Angelina Jordan - Speak Softly Love (fragment) - rehearsal with piano - rebalanced

Ойын-сауық

This originally had a very dominant piano. I've subdued it enough to allow AJ's voice to come forward. Anders Aarum is on piano.

Thanks. For those wondering, that's from the stage rehearsal for Kongsberg 2018. They apparently decided late to do it only with the piano, as there's also a clip from the same song at the same rehearsal with more accompainment.

I wish she would sing more beautiful classic romantic songs like this. She sings them better than anyone else ever did. She did sing Unchained Melody at her recent concert. That was fantastic! I wish she'd come out with a whole album of great classic love songs.

I’ve been crying out for a double album with one of originals and a second of classic covers. But for some reason they seem nervous of doing it. It’s probably tied up with money.

Yes. That’s what our job is all about. In this case there was no balance set up at all. Only with smart new software can we recapture some of the nuances.

I like to think I might have been responsible for alerting Angelina to this song after she uploaded the *Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet--A Time for Us* . I posted a comment on that video saying that I thought of A Time for Us together with *Speak Softly Love* from the Godfather, which was released a few years later. Aside from the melodic feel, maybe I thought they were similar because, as I just discovered, the lyrics of both were written by the same lyricist, Larry Kuzik.

The pianist seems to be in ecstacy.
