Yes pay attention to the link someone has sent regarding why she doesn’t wear shoes it isn’t for her comfort- it’s because she gave her shoes away before a concert to a homeless girl without shoes when she was six years old traveling in Iran- she went on stage that day without shoes and vowed to do so until all children have shoes. She wrote a book about the experience which she called “mellom to hjerter”which translates as “between two hearts” and had it published at the age of nine.

Hi Indie Cab, just a slight correction. When she was 6 she had yet to appear on stage except for some school functions. She made the decision not to wear shoes just before her appearance on Norway's Got Talent at 7. Her mom had gotten her a new pair for her audition at 7 yo on NGT and that is when she thought that she wanted to honor the little girl by going on stage barefoot. She also wanted to bring attention to the children that have no shoes and live in poverty. She donated the money she won from NGT to children's charities.

I'm simply trying to explain that when we give information to reactors that it should be as accurate as possible. I have made mistakes in comments over the past 3 years I have followed AJ and have been corrected more than once, LOL. Take care friend

Angelina's Mother Sarah Astar was not happy with the lyrics of the song as being too adult. She insisted Angelina change them if she wanted to do the song. Angelina finished writing them in the car on the way to the recording. My understanding is that they fit so well that KORK had no need to change the arrangement and that to me is astonishing! Angelina's roots are in Jazz. She been listening and studying these icons from the past century since she was 2-3 yrs old on u-Tube. Also Angelina arranges, at least in part, if not in total, total control of all her performances. She has since she was 7-8 yrs old. She knows what she wants and gets exactly what she wants out of the artists and musicians she works with, many of them who are some of the most accomplished in the industry. ♥👣 Some have referred to this as a rehearsal and I will be happy to be corrected by someone who Knows but I suspect this was no rehearsal but a scheduled performance with this performance being the purpose. KORK is the Norwegian National Orchestra known as the Norwegian Radio Orchestra & I don't believe I have heard this performed with this arrangement with these particular members in a live event. She did do a live performance of "Summertime" with the full Orchestra. Correct me if I'm wrong. I believe not just anybody has the ability to book them for just any event. I believe Angelina and her family has access to this National Orchestra because she was declared by Norway as a National Treasure shortly after winning Norway's Got Talent. I believe this booking was arranged for the purpose of this recording. It's on her Album. Thus the scheduled time slot. I'm guessing the arrangement was made ahead of time and each party was working with this. Angelina was informed the night before I believe and had the night and next day before the performance to make the changes. I believe she worked on it that evening but didn't quite finish it. She visited an amusement park on the day of and before the performance. I've watched video of her in an interview at the park with a friend. It looks like they had the whole park to themselves. She finished the lyrics on the ride to the recording session. The remarkable thing is that the lyrics fit so well they had no need to change the arrangement. I believe this performance was the second take. Again I will be happy to be corrected on this if I am wrong but regardless this performance was typical Angelina Magic. Smooth Velvet Perfection! ♥👣 If there is a performance and a recording of it I'd love to see & or hear it. I know she did it live a time or two but not with these members and this arrangement. ♥👣

I believe the two jazz singers that Angelina has absorbed the most from are Amy Winehouse and Billie Holiday. Amy has to be the most uniquely different jazz singer of all time, using mid-sentence 'key' changes and 'slurring' of words for added effect that Angelina also has adopted. When it's a heartfelt ballad, that's when Billie's 'breathy', 'whisper-like' releases come to the fore by Angelina.

KORK, Kringkastingsorkesteret, is the orchestra of NRK (the "BBC" of Norway).

Once she saw a kid without shoes and she promised to perform more barefoot from then on.

She has no shoes on, because many children have no shoes. She wont use shoes singing, befor all children have shoes.

She performs barefoot because she saw a homeless little girl without shoes and she took her shoes and gave it to the little girl..
