Angelina Jordan is a music prodigy she started singing at age of 1.5 years and more than that she started with Billy Holiday Jazz. She has about 170 videos on KZread, so if you decide to take the journey and "go down the rabbit hole" or "Jump on the Angelina train" you are in for the treat of a lifetime. I'm 67 and I have NEVER heard anyone that sings with so much emotion and feeling as this young lady. It's like she has lived every song she sings. She ALWAYS sings barefoot in public in remembrance of a young orphaned, homeless girl she met when she was 6 and in the Middle East. Mello, after repeating, what 9Ballr had to say, he is also trustworthy, I forgot something. In late summer of 2014 Angelina Jordan Astar was declared "THE NATIONAL TREASURE OF NORWAY" by the people, the government and the royal family. This was confirmed by a few Norwegians, when I asked about it. Every musician in Scandinavia felt honored to work with her. A experienced military band conductor asked through a rehearsal the 11 year old for advise. I think that shows how respected AJ is.

Believe it or not, she hasn't been officially marketed to the world yet (family decision). They want her to finish her education and have some kind of a life as a teenage girl before she commits herself to her career full time. A note on her age: She auditioned for Norway's Got Talent when 7, the video went viral. She turned 8 by the time she won it. The natural talent is overwhelmingly evident. Her voice is rich and textured at 13 for Bohemian Rhapsody, and promises even more to come - which you can hear in a recent clip of her singing the beginning of it very recently - acapella! You'll get a lot of recommendations for "I Who Have Nothing." She's *8* when singing it; many people will tell you she's 6, but that's an error that got imbedded in "internet facts" and won't go away. Her growing-in-teeth don't lie! Anyway, for a reactor like you that's not the best song, wait awhile to do it. I implore you, trust me. A great choice to proceed to instead is "Feeling Good" at 10, the version at Gir Tilbake (somewhere in Norway). The power is there! Enough to knock you over. Also the range. She started going to an after school music program when quite young, that helped develop the control she has over her voice. You noted her ability to use runs in just the right way, not stuck in randomly to show off. The Bohemian Rhapsody you just heard is *her arrangement.* That's the deep down relationship Angelina has with music. Finally, a suggestion I make often: When reacting to a song in a talent contest, as soon as the song ends, pause and give us your raw immediate reaction. Then listen to the judges.

Correction: The frequently recommended song at "age 6" is "I Put a Spell On You." She's 8 in that studio recording, *both* front teeth are fully grow in, same as her finals at Norway's Got Talent at 8. "I Who Have Nothing" was recorded before that, but after her NGT debut. The internet is full of errors, but the teeth don't lie!

Brought tears to my eyes I think she sung it better than Freddie and I know almost ever word to 80% of Queen's songs I love them so much. In fact I hated Vanilla Ice so much for Ice Ice Baby because I kept thinking I was about to hear Under Pressure. But man this girl has real talent not auto tune or synthetic anything.

Hello Mello. Absolutely awesome reaction! This is my first time seeing your channel and I have subscribed. I was just checking your channel info and I see that you just started like 1,5 month ago. Based on this reaction alone, I know for a fact that you have a future in the reactions business. I'm looking very much forward to seeing more reactions to Angelina from you. Getting on board the Angelina train at just the right time, though you may wanna hurry up if you wanna catch up with her stuff before the train leaves the station for real for real. She has roughly 170 performances out on her socials, mostly covers, spanning 8 different genres, but also 5 originals. Angelina is 16 years old, as of January 10th, and as it happens, she is just finishing her work on her upcoming album, her first since she signed with Republic Records in 2020 at the age of 14. Angelina is Republic Records' highest priority new artist. As per the agreement with her family, they haven't promoted her at all. Her family has always wanted to allow her to finish school and have an as normal childhood as possible. Like I told you, she is now 16 and has just graduated from high school. Let's see if this is the time she and her family think the time is right. We will get a lot of answers with that album. Angelina now lives in LA, and recently came back to Norway for a few concerts and performances. Congrats Mello, you have just discovered the most accomplished child vocalist of all time, Angelina Jordan. Please take the time to read the biography I compiled for my all time favorite musical artist. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on KZread. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was considered a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina speaks Norwegian, Farsi, English and has sung a song in Japanese. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. Angelina plays the piano and guitar and also paints. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. *Why Angelina always performs barefoot* At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on KZread went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration. Angelina’s family took her to United States, Brazil, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Singapore among other corners of Earth, to perform for heads of state and to help raise money for charity. All before Angelina turned 14. A 9 years old, Angelina recorded a music video covering the 1956 Jay Hawkin’s classic, “I Put a Spell On You”. The video begins by showing Angelina writing her “wishes” for how she wants to perform the song. Angelina has always created her own arrangements for her cover songs. At age 10 and just a week before her 11th birthday, Angelina recorded a demo of “I’m Still Holding Out for You”. Her family never pursued having that recording officially released but someone leaked it on a KZread video. Thankfully, everyone involved with that song is now ok with the leaked version. Many angels (fans) believe this is one of Angelina’s best performances. When Angelina was 11, she performed a number of concerts in Norway with a jazz/rock band. Those concerts included up to 14 songs, each remarkably performed. Angelina seems to be at her best when on stage, never nervous, only 100% confident. On June 27, 2018, at age 12, Jordan performed “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. She has said that was the high point of her young career which was already in it’s 6th year. During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each. In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter. Angelina was eliminated after covering Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT which would give Simon control over her career. Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on KZread. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. A great resource! Thank you. And I'm glad you got one detail mostly right that almost everyone gets wrong. She was 7 when recording "I Who Have Nothing," or perhaps has just turned 8. It was somewhere during the NGT timeline. That other recording in the same studio was done even later. How do I know? The teeth don't lie. Of the two front teeth, the left has barely erupted at her NGT audition. Look at 1.18 in the "I Who.." recording, the left is over halfway grown in. So there's no way she was 6 during the other song done in this studio. Same dental proof. Both front teeth fully grown in, so definitely 8. (Not listing even the title, YT sometimes drops Comments that make a lot of recommendations. Those bots are vicious!) That age 6 error occurred when the song first appeared and is now ineradicably embedded into the internet. A tiny quibble. I think that recording studio was at the after-school program she went to, not her actual school. Or was it off-site completely? I haven't seen the location identified elsewhere , but then I haven't followed the details as deeply as some.

Also, her studio recording of "Hurt" actually was done when 6 or an early 7. She has almost all her baby teeth. The right front tooth was apparently the first to drop out and the first to grow in.

Great reaction! There's actually a special reason why she performs barefoot and it will tug at your heart! One of the Angels (what Angelina's fans call themselves) down below will tell you the exact story of how this came to be and why she still does it now at the age of 16. Correction, "7th Heaven" was done shortly after her 15th birthday. Look for the "Official Studio Performance." It and the music video are on her YT channel, Angelina Jordan Official. Easy to mix up.

She is great too bad the industry got to her. I feel bad for Billie Eilish too. Simon is salty...he never smiles during her performance! AGT demands that winning singers sign exclusive contracts; Angelina and her family made it plain early on that she was gonna sign with anyone but Simon! This is why it took her so long to be featured on the American version of the show, despite winning top honors on Norway's Got Talent at age seven. Angelina wants to decide when and where she performs; Simon's contracts would have robbed her of any creative control.
