I love that first performance from Angelina when she wasn't even 9 years old yet. I don't care if her voice breaks a couple of times, it's all about the delivery and she gives us 100% emotions . That cracking growl has so much dispair and anxiety - it goes right to my heart every time I hear it

Ceci, this performance was in Sweden and it was a charity event. The theme was child bullying. Two children involved in a bullying incident were present at the event. Angelina did catch a cold and it was suggested to her perhaps she should miss the event. Angelina insisted she wanted to perform because it was very important to her to perform. That crack when she was belting was obviously because of her cold. If you look at the video again you will notice the seriousness on her face. She was into this 110%!!!!! She was 8 years old. The 2nd version was a concert performance and it was wonderful, as well. But, the emotion attached to the first version is the one I absolutely love.

She has a cold and insisted on going on she still kills it, love this little angle what a pro even at 8 years of age

well. Anthony... Keeping it real, I would not agree that she KILLS it, but does show that she is a trooper/.. (THE SHOW MUST GO ON). Also, I think she may had a troublesome cold at the ALAN WALKER live show too. Her tone was different... The nasal cavity and sinuses she also uses seemed to be "out of play" then too. Not her normal tone. That being said, she did still KILL it emotively and melodically in both those shows.

I don't care if she was sick in the first performance, it just shows character. It makes the version much more emotional.

Angelina had been sick off and on for a while prior to this first performance. It was said that she was coughing backstage before going on. This is actually one of my favorite performances by Angelina because it also is a testament to her will and her character. It is really an example of her "the show must go on" mentality---I agreed to perform so that's what I'm going to do, no matter what. And while she had technical problems because of her illness, that didn't deter her at all; she still delivered a stunning emotional performance. I'm an old man, but that's why an 8 year old girl (at the time) is my Hero.

Angelina did have a bad cold which she got singing at Nobel Peace Prize ceremony which was outside in the winter weather. The performance was to support a charity so she insisted on singing. The second version was from her 2017 concert where she sang 14 songs at age 11.

And not forget - she sang bare feet again like always in that Nobel Prize performance where everybody were in winter clothes in an open air performance. Probably, that's where she caught her colds...

The most extraordinary moment of this performance is when Angelina attacks (and wails) into the microphone just after "I'll be there to protect you". It is almost like the suddenness with which a lion seizes it's prey. She is performing in a formal setting with politeness and proper-ness all around and she disrupts all that with an unanticipated insane moment of rawness. Such an artist she is (with the ability even when a little sick) to impact us emotionally and powerfully! And to the surprise of no one, she does this singing a lyric about "unselfish love"!

I read that prior to the first performance on this video, she sang outside barefoot on December 10 for the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo in 42 ° F with a small heater at her feet. She caught a bad cold on that occasion. And 2 days later, she was sick but she insisted on singing at this charity gala. She had promised. I'll be there.

Ceci Angelina is 8 years old and sick while performing this what a professional she is!!

The amazing thing here is that she was sick, you can see it on her shiny forehead, she probably had a little fever, but since it was a charity event for children, she definitely wanted to perform, what an admirable character trait (google translater)

I love the 8yo Angelina version as even though she is sick, she means every single word and it is a charity performance. The second performance is very nice but not as emotional.

With this white dress and these flowers in her hair, she is a true singing angel ... this is a vision of heaven! 👼😇

I understand that Angelina sang this with a cold Ceci, I can certainly hear a little stuffiness. Like the trooper she is, she sang anyway. Just a dedicated, adorable, barefoot angel. I love live music too. ✌️💖

There is something about the way this girl uses the shaping of her mouth that just fascinates.

We can analyse her voice on whether she has a cold but that's not what impressed me ! It's that at that young age she delivers with her heart and soul ! My god at 8 yrs old she is a treasure to listen to and she reaches into my heart and takes me into her arms ! I have not seen many if any 8 yrs olds deliver that kind of musical talent ! Great reaction - Happy Birthday to your channel - The first performance, age 8, in Sweden for a charity concert, yes she had a bad cold, was advised not to perform, they called her name, so she was there! The difficulty with her voice just made her pour in more emotion, it gets me every time. The second performance, when she was 11, this concert showed a new mood from Angelina, raw and emotional, especially the songs Cry me a River, Faded and Diamonds are forever. Amanda the backing singer later got a part in a musical, I'm sure this performance would have been a useful addition to her portfolio!

If I’m not mistaken CECI her voice was hoarse because, she I believe had a cold, or flu, that’s why she was having a little trouble there. You can see Her shiny feverish sweaty face. But, I’m sure you didn’t know. But she still did a good job. She’s a real trooper. Love you❤️

This is one of the only performances I've seen where she struggles a little. The cold she got from performing "What A Wonderful World" at the Nobel Peace Prize concert that year might have something to with it.

Que bueno saber esto .. good to know this - that it was a benefit concern for needy children .. and how lovely of her to push through even though she didn't feel well! But the video was still a rehearsal? Weren't the tables empty? Either way, she is such a gifted and generous person ! So how about the second video? Does anyone know the story there? Was she sick there also? I certainly thought so .. especially with having someone else sing the higher parts ..? Anyone know? No importa si la primer versión tiene algunas "imperfecciones", es tan emotiva que se me pone la piel de gallina cada vez que la escuho. Es insuperable.

Good call figuring out that Angelina was not completely herself on the first version that you viewed. She was so committed to showing up to a charity event. I also agree with you on the band backing her on the 2nd version. I have seen that same band on several of her videos. They were pretty good. Good reaction.

I believe the younger version was a direct homage in the style of Michael Jackson and the second one was just an interpretation of the song!

Ceci...I think Angelina could take this sound on a big tour. With those backup singers, horn section, and kick butt rhythm section (bass/drums) with good stage lighting, she'd be wowing the world. I'd prefer her to perform in theater settings rather than a huge arena setting. I'm getting a little carried away with all this, but she is so exciting.

I'm glad you pointed out the break. While it may be seen by some as one of the very rare 'mistakes' by Angelina, I see it a little differently.... Angelina (just 8 years old here) was singing here to honor local heroes. Even though she was a little sick, she still came out and poured her whole heart into it. ...so every time I hear that break, all I hear is the passion behind it. Sick or not, she was going to sing it like she felt it. A true professional... even at 8 Angelina was 11 in the second video. You _have_ to check out more of the video's from this show! This is one of my favorite bands she has worked with. Check Boris' channel (where this video was from), and look for any of the ones that he has improved the audio on. Diamonds are Forever, and Cry Me a River, Faded, and Lovin you, are some of my favorites (You are going to love them)

You are correct she had a pretty bad cold from singing outside at the Nobel Peace concert. This first performance was a gala they hold in Sweden every year to honor everyday heroes. She was there to honor the youth hero, Marwa Karim, that year. I think this performance might be one of her most emotional. She puts such feelings into this and it is written all over her face. The song was slowed and dropped to a minor key to add to the emotion. That crack in her belt just chokes me up every time I hear it.

Quite right Ceci, Angelina had been sick, but she didn’t want to let anyone down. The show must go on. 😊

Angelina in this video was 8 years old and on this day she had the very flu, they wanted to suspend her participation in the event, but she did not agree because she had already committed herself.
