She rewrite the lyrics the day before, because seems that Sara (her mother) didn't allow to sing the original lyrics. Good for Sara.

Two other Amy hit songs that Angelina covers to perfection are 'Valerie' and 'Rehab'. In 'Rehab' her mom had her change to lyrics, which she did in a unique, amazing way, changing the theme to 'not wanting to go to school' instead of Amy's 'not wanting to go to rehab'. Pure genius on Angelina's part, for sure.

My version of "Back to Black by Amy Winehouse" I had 1 day to change the lyrics, hope you like my version! As we understand it, Sara, Angelina's mother, read the lyrics the day before the recording session and told her daughter she couldn't sing the Amy Winehouse lyrics. Undaunted, Angelina went straight to work and wrote new lyrics. She only needed a couple takes to create the video. She was 10 years old.

Such a beautiful rendition you didn't seem to even notice the lyrics had been changed. I'm sure the Angels have already filled you in on the backstory so I won't repeat it here. Angelina loved Amy Winehouse and has covered 1/2 dozen of her songs. In some of them, like 'Valerie' she sounds very much like Amy's original performance. I'm kind of tired of disapproval of a comparison. I believe the comparison is almost always meant as a compliment. Amy had an incredible voice and there are certainly similarities in their style. Angelina can and often does sing very much in the same style. Both are masters. I think Angelina is much more versatile and even more masterful of her voice. The orchestra also deserves a shoutout. They are incredible and illustrate that the best musicians in the world are always pleased and honored to have the opportunity to play for her. 🔥🔥🔥♥👣

Angelina had a short time to rewrite the lyrics to this song when her mother objected to her singing the original 'dark' lyrics. So these are improvised lyrics that Angelina wrote even at the last minute, even on the drive to the studio to record this. You see her checking the words on the music stand in this recording. As usual, she needed little rehearsing to get this performance; She had the music already in her head but did refer to her new lyrics from time to time on the music stand. Few singers, at any age, can do a recording in one take as Angelina often does. She doesn't just cover songs, she consumes them, digests them, and relaunches them with her distinctive spin. Very nice reaction: you know she rewrote the lyrics for the song - her mum insisted and Angelina is on record saying she had 24 hrs to rewrite them ! That morning she was at a theme park with her friends and there is a video of her in a car on the way to the studio working on the lyrics :) Also: I think her hand movements in this are so beautiful - as often actually.

She was barefoot in 2014, when she sang at the Nobel Peace Prize, first for the audience, then to the laureantes....in November....in Oslo/Norway...This would be Northern Canada on your continent. She almost had pneumonia, but 10 days later, sick like a dog, she sang in Sweden at a charity concert "I'll be there". She is a trooper.

It has been said many times that Angelina reminds people of Amy Winehouse. But Angelina has her own unique style, even though she can channel Amy. Some get upset about the analogy to Amy, but I think it is an incredible compliment to be mentioned in the same breath as a legend. On another note, I love your relaying the story of her bare feet at 6 yrs old. For me, it created an emotional and inspirational bond. For future reaction I highly recommend her 9 yr old TV interview with Ann Lindmo about her book she wrote about the shoes. She reads from her diary, which brought tears. It is followed by a separate video where she sings Unchained Melody. By the way, you are both beautifully young. You could be my kids! Love you guys. Peace out.

I've written about it elsewhere, but I think that the most surprising thing is not that AJ replaced the song's lyrics in twenty-four hours, which is already remarkable, but that she didn't change a single note in the score, so that the musicians she was to record with didn't have to modify their scores.

Great reaction guys. Angelina is 10 in this performance.As she mentions in the description she had a day to rewrite the lyrics. The original lyrics by Amy Winehouse were not appropriate for a little girl. There is video of Angelina and her friends at an amusement park on the morning of the recording. She is screaming on a roller coaster. Maybe not what you would normally want to do on the day of recording session. She apparently put the finishing touches on the new lyrics in the car on the way to the session. You can see her referring to her lyrics during the performance as they were so new. Pretty impressive for a 10 year old.

