Unfortunately modern jazz had become and gone in the same way as modern art, obscure & hard to comprehend, AJ has taken it back to its roots making it feel fresh!!!!!

That she is only 16 years old and are at this level now tells that she is going to climb up to the top and be amogst the legends.

The majority of people prefer vocalists who can belt it out and wait for those high notes. I much prefer Angelina singing softly, making every note of the song the most important and most beautiful.

Well, she can belt - if it fits the song and message in that moment. Her singing is somehow like her soul leaking out and it directly flows in ours. Sometimes it feels for me, like she is singing from my inside. So she doesn't sing to show, what she is capable to do, but to express herself in music. For this she is builds up dynamics, uses her versatility, her different voices, all the nuances, virtuous changes from head- to chest voice, with so much care for every note, that every note is like an own song... All together this creates a intimate message, like a goddess speaking to us, the way a goddess uses to do. So it feels, like she is speaking only to me, or to you. El Duende, great art. Flawless, never "trying", just doing it.

For this recording Angelina was at the Melrose Gallery and Antiques in Los Angeles. And like someone else said this performance « was a master class for singing ».

She can sing well with sting; refined, musical, no random yelling.

You’re completely missing the point. The store isn’t meant to be a distraction it’s setting the period. Remember she an artist. I can’t think of any video she’s done without meaning behind the design elements. The items in the store are all from days of old from an era gone by, like the song. A perfect song for a jewelry store commercial

If you guys want to see an absolutely nuts version of this song, sung by Angelina, try her live version that she did at the HIV charity event when she was 9. It is unfathomable how she can perform to this level while her piano accompanist is 'free expressing' the entire song and only really plotting the landmarks of the melody. Her cadence is like a conversation with the saxophone - it's mind-blowingly good!! She just stands there, swinging her bare feet to and fro, with purple flowers in her hair and knocks out a sophisticated classic jazz masterpiece - AT 9 !!!

In terms of singing AJ has taken singing to new levels for technique, phrasing & malordic interpretation!!!!

The vocals just keep getting better & better every time she releases a new song. I haven't heard all 1,300 versions of this song, but I've heard many legendary singers cover it & to me this is the best. I wish she would just film herself singing, rather than hanging out in a fancy furniture shop in Hollywood. There's nothing like seeing her sing.

I keep listening to this..and each time im mesmerised by the richness and versitility of her voice...I cant believe the effect her voice has on me.....Like all the great singers, there is this intangible quality....you cant put your finger on it....the genuine X factor....whatever it is...when it comes along...it stops you in your tracks...and it makes you listen over and over again to try and capture what the attraction is...its like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow...you go on this incredible journey....but you can never get to the pot of gold....you can only share the journey.. so thank you guys for allowing me to enjoy the journey and ofcourse ..thank you Angelina

Angelina can belt when it is needed, but we see her forming a new genre, having people making covers of her covers that she make herself. This is great to see the singers take back the stage with human souls instead of the commuter made corrections that have difficulty grasping the soul as Angelina brings from her first note,.

She's just absolutely brilliant!!

If you guys didn't give this performance by Angelina a 10 I was going to throw my computer out the window, so thanks for that.

@@ronjones1077 Plus, smoke. And there are little gremlins running about doing her bidding. Even a casual watch will show that a camera is moving as well as zooming in/out when her hands are visible and not being used at all. Also, a camera view is moving while showing her using her cell phone camera with both hands visible. I've watched this many times and she is not alone.

My first impression of the video was "Oh, she's not feeling it", but that didn't make any sense. She may be a teenager, but she's also one of the most thoughtful persons, like, ever. There's a palpable sense of ennui. I think it's deliberate and it goes with the song very well.

This is gorgeous, as is Angelina. Taking nothing away from her previous work, but I really like how her image now better compliments the type of songs she sings. I know I'll probably get hammered, but that's just my humble opinion. That voice coming from a 7- year-old always seemed a bit incongruous to me. She's growing into her voice and I love it.

