It's about damn time! That's all I can say. If anyone deserved that all around title it was her! She works hard and has been a great role model for her team mates. Always stuck with it. So happy to finally see her on top!

What ever happened to the super difficult routines we used to see on BB? Gymnasts used to much more difficult tumbling mounts onto the beam followed by tumbling down the entire length of the beam. It was so exciting to watch. The gymnasts these days don’t do routines that are very captivating and they all seem to look the same.

It’s because of the scoring. You get such high scores for certain skills that it’s silly not to include them, thus everyone has those skills in their routine and they all end up being very similar :(

I miss when gymnasts did 3 layouts down the beam instead of the 2 or 1. But now they don’t count the 3rd one in the difficulty. Not many gymnasts are short enough to fit 3 layouts aswell so I’d love to see the gymnasts who can fit them in to do 3 but it’s not worth it with the current code of points. The Salto mounts have made a comeback but they are very risky. I also feel like back then like in the soviet era gymnasts were forced to do them without having a choice no matter how risky and dangerous.

Angelina is hard-working and we saw the growth of her, her eyes are so special!

Does anyone know her score on beam from this (podium training), qualification and then the all around final? I'm wondering because here and in the aa final she looked off balance going into her wolf turn and it looked like she needed to grab the beam. More so here than in the all around. However it seems that is just how she sets up for her wolf turn.. but here and in the all around final it looked like if she hadn't grabbed the beam as she did, there's a good chance she could've fallen. So I'm wondering if it's just considered a wobble or could it be a full .8 deduction for grabbing the beam? That being said, I'm super happy for her and she's an absolutely lovely gymnast.

The code of points is the problem and desperately needs to be changed. Most gymnasts aren't gonna do different routines when they don't get rewarded for it.
