Thank you for another reaction to Angelina. In my opinion, she is the best singer in the world, and there are thousands of others who would agree with me. Every moment you spend featuring her on your channel will being you great emotional satisfaction. There are so many things I get from this performance. Some I recognised immediately and those I missed were brought to my attention by the more observant Angelina fans (her Angels) and I thank them for letting me know what I had missed. (1) The realisation that at the age of 10 Angelina has shed all childishness from her voice. (2) A feeling that the placement of the spotlight at the beginning of her performance was deliberate. If it was, then, to my mind, it was a brilliant move. (3) The fact that Angelina arranged this song and that the band kept out of the way and let her voice be the focus. (4) The incredible low note she sang for the word "good" at the beginning and end of the performance. (5) That wonderful crescendo at the end. (6) The was Angelina used her left arm and hand throughout the performance (7) The way she changed the microphone from her right hand to left hand, so that she could flip her hair back with her right hand. (8) The cheeky smile she gave to the cameraman when she realised he had focused on her at about 6.10 in your reaction video. (9) The sideways look and grin she gives to her instrumentalists just after she curtsies to the audience -- as if to say, "Yeah, we killed it, guys! Now let's go get some ice cream!" (10) The almost instantaneous switch from "performance" mode to that of a young child who,curseyed and gave a sweet smile to the audience as an acknowledgement of their applause. Others have commented that the performance by Nina Simone should be considered the "gold" standard for this song. Until recently, I had never watched her performance, but have now done so. They just cannot be compared, for Angelina's arrangement is totally different

Big Papa, what can you possibly say about this performance unless it has something to do with, "Where is she from?' Or, "I just listened to a seasoned pro and she's 10 years old!" One thing you didn't mention is that a lot of us have heard this classic song sung by many popular artists through the years and, you know what? In our opinion no one has ever sang it better than Angelina!!! Papa, some covers she sings you might be loyal to the original artist but at the same time you will acknowledge you've never heard the song the way Angelina sings it. Her 'trick' is she always finds the love in the message of a song and over everything else she wants us to feel it. She's a wonderful storyteller and she'll even rearrange lyrics somewhat so that she gets the story across loud and clear. Vocally, incredibly magnificent! Artistically, people in the industry regard her as a genius even at 10 years old. The more you read the comments you will find out more and more about 'who she is' .

Ya got me, I just subscribed. I’m 21 years older than you and way back in time I was in a little band and singing. I can’t do what I could do, but still enjoy singing these old songs. Most feel that Nina Simone's rendition is 'The Gold Standard'. That said, this performance by Angelina at 10 which was not only sung by her but arranged as well, for she knows what instruments she wants and when they are to be brought forth. It makes this 'The Platinum Standard' for her rendition.

"Feeling Good," the first time I saw this, just blew me away, left me in tears, and made a puddle on the floor out of me. She is absolutely endeared to my heart! This song is in the top 3 favorites of my top 10 favorites of my top 180+ favorites of her repertoire! Unbelievable delivery, power, control, charisma, & stage presence at TEN!

And no she did not win since she was not eligible to win for music politics in AGT,,, she got a personal win less than a year later when she signed on with Republic Records and getting most all of her stipulations she wanted in a contract that AGT would not except. A barefoot princess with a hypnotic voice. As usual, a vocal master piece. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on KZread. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. Why Angelina always performs barefoot At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on KZread. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. Musicians and singers always seem to appreciate Angelina most. It's many years since I played but loving music snd sensitivity to its nuances remain. I love the way Angelina shows such restraint. Her performances are never about showing off all her skills. Her voice serves the song not her ego. That is why she is a great artist and why it is a privilage watching her develope.

Yep, her innate understanding of music and what the next note should be or where the next pause should be is far beyond her earthly years. Her singing voice is nothing like that of her peers at that age. As a teacher, I've heard a ton of children sing, and she doesn't sing like a child.....at all. I think she's more than "an" old soul. I think she's several old souls, jazz musicians who left us awhile ago and decided to come together in this one child, if only to mess with us here on Earth. It doesn't even seem as though she rehearses a whole lot, because it all seems so unbelievably organic in its delivery. I think obsessive rehearsal would just screw it up.

Diana Ankudinova I was stunned to find that the first performance (Show "You are Super") I heard was when she was 14!!!! She's now 20 and still developing. She sings in Russian, French, English, German, Spanish and Arabic. The covers she performed on that show are very popular on KZread. Just wondering if you enjoyed Angelina’s performance here?

The whole performance is great, on par with famous gigs of the past, but this finale is unique - a great upgrade not found on the critically acclaimed Nina Simone version, nor on Michael Buble. But aside from the ending - everything about it is perfect: not only did the band do a great job, they synchronized seamlessly with Angelina's beautiful vocals, the lighting is top notch (remember that pulsating aura at the beginning), as is the camera work (remember the 360 degree tracking shot around her, along with the "hey" she said to us with her eyes). I just wish we could have seen more of the audience - that's the benefit of the Allsang pa grensen version a few months earlier (and I have to admit I like the finale there a bit better). If you've seen Nina Simone's official music video for this song, remember the occasion Angelina performed here - it's not just a stage performance, it's a charity event benefitting a Norwegian Charity supporting children. It is called "The Stream gir tilbake (= gives back)" because finalists from The Stream vocal contest performed there, along with established artists like Angelina. The event took place on Friday 30 December 2016 and has been broadcast live on TV 2 Norway from the event hall at Chateau Neuf Oslo (1,400 seats). btw I don't like the god given talent/old soul thing that much - there are at least two previous live performances of this song and a few rehearsals as well. So you can see the development quite well. As Angelina herself often sayd, "I'm always working hard to keep getting better" - and in this performance, she brought this song to perfection.
