Só o fato do André ter sido escolhido a dedo pelo Tobias Sammet para dar vozes a um elfo em Avantasia, já o isenta de qualquer crítica desse nível. O homem vai-se, mas a voz e o legado fica.

Guitarist Rafael Bittencourt and singer Andre Matos went to the same college: Faculdade de Artes Santa Marcelina, where they graduated in conducting and composition. Andre got singing lessons from an opera singer before joining Angra. Kiko Loureiro didn't graduate in music but he studied guitar at Souza Lima conservatory under Mozart Mello, a great jazz fusion guitarist and most sought after guitar educator. Bassist Luís Mariutti is mostly self taught and developed the tapping and percussive style while playing in a band without a drummer, and Ricardo Confessori was also mostly self taught. So they know pretty damn well what they're doing there! x)

Edu Falaschi, segundo cantor do Angra, gravou a voz de uma versão do tema cantando em português e os fãs do Angra passaram a pedir em showd que ele cantasse trecho da música, o que as vezes ele cedia e a banda o acompanhava para parar os pedidos. Os fãs de Edu continuam a fazer isso nas suas novas bandas.

Nice video. Angra is a great band with great musicians. The guitar guy is Kiko Loureiro, who is currently the guitarist for Megadeth.

I find funny that you tapped into the self though x music school here...if I'm not wrong the guys (don't remember if all of them) met at music school, André was a graduate in composition and regency, they were also big on the whole masterclass/clinic/DVD game back in the day. The lead player, Kiko, is now the lead guitar player in Megadeth. The lead vocalist now is Fabio Lione from Rhapsody of Fire. I think you should listem do the late part of andré's catalog with angra like Carolina IV, and also from the same album as carry on there is, angel's cry and Wuthering Heights (a kate bush cover), also the early part of Edu Falaschi is kind of beloved by their fans, like nova era and the temple of shadows album.

They met at EMT. While ir is a course of music, it dont grant you with a bachelors's degree in music/songwriting/mixing/nothing outside classical musica in Brazil (they don't have its course as a bracholas degree) so EMT does not grant this diploma to you, still today. p.s. EMT today us wildly different to today's EMT. I mean Mozzart Mello taught the best metal guitar players from Brazil how to REALLY APPROACH THE GUITAR and he is still a mainly a blues player. p.p.s. André Mattos took a Bachelors degree, later in life, in composition and songwriting, after being "famous on angra".

OMG! You are listening Andre again. I'm so proud! You already listened him singing with Shaman with the song Fairy Tale in a live performance. It's so great! You should listen Carolina IV from the same band Angra. It probably doesn't have a live performance with a good quality of audio and image but it's a music with a lot of variance. PLEASE! André was an incredible singer and composer. The whole band was very talented. They ended up going separate ways, but all of them are still active. Carry on, as well as many other songs from Angra is strongly influenced by Brazilian folk and classical music. André's soul seeps through its every chord. A documentary on André's life called "Maestro of Rock" is set to be released next year in honor of his memory and legacy. Thank you for listening to so many Brazilian musicians, and even more for showing so much respect for Angra, Shaman, and André.

Yeeeeeeeees! You gotta review Carolina IV, by Angra. It is an amazing song, with lota of influence feom folk brazilian music to classic

André Matos was the first singer. He was known for these extreme "poweful" falsetos. Edu Falaschi replaced him later. He has an awesome voice and is the singer of my favorite Angra album: Temple of Shadows. However, Edu's voice got pretty sored due to singing André's songs, so eventually he left to form his own band (Almah), which has songs more in his comfort zone. The current singer for Angra is Fabio Leone, former Rhapsody's singer. You gotta see André singing Wuthering Heights. Damn, no other man can sing that like that. RIP

Andre Matos' voice evolved A LOT during his carrer, and I'd say it matured a lot... but not only the voice, but the arrangement, inspirations and overall variety of their songs got even better for their secon album "Holy Land", from them all I think that the most impressive is certainly Carolina IV, a song inspired in 16th century ones, mixing european style, african style and native american style. It's about leaving europe on a cavavel named "Carolina IV" amidst Brazil's discovery and early colonization. A real pearl where the harmony quality is beyond what we can find today.

Andre Matos will always be missed! I was at his last show alive and I was so thrilled thinking about seeing him in another tour..Gosh...his music has a huge impact on my life! Thanks for The review
