Hey Angelo & Mama👋 I first heard of Spanakopita on the movie “My Big Fat. Greek Wedding 2” and I had to at least try! I believe I saw over 25+ tutorials on how to make it. But your mama’s video was my favorite! So I made it today Feb. 18th being her recipe so easy and watching her enjoy it so much that was the winner for me, and yes it was and is delicious!!! Please thank your mama and thank you for sharing your mama’s Spanakopita recipe. I still have a hard time saying the word but then again I’m 66 and I still love to create new recipes for my family. I first made your mom's recipe many years ago for my own mother's birthday. She absolutely fell in love with it and she asked me for it on mother's Day and her birthday every year since then. My mom passed away recently, and I came back to this recipe to make it for the funeral celebration of life potluck we're having after her service tomorrow. Just wanted to let you know how much my mom loved your mom's cooking and recipes. All these years later... This recipe is my final gift to my mom ❤

It's much simpler this way.... someone taught this to me some years back, which convinced me it was too difficult to make because she made the dough herself and made a huge sheets with it, which she rolled on a clean dinning table, it seemed very difficult to imitate....but after baking it tasted devine!...now even I can try🎉

I love this video much more than the first one you had of spinach pie! Although, I learned to make it with the first one lol. Today I’m making spinach pie and as a reference I ALWAYS go back to your mom’s video to make sure I’m doing it right!

Just made this again today. My housemate said it was the best spanakopita she EVER had -- and she's had it at many restaurants over the years. I just love it, and thank your mom for me -- as I thought I could not afford to ever eat it. Now I can make a big pan of it for less than $20 -- not exactly cheap, but not expensive either! I never cook with aluminum (as I believe it brings on the onset of Alzheimer's sooner) and use the lid of my large roasting pan which is non-aluminum. I have the feeling the only reason she says not to cut it all the way through is because she does not want to accidentally cut through the aluminum. I could be wrong, but cutting all the way through works great for me.

Well , I thought I remembered seeing this video in a play list from my second favorite Greek Mom (after my own) after learning how to make baklava ! My next meal to tackle during this crazy quarantine!

Thank you for posting these videos. I’m 100% Greek by blood & my mom passed 7 years ago. I don’t remember all of the steps to make some dishes and these videos really help. Your mom & family is very cute. Does she know a dish with artichoke & rice in a red sauce. My mom would make it and I don’t remember how.

I tried her recipe, i can replace any herbs available in my fridge. The best flavour is add spring onion, dill, leeks, if not, i'll put mint or basil, turned out my hubby ate the whole tray!

OH My Goddddddd!!! That looks better than having a down and dirty climax. I love Spinach Pie . I like to put a little bit of my Greek Egg Lemon Soup/ sauce over it. I usually have two big pieces, and take two to go home. The Baklava and Greek Coffee are to die for. I love the Flaming Cheese with the "Big Greek Bread," and a big Greek Salad...And that Greek Rice Pudding...OH....Brother...I think I should have been born Greek instead of English, Irish, Scots. This is my first time I've seen your delightful channel. You are a Sweet beautiful lady, and I love to hear your wonderful little chuckles. Thank you a million times over. Oh, and what is that little mashed potato dish that is used as an appetizer with all the garlic and olive oil in it the Big Greek Bread??? I could make a meal of that. @Joyce Fisher The name of the cheese is Agra Vieira, and I think it is a cheese made from sheep milk. In other videos, it is used ricotta and feta, and it is recommended to use cheese with high fat. I used Ricotta and salted cheese made from sheep milk. Press the cc button, and you will see the subtitle.
