The word you were looking for is. ( the band was overwhelming, or over powering her) But bands are normally loud. Then person who did the set ups never volume the Mike enough. But as usual Ceci, you were great. Your English was far better. Better than my Spanish will ever be 😄😃

Anytime the singer is directly in front of the band her mic is going to pick up the band , and she gets drowned out , but it would have been great if she had been higher up in the mix

Epica is another big name in the same subgenre (symphonic metal). In fact, the history of both bands is somewhat interconnected. Floor Jansen was in the same band with Mark Jansen who later founded Epica. Epica's lead female soprano is Simone Simons who is also a good friend of Floor Jansen. They have even performed together, for example, Stabat Mater Dolorosa, a beautiful Baroque piece performed in the middle of a metal concert by two classically trained metal singers. Angelina's first verse when she sings a cover is always key to our emotional response during her performance. She knows that, so much so that, using intuitively and purposely one of her "thousand voices" for a particular song, she makes us surrender to her for the rest of the song. She sings in the spirit of the cover song. We love her for that. Personally, I died a thousand times in her jazzy arms.

I like remembering words I recognize.

After seeing her rock the conductor in MANS WORLD, I keep watching HIM in these few videos, seeing how HE will react, and the rest of the orchestra. See their smiles - how much they enjoy supporting a singer like AJ. I also think recording quality is 99% the 'microphone' of this video-phone... I have a feeling this concert sounded 'well balanced' in person.

12years old Ceci, no not even halfway normal. Undeniable. Love it. Whether you react to it or not you have to see her rehearsal of the song with her little jazz band. It's precious. Love you, love your channel. 💕

Look at her stage presence, Angelina is so relaxed up there wow.

She sings with the presence of a forty year old woman. She doesn't sound like her but she reminds me of Judy Garland. Judy had the most beautiful depth to her voice and Angelina does as well. I love how Angelina holds a note, she's never in a hurry, she loves where she is at in the song. Judy loved to sing as well, pure passion for the music. Love you CECI!

I believe Julie London was famous for this song. Angelina just has a way of inflecting with her personal form of jazz that will rekindle interest in the genre, for sure. So much versatility, combined with a vocal ability that is just so welcome to the human soul. Can't get enough of her, especially when she invades this genre.

Yes, Julie London's performance of this song was my yardstick upon which I judged other singers performing this song and remained so for over 60 years. Then Angelina came along and history was rewritten.

My grandfather came from Spain. He worked for the Southern Pacific Rail Road as a labor book keeper. He worked from New York help build the rails with my grandmother having kids all across America! Stopped in California! He stressed to my Dad, uncles and aunts that they should give back to the US for giving them a good life. He always told them that they’re in the best country in the world. All of them joined the military, my dad fought in WWII. I too would like to visit. Sorry about me getting off on a tangent.

Angelina is 12 here (July 2018). Be sure to come back to this song in her 2017 performance in Proysenfestivalen. Both versions are incredible, but the 2017 one is less "bond film" and more "jazz club". It has become one of my all time favorites from Angelina. ...and while you are revisiting songs, be sure to go catch that "Every Time We Say Goodbye" from the rooftop of TV2 in 2016 ;) ...and I may have mentioned this one a couple times, but you still need to check out her first original "What is Life" (acoustic version on her official channel)

1. An important thing to remember about AJ is that she owns the rights to everything she sings and with aquired permissions for covers of other singers. 2. She refused to sign for a record deal through AGT and they relented and invited her to sing anyway. 3. She began singing at 18 months and due to her grandmothers influence, she was drawn to and fell in love with jazz and blues music. 4. She has been arranging most, if not all of her music performances since she was 8 years old. 5. Currently in 2022 she still performs barefoot, sews her own clothes, (the cloth is designed by her grandmother) and she stands 6 feet tall at 15 yeats old! 6. We all hope to enjoy her performances for many years to come. 7. BTW I'm 80 and have been involved privately in music since age 7.

I have been a stage coach all my life. This girl, Angelina, is the most impressive artist I've seen on stage. First time I saw her was at the Proysen concert 2017. At first I didn't believe what I saw and hear. An 11 years old girl as a lead singer with amasingly stage control. So many things can go wrong in a live performance. But she was unbelievably relaxed and deliver a top professional concert with ease. On top of that I never ever heard a singer with such an emotionally spiritual power. By the way I love your reactions too.

She sings most all songs better than the original! I love that she sings 'classics' as opposed to the songs out on radio today. This, and the fact that she does these songs so incredibly well, is just wonderful! I could listen to her and her songs all day long. She is one of a kind.... and I thank God for her!! Did you see the 1st chair clarinetist when Angelina hit that first low note??!!! This orchestra does a fund raising album every year and they choose different artists for the different songs. Well this year 2018 I think this is from that year the orchestra choose Angelina to do the whole album that's how much they thought of her and her abilities. I would say that 99% of those who play with her love her to death and they usually end up calling her 'The Boss'. Have you heard her at 10 sing, 'Feeling Good', that was a magical performance. Then she is opening for Nora Jones in South Korea and Nora asks for one more song and the ease and familiarity that a 10 year old relates to the 40,000 people in attendance is amazing. Then she sings, 'Put A Spell On You' and sings that flawlessly , even though she will never sing that song like she did that studio version, the audience interaction was priceless. Great reaction, How can anyone not love Angelina's voice?

As usual your 100 percent spot on Ceci!! Everyone who sees this entire performance with this band laments the fact she is many times drowned out by it. That being said close your eyes and there is a 40, 50 year old seasoned jazz/blues singer singing. As you said on your first reaction to Angelina she was born, inhaled jazz right from the start. Super reaction/analysis as usual! 💯💥

Try her other outdoor performance of cry me a river- smaller band that does not overwhelm.

Love your reaction Ceci! Yes, it is the same band as in "It's A Man's World" and it's done at the same venue on the same day. Both are remarkable performances by Angelina, but the band is (again) too loud. It's not their fault. It's a big marching band and big marching bands are loud. I wish both performances had better mixing, but I love them both anyway.