About the surroundings... I guess she has divided herself into two here: one is the singer (the main character), & the other one is the singer's Valentine - the silent one in the retro fancy furniture store taking pictures of herself. Perhaps there's a hint in "Your looks are laughable/ Unphotographable/ Yet you're my favorite work of art." ...?

Gentlemen, the word - phrase if you like - you were looking for is antique shop maybe? One of those posh ones, as BP 1 pointed out. Nice switch that, by the way, of your places.. 😊. This is the Ella Fitzgerald version of the sone, I think. She also sang this same song - with an introduction that is missing in this version - on Valentine's Day 2016. At the age of 10. sitting in a chair, with the background score, no mike. Just for your listening pleasure, You should listen to that one. Have fun, and thank you for this one.

We were having some fun to see if the viewers noticed and it's nice to know some did notice the switch. You thought you were impressed with Angelina before, but she will continue to amaze you with her recent releases and the many younger performances you’ve not covered. There’s no question that her vocal ability has continued to improve, but her younger performances stand on their own and are equally impressive. Her talent as a child was staggering-she always had her own musicality and that unique, mesmerizing voice. You said you’ll be listening to more of Angelina. Yes, she is an addiction, but a beautiful one. One of the best lines I’ve heard from a fan: Her voice is like a drug.

During the Pandemic Angelina and her mum would go out on their own with their phone/cameras. I think that's a posh furniture store. Also she is 16 years and 6'1" tall. I'm wondering if she might be modeling on her own to show her ability in that vein.

I read an answer on another review that said that this was filmed in a store near where she lives in LA. The store has a swish looking open area on the roof where she has also filmed some of her Instagram/tick-tock videos. I'm guessing they are friends with the store owner. From some video I've seen of the interior of her home in Norway makes me think that that store is their style.

In the US, it looks like an Antique Shop

Yes... six years I've been listening to her, and I always want to hear more. To help with that need, I listen to as many reactors as I can. You 2 fellows are right up there at the top of my list. Too many that call themselves reactors are reviewers pausing every 15 seconds to go on about everything. Regarding going on about everything, I could have heard less about where she was and more about Angelina. I’m glad that younger people are being influenced into this genre by Angelina. As far as the reactors not knowing what they are doing, I think their youth and thus their limited experience listening to this type of singing hurts the quality of their reactions. I like reactors who know the history of the genre they’re reacting to and can give an accurate assessment of a singer’s place in that history. The fact that Quincy Jones invited Angelina to his birthday celebration speaks volumes about Angelina’s eventual place at or near the top in the history of jazz singing.

Antique store which is wuite apropo for the song.uch of the furniture you see in that store is circa to when this song came out. Ive heard a hundred different versions of this song but mo one has been able to do it as soulfully as this teemage girl...absolutely incredible

She has two concerts scheduled in the Summer which will take place in Norway. Angelina applies her jazz roots in this presentation but she goes to one end of the jazz spectrum and takes the breathy. sensual style of Billie Holiday, but then she goes to the opposite end of the spectrum to incorporate the raw inflections that Amy Winehouse was known for, including 'slurring' and radical 'key' changes within specific lyrical lines. Using her superior ability to go from low, to medium, to high registers, Angelina does something truly unique by combining the sounds of the two aforementioned jazz specialists with her own personal style and the listener hears what sounds like three singers in one song. I believe John Legend describes what Angelina does here with the term 'perfect imperfections' when he recorded 'All Of Me', for those two words are truly applicable to what Angelina produces here. Have never heard another singer do a song is this intricate, complex way.

A very accurate explanation. I would add, like the very few true legends of music, she is a portal to the spirit of the music itself. As if the 'person singing' disappears but her unique vocal talent becomes a complete servant to the music itself. I dont hear anyone else, doing this, not anymore. But the singers did that she listened to as a very young child, Billie, Ella, Eta, and more. I do think shes the greatest contemporary music and Jazz-blues singer of my 66yr lifetime.

