I think adults often underestimate the strength of feelings kids have and their imagination. She's very good in associating her own imagination with it. But when she pours her own heartbreak into a song it even feels some 10 times stronger, e.g. Million Miles. Thats the power of writing your own stories.

Her heart beats with a cadence, her mind thinks in poetry, her soul feels love's embrace and her voice delivers all.

It's territory which is unknown to us and we can only wonder how much of it is instinctive to Angelina vs the knowledge she has acquired during her early years to give her direction. TR, I think we best settle in and enjoy what she does for us musically and inspirationally.

Maybe the best AJ reaction I've ever seen -- and I've seen most of them. From the moment I saw Angelina sing Summertime on Norways' Got Talent it was clear that she is an exceptional musical genius, an unbelievable combination of innate vocal ability and musical comprehension. What is so unusual is the way that she has continued to develop over the years. So many prodigies flame out. But, as you say so well, Angelina's sense of herself as an artist is so fundamental and so grounded. All the people around her who have guided her career have helped to balance her development so perfectly. It is such a pleasure to watch someone this confident and sure of herself live up to the full potential she showed as a young child.

Correct. Listening to her kind of makes me feel bad for other singers who will never be able to even share the stage with her.

If you realize, how many great artist from Billy Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Adele, Amy Winehouse and so on...she covered and internalized, always making them her own, it appears somehow ingenious, in the way how she prepared her development. On the other hand it doesn't make me really wonder. That doesn't mean, she doesn't surprise me nearly with every song...

Angelinas parents sent her to a school in Oslo which teaches students of Art, Writing, Music and song, to deconstruct and then reconstruct and only then to perform. She has learnt her lessons well.

Yes. Though disappointed that seemed to give up on overload near the end.

While we can hear similarities with other vocalists but what sets Angelina apart from all others is her ability to make the listener FEEL her music.

This is an incredibly difficult song to sing and her timing is amazing...she sings so effortlessly ....makes it look easy and u know as a vocal coach u cannot teach this! She was born singing right out of the womb!!! Your reactions are always just so accurate and intelligent...spot on....you would love her own original 7th heaven...an upbeat jazzy song...love your reactions ♡

As always Christy, your analysis and emotional response to an Angelina performance is Outstanding!! 10+ For me, this is Angelina's best performance, but maybe that's because it's the last one I've heard. She does that to me a lot. You make so many good technical points about her voice and this performance. But can you help me understand why listening to this makes me tear up every time I hear it---well over 100 times now. I feel like she just had this experience and sat down, wrote this song, and sang it while the emotions are still raw within her. How does she do that?? And that's a gigantic difference between her version and anyone else's, including the original. It just feels like this is HER song. I've never known a singer who can consistently take someone else's song, and make it Her song. We can analyze what she is doing till there's nothing left to analyze, and we're left with the reality that she is an unexplainable phenom. You’ve said the things I’ve thought for several years about Angelina’s singing. She’s at a different level, and that’s really an objective evaluation-not just praise from a devoted fan. Her voice has depth, texture, and resonance that is addictive and calming at the same time. And in addition to that natural gift, she has honed her technical skills just beautifully. When I hear Adele, whom I love, I am moved by her power and emotion. Angelina can match that, but then also gives us tenderness, nuance, and her truly unmatched ability to live the lyrics like no one I’ve ever heard. It’s like Angelina is singing in 3D compared to most other vocalists. Her bottomless vocal toolkit gives her such command over emotional songs like this, but also provides complete authenticity for jazz and blues. Throw in that mesmerizing voice, and it’s just not fair. Without any reservation, she is the best singer I’ve ever heard.

You don't know how happy I was to read the word resonance, just completes the analysis of AJ's voice in my head in a beautiful way!

So far everything I have experienced in regards AJ is absolute perfection. What you point out as straining to achieve a note I just don’t see or hear. I have been on this earth for now 73 years and experienced great vocalist but none the likes of Angelina Jordan. It is not just her unique voice it is her total being that moves me and others like no one else can. AJ has the rare talent to translate and manipulate a song so that it penetrates what we refer to as a soul.

I recently read about Adele’s surgery years ago and subsequent damage to her voice tears after that. I wondered whether Angelina was susceptible to the same and I was happy to hear you comment that she is talking care of her instrument. Thank you for this much anticipated reaction.

Congratulations Christie, your comments were as accurate as ever and very happy! Angelina changed the perception of musical talent of many people, became the balm for all her fans worldwide. All I Ask in my view is a ritual of passage, where the vocal experiences she has lived, are converging to extreme artistic competence. I don't know anyone with their predicates and their incredible potential to heal the world.

She’s one of a kind, she can sound like twenty different singers, as soon as she opens her mouth, you know exactly who it is. She’s amasing.

Agreed. But “Adele who?” C’mon now. Axl Rose has the largest vocal range of any whoever lived. When Angelina covers a G’n’R song, she’ll be like “Axl who?”. I love AJ, but to disregard other amazing singers is ludicrous. Next, since she covered MJ’s healing, they gonna say she is better. Still haven’t seen her dance yet.

@@captainscarletz Listen to them all. Every genre. You’ll appreciate all music more. Grew up on classical and 50-60s music (parents-in-charge). Then went from heavy metal to rap and punk, then alternative, to hardcore EDM, to even country. I actually listened to a ton of country when I was young. But I hated it then. My point is, I can listen and know all kinds of music and even know the background. It also helps when you have friends of different diversities and tastes.