An ironic thing about the viewing numbers is that someone like Angelina who has so many reactors to her talent out on YT is that she doesn't get the counts from all of the reactors views. I agree with you about the popularity of "I Put A Spell On You" by Angelina. I see a new reactor to that song every day. I can't imagine how many people have actually watched that performance.

Most people will watch a video a handful of times and then add the song to their Spotify Playlist or other music app. Most of the time I listen to Angelina after we react it's through KZread Music. I have no idea if those listens carry over to views on the video itself. Not sure how I feel about react views counting towards the original views as those people aren't really watching just to hear the song again. They are watching for the person's reaction. I've never had the desire to listen to a song and instead of listening I go and watch a reaction.

But watching the face of a person who has never heard her before reminds me even more about how I felt the first time. Even better is that many of the new fans are so impressed by whatever they just heard, that they have expectations of what the next song will sound like and then are blown away with something very different. I don't think of a song I want to listen to because the YT algorithm has a dozen or more pop up every time I am on YT and there will be new songs and new reactors.

Angelina’s Destiny It is Angelina's wish to become a SUPERSTAR, and she has stated this many times, we contribute to this goal by purchasing her wonderful music, and the posting of positive statements and giving a thumbs up. Since she has been performing for almost 10 years across the world and knows the amount of work, she and her family have to exert to reach her goal we should honor her wishes. Amy Winehouse was very special, but she did not have a structured existence like AJ has had from the beginning. Just like Whitney Houston, drugs took Amy, and when I say drugs, I include alcohol. The future of AJ's destiny is up to her after she is an adult, and the family is no longer in control. I do believe, since her manager is her uncle Mike, and he has her best interest in mind she will walk the line for many years. My goal is to support Angelina for as long as I live, because she has affected me like no one else ever has with that signature, storytelling being that she is. Let's think positive, and remember Angelina, and Angelina alone is in control of her destiny. One other thing, she needs to stay the hell away from LA/Hollywood, she should move somewhere quiet, and only go there when she must for her career.

Laugh in stead of Black is just one of many modifications she made of this text and the funny thing is this was very first time the Orchestra heard this Song .. she wrote the final touches of the lyrics in the Limousin on the way to this rehearsal, what You saw in this clip is what actually happened.. this was a part of longer TV documentary where she was followed from her home and in the Limousin to the rehearsal place and when she entered and started to Sing was what You just reacted to..

The most watched by far, is Bohemian rhapsody at AGT. But that one is not on her YT channel. This is the second recording. The first recording sounded beautiful to me, however Angelina's reaction was 'yuck' aimed at her own part: she is very critical of her own performances :-) Some people indeed get perturbed when she is compared to other artists. I'd like to think that Angelina herself would not mind at all, as those artists are her inspirations. To me she is all of those and 100% herself.

Thank you for pointing out Angelina's bare feet again. It must not be forgotten or taken for granted. There would be no Amy Winehouse without Billie Holiday or Ella Fitzgerald or Aritha Franklin or all the other greats of the past. Amy Whitehouse reintroduced that jazz soul sound that was missing from popular music for years. The texture and emotion that Angelina sings with is very remanisant of Amy, plain and simple. Yes, Amy's lifestyle, brought on by the weight of sudden fame, we all hope Angelina avoids. Amy was a tremendous musician who should be recognized as one of the all time greats and being compared to her is no shame. Angelina is a talent all her own, a child prodigy who has no limitations on her vocal skill, something Amy and Adele, Duffy or any of the other singers Angelina gets compared to do have. We've heard Angelina sing in any range, tone, style or genre. I doubt Angelina is offended by the Amy comparison, she knows music and can hear the great music Amy was doing.

I’d rather her do her own take on the song than an excellent copy of Amy Winehouse singing it. I’d say the original is my preference but but she has got a future in music there’s no doubt when she finds her own voice and style.