@@tomg2946 I agree with you, and I'm 75. I remember Ella doing the 'Gold Standard' for the song 'Every Time We Say Goodbye'. Don't know how many takes were required but Ella was a special singer even when performing 'live', so I'm sure those who saw her do the song in person would agree with my assessment I then remember a rating of the Top 50 jazz singers of all time and Ella came out on top, followed by Sinatra, Nat King Cole, and Billie Holiday. I then heard Angelina at 10, singing the song on an outdoor rooftop in Norway, accompanied by only a single guitar player keeping time. Essentially, the only thing she does different from Ella, is that she slows it down. This 'spot of the moment' presentation by her, simply blew my mind, for she was right there with Ella's version, transporting me to magical places that only singers like Billie Holiday and Ella could take me to.

Gentlemen, I for one have enjoyed Jazz back in the Day went Sinatra and other great popular singers preferred Jazz or standard music. Angelina has single-handed revived Jazz for her generation to discover by introducing the Jazz element to current songs. Without a doubt, Angelina Jordan has proven herself has a true Arts of her young musical life.

'My gosh…could she be any more perfect? So subtle and intelligent in her arrangement of this classic made fresh. Every time I see her I fall in love all over again.

Incredible. She, as a schoolgirl, takes the ultimate torch song and converts it somehow into the most beautiful innocent gentle lovesong that a child would love to hear their father sing to their mother.

hi there its a 20 from 10 for me.... agree with you different era but Angelina will make old fashion music current and relevant for the young Generation - by the way she will have 2 concerts in Norway that year and i got Tickets for the second July 10. would be great to see you there and talk a bit... i will also take my time there and try to visit the school and Studio where she recordet her first Video at age 6 "i Who habe nothing" - for the concert it would be tremendess if someone would invite Tom Jones to sing with her - greetings from Germany

All her music is influenced with jazz and she has become responsible to introduce music of yesteryear to today's audience with a uniqueness unparalleled in the industry when you combine her vocal artistry and her heartfelt soulful tones to everything she sings. And, what's even more extraordinary is she will be releasing original material for us to enjoy very soon. All of this will happen when she is officially marketed to the world and won't that be an exciting day when people who have never heard her before, or even know who she is, will discover her and wonder, "Where have I been? How come I've never heard of her before? She's absolutely marvelous!" And so the journey continues.

A comment of her sister,..why are my eyes wet?? For me too everytime I listen to it. She brings back the wonderful music world of the past in her beautiful great way😭💞🔥🏄

It’s just so amazingly beautiful that it leaves you warm and happy and when it ends you just go right back to the beginning. She slides effortlessly through all those runs, a lot of dynamics and changes of voice type. Again just amazing and a delight to listen to.

I was never a big fan of jazz although there are a handful of jazz songs I've always loved and this is one of them. Like BP1 I have grown to love jazz because of listening to Angelina. Many fans have referred to her as the Queen of Jazz for a long time but I wasn't ready to crown her just yet. Now she has proved that she really is the Queen of Jazz. That 16 year old sophisticated voice can't be duplicated. That you gents gave this a 10, even though jazz is not your preferred genre speaks volumes. I loved the version performed by Alice Fredenham on Britain's Got Talent a few years ago. Angelina's 10 year old version is still in my top 5 favorite AJ videos. The pricey elegant period pieces in the store fit perfectly with the time period and elegance of the song, imo. Thanks for another "banger" reaction!!

And, there are views where the camera is moving to change position and distance where she is not involved in moving anything. It seems obvious to me. Also, she never goes anywhere like this alone. If you disagree then, that's OK. I have my opinion and you have yours.

So, here's my secret. I googled French antiques, especially chairs and sofas, and chandeliers in LA. Find the "Essential Ella" album, which includes "My Funny Valentine", to hear the lyrics that you've never heard before. Angelina's phrasing and vibrattos were born there.

The precision on her instrument! There are many good saxophone players that can make a tasteful improvisation over a melody but none of them are this young.

She is simply the best! 🤩
