    @@radioguy801 Shalom. We are no longer SINNERS. We do sin, no doubt about that. But once we are born from above (born again) we have been saved from the kingdom of darkness and placed in the kingdom of GOD. The Apostle Paul never addressed any of his letters to the 'sinners' of Ephesus; or the 'sinners' of Corinth. ALWAYS to the saints - the holy ones. A sinner has no inheritance in the Kingdom of GOD. Words are important. You are the bride of Messiah, a son of GOD, the righteousness of GOD through Messiah JESUS. HIS blood was spilled to make us new creations in HIM and to be partakers of the divine nature of GOD. I hope this was understood the way I meant to deliver it. I appreciate Todd White and agree with so many things he said, especially about the struggles the man was experiencing, religious trappings and what he had allowed to be god in his life. But hell is real, and people are really going to end up there, so shouldn't they be warned about why? Certainly not in a mean or angry way, and it's not because God hates them, but if you don't realize you're a sinner, why do you need a Savior? Which is my main issue with this snippet here. Is salvation about God's immense love for us? 1000% yes. But how that love expressed itself through the birth, life, death, burial and resurrection of the Son Jesus Christ and why His sacrifice was necessary are critical. THAT is the gospel. Christ died to save sinners. Love was certainly the motivation, and his love is magnanimous for sure! But that's only part of the sgory. That love cost him something. John 3:16 makes it simple,,, God so loved the world (all people) that he gave (up to be sacrificed) his only begotten Son (of God) so that whosoever believes in Him (Jesus Christ by name, who He is and what He's done for us) should not perish (in hell) but have everlasting life (with God in love forever). We are not saved just by God's love. We're saved by faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Clearly this is just a piece of their conversation, and we didn't see him pray with the man, so we can't know what he was confessing when he prayed, but if it didn't include a recognition of and repentance from sin and a clear explanation of what Christ did for him, I'm concerned about what exactly he put his faith in.

    “Jesus Christ by name”? How can one be saved by believing in his name when that wasn’t even his name. 😂 He didn’t speak Latin or Greek. The letter J didn’t even exist until over 1,400 years after this supposed son of god was crucified by the Romans for his claims of being King. His last name wasn’t Christ. His parents named weren’t Mary and Joseph Christ. 😂 Christos means the anointed one, because Kings were anointed with oils in the name of god. At least learn the history of your religion if not the history surrounding it. 🤦🏻

  • @jayshay87

    @jayshay87

    11 ай бұрын

    @@bradmyers5354 When we as Christians refer to Jesus [the] Christ, we are referring to the one and only Son of God, the third person of the Trinity, the One who was both God and man, the One who died to save us from the punishment of our sin, the One who offers forgiveness of sin and the gift of eternal life if we repent of our sin, place our faith in Him and follow Him. He is the person we refer to by the title of Christ (not his surname), and God honors that even though we've given Him a transliterated first name. Even in Scripture, He is referred to as both Christ and Messiah, two words in two different languages that mean the same thing. Because there were other people who also had the same first name He was given at birth (Yeshua, as I understand from a Jewish friend, translated Joshua), His name was transliterated to Jesus in English so there would be no mistaking exactly who was being referred to. Again, God honors that. We're not talking about just any person here--He's the God-man, and that deserves distinction.

    I'm confused by Todd's response to the question about hell. Did he just deny that hell is real? Or did he basically say that no one is going to hell because Jesus died? What does he mean the bible didn't teach him that? (Also, side-note, I personally know people who came to Christ because they were afraid of going to hell and after that encountered his love. So it's not a one-or-the-other situation when it comes to evangelism.)

    Yeah. Very Christian of this apologist to target a waiter that is dependent on pricks like this tipping him just to pay his bills. Not like this server was going to go into debate bro mode with one of his tables during his shift. He humored the guy, conversed a bit, and chose the path that’d get him a tip. Whether he was capable of making an argument or not wouldn’t have mattered. He has other tables and was trying to avoid this dueche leaving him a church card and no tip.

I’m willing to bet he only posted this because he finally found someone that tried to converse in this way with little knowledge to put this apologist in his place. He chose a waiter for a reason, too. Even if he were capable of shooting down lazy apologetics, he is depending on customers tipping him just to pay his bills. If he had made them look like the fools they are, his manager would have been called over.

    Paul, when he was writing about the 500 witnesses, was not offering up the 500 witness as proof to us, but to people of his time to which he was writing. He was presenting that Christianity is a religion with proof you can investigate. And those 500 witnesses were the proof to the people which he was writing to. And even now, you can still investigate it, just obviously not by those 500. But by a witness we still have. The Jewish talmud holds the most amt of corroborative proof, I can give you the references/ chapters if you are really searching for the truth.

    In the narrow sense of the word it’s about the person and work of Christ. The Son entered into humanity, lived a sinless life, took the anger of God against sin on the cross, He absorbed God’s anger against sin til death. He was buried, rose from the dead and ascended into the heavens. He is crowned as King of Kings and all His enemies are being made His footstool. He will return to judge the living and the dead. All who trust in Him, rely upon him alone, realising that in them is only sin and death, that is they have nothing to offer God, all those trusting, resting and relying upon Him alone are United to him by faith. They receive adoption as sons, are declared to be righteous by God, receive God’s Spirit and then those who will walk the narrow road of self denial until they reach the heavenly city and acquire the heavenly inheritance! They shall behold the face of God!
