he made that announcement. Joe started doing mini reviews or reviewing games that nobody cared about and doing them very simply. His fan had already been missing the reason they started watching Joe's channel and now it was going to be two month before he began working on another one.

Frankly, as someone who has been on both sides of the fence, creator and audience (not as a YT creator, specifically, but doing creative work with something of an audience) audiences (myself included at times when I'm an audience member) often have ZERO concept of the work that goes into content. I mean, the kind of work I've done, in some cases, I was pulling anywhere from 12-16 hour days working on it. Some people just have no concept of the fact that when you are your own boss (or more like, your own CEO), that comes with certain freedoms, but it also comes with a boatload of disadvantages. Some of those disadvantages are things like: - You set your own schedule, which means you can very easily overwork yourself from deeming "more work" important, with no end in sight - If you don't have an office away from home, it can be difficult to disconnect from your job and relax at the end of a long day - Because you ultimately make every major decision about your work, that means a huge amount of responsibility is on you not to ruin everything you've built - Because of the nature of the work, there's often little to no job security or pension; everything is contingent on you managing your finances effectively, planning for the future, and creating/running a successful business (e.g. yet more responsibility on your shoulders) - Your "company" is not going to cover things like healthcare because it's all on you, so that has to come out of your earnings There are very few people on youtube who can truthfully describe their job as relatively easy. And some of those who do are probably downplaying the work they put in because they get a certain amount of enjoyment out of it, or feel obligated to fill a certain role and so they don't see it as work. The average youtuber is hanging on by a thread, trying to stay relevant and grow. The ones clustered more at the top may have more audience staying power, but STILL have to be on their toes with the algorithm and content style, to try to adapt to a platform that changes at a rapid and unpredictable pace.

Guy Lloyd You're the delusional one if you think you're entitled to anything. The channel is his, the content is his. You vote with your dollar and your view. That's your right. You *don't* have the right to harass him because you want your videos and your sippy cup.

Boogie, the problem is not that he takes a 2 month vacation, the problem is that he hasn't uploaded a game review for 2 months already and this is the core of his channel, angry reviews are pushed aside for quick movie reviews and playtroughs and are pushed more and more to the sideline. How are the fans supposed to rely on him for a review a game they want to buy? They can't, that's the problem, you cant wait for joe to review a game, because he probably won't, even AAA games.

I think the biggest issue is that it wasn't too long ago that he said he'd be sticking to a schedule for these sorts of things, and almost immediately broke it.