@@captainscarletz Watch Guns’nRoses “Sweet Child of Mine” first. Then “Paradise City” and then “Welcome to the Jungle”. All official videos. I also like all the bands you mentioned. Even though, I only ever play Radiohead when I want unwind and go to sleep. My favorite band all-time is Tool, followed by Rage Against the Machine” and then Metallica. I’m not going to list my favorite rappers and rap-groups, classical pianists and composers. You’re probably not at all interested in that. But you should check those genres out. Don’t limit yourself.

@@captainscarletz If you’re a fan of PF, look into the background of Syd Barrett (original lead-singer). He inspired The Wall. Even the band denies it after kicking him out. Money and all. But he got released from a mental facility and released “The Madcap Laughs”. What a waste of money. It was a ridiculous album. The band tried their best to help him on his album and in life. But he was gone.

Of course, Angelina Jordan's voice is extraordinarily beautiful and everyone can hear it. I also see that this young girl gives off a magnificent soul in her behavior, in the person she is in the depths of her and it is this beauty who can be heard when she sings and who touches our hearts all. This makes her unique.

Genius is the least you can say about Angelina Jordan. And graceful, and gentle and soothing..., while she rips our hearts out. Thank you for this wonderfull reaction.

[Deborah] I agree about your assessment of Adele's talent who is an interesting subject in itself. At 28 years old Adele developed nodes on her vocal chords, the same infliction that destroyed Julie Andrews career, the only difference being it happened to Julie Andrews late in her career. Since her operation to remove those nodes I am not sure what she has done other than loose alot of weight which she was highly criticized for. Personally, I think she looks great but in today's toxic environment there are too many people want to impose their will on every one else. Right now I am not sure what Adele is doing.

Followed her for years, and Angelina is a once in a lifetime talent. I will peruse your purpose video, as we all need that in our lives. Thank God for my parents who raised me right to appreciate life, and know that we are all capable of doing good for our communities we live in. Your reactions are excellent

I'm a grown man, not yet elderly, in my 70s. I have over the years become pretty jaded with the 'effects' singers put into their voices, and I can recognize the difference between talent and hoked-up mediocrity. I have easily listened to Angelina's version of this song a dozen times or more. Every single time, it's involuntary, I get tears in my eyes and chills all over. Her voice resonates through my body, I can feel it in my spine. This is something I absolutely have never seen or heard before. Never. She's 15 here, still just a girl. It's almost scary to think what she will be doing in 10 years.

Such a treasure. A huge flawless sapphire, perfectly faceted with vocal techniques on every facet. Her greatest difficulty is finding a microphone which can properly capture her full dynamic range. If it is sensitive enough to capture the nuances of her low breathy emotions, it gets overloaded when she belts the chorus.

Kristi, thank you so much for such an insightful and well explained reaction. I really don't have much to add to what you said. One thing that comes to mind and sheds some light into why Angelina establishes such a deep emotional connection with the listener is that she's a great storyteller. She uses the already huge vocal arsenal in such an intelligent way that she takes us on a journey; a vibrato there, a vocal fry here, some breathy voice, making that journey so enticing, so hypnotic, we can't tear ourselves from it. After "Million Miles" she released a new original song "7th Heaven" on April 8th. It would be great if you could react to the studio version. You won't be disappointed! 😊 Well, when did Angelina disappoint??? Never, at least not me 😉 BTW, in that outstanding lick you're referring to I'm also listening some Christina Aguilera, do you?

Great to see you back with Angelina. I read that Angelina recorded all of her recent songs, in this studio, in a single day. Her 'All I Ask' is one of her best ever.

Angelina can take all these covers and make them sound better with more feeling and emotion, she kills almost every song that she has done, years from now when up and coming singers are covering her songs will they capture some of what she does here? time will tell. she has such a bright future! let's just wait for more magic to happen.😅

I know absolutely nothing about singing and music,but this Angelina Jordan is a different creature altogether! I,m 73 and have heard some great singers over the years,but this young woman gets my attention from the first note and you can't help but be mesmerized the whole song!She is just the best that there is!!! And she's getting to be pretty good looking also!

I enjoyed your reaction very much. I am a huge fan of this girl. With all her vocal skill and artistry, the thing that stands out for me as most unique is the intimacy she creates with the audience. Her voice is a weapon, destroying all your defenses, leaving you a puddle of quivering jello, just wanting more.

She sings this song better than Adele; I don;t care who knows it. Until about 3 years ago, Adele was my favourite female singer, but my God! what this girl can do!

Who cares if she sings a song better than Adele? Without the original of anything, there's nothing to improve from. Ever think of that? I'm sure Adele is somewhere crying in her 20 million dollar mansion staring at all her Grammys thinking of all the singers better than her.

@@marquis08 I'm sure Adele would be thrilled with this version. Despite what fans think, artists aren't in competition with each other. I think Adele is brilliant and so, obviously, does Angelina, but Angelina's artistry is to take great songs and make them greater. I think she usually succeeds. :)

Angelina voice is more warmer softer and inviting so relaxed soothing I get chills sometimes tears that’s the emotion of the song she can send to you I said her spirit and your spirit

Hi, she is tremendously talented she can put her own spin's but she respects the original artist without taking the song away from the artist, she is a genius she is 15yr old and she wrote 5 original songs she picks all the songs and makes changes she wants, very very humble also she gave a good portion of the money that she won on Norway got talent to children that needs shoes and clothes she did a few conserts for charity, I have been watching her since 8yr old I just adore her!
