I think a lot of us ask the same question at some point, stop and ask why this girl affects us all the same way, goosebumps and chills when she sings and hypnotizes us so effortlessly. I love how this begins then works up to the full performance--a solitary piano player in a sea of nothing. Then, one by one, the full orchestra is added. Then, of course... Angelina! And the little waves at the audience remind us that despite her totally professional performance, she's still ten. You skipped the next song, "Faded."

Why did you get goosebumps? Because that's what Angelina does. Probably for the same reason I was already wiping tears from my eyes even though I have heard this a hundred times. I get that "Proud Grandpa" feeling every time I know someone is about to get amazed AGAIN, even though I'm not her Grandpa.

I absolutely love the groundhog day effect she has. over and over again we discover her for the first time.

Thank you Gabi. as other's in comments have said the second part of this concert is such a beautiful Alan Walker song "Faded" and Angelina just slays it as always. Hope you get to see that one. Our young 10 year old genius is here live before 1000's and likely millions on Alan's livestream...what a pro at 10.

Alan Walker's music is not usually done with an orchestra. It is usually all electronic, though he has various singers do the vocals. I just love this. And clearly, this was a big moment for Angelina. Norway loves her---she is named a National Treasure of Norway. Sweden, I think, is also fond of her. This song with her voice just moves me---I want to dance, to shout with jubilation. She sings a second song at this concert, "Faded." Alan is a world-famous DJ, producer, writer, and who knows what else and now he is touring with his redone best music and introducing these songs to his fans. And the music is so beautiful. The younger crowd knows all the words to the songs and there seems to be plenty of libations flowing too. The concert has a very large attendance, and it is being livestreamed to millions around the world. Would you turn over the fate of your concert to a 10-year-old who sings the first 2 songs? This girl , although she is known by many as a prime jazz vocalist, and she dearly the jazz genre ,and is one the best at it, one can not limit her in any way to as just a this or that kind of singer. Angelina is just to talented to be put in any genre box. The moment you do her next cover or her next original song will blow the ends out that box and leave you in awe of her abilities. One of Angelina's powers is the ability to not be nervous about any performance she is anxious to get started with her performance but has no apprehension about it just imagine being 10 years old and performing in such a performance as this.

She's a bona fide angel, looking angelic here, singing an angelic song that sounds like an angelic lullaby to angelic musical accompaniment. Another similar performance is when AJ sang for an enormous crowd in Seoul by invitation from Norah Jones. She also performed on Japanese radio where she to everybody's surprise sang in Japanese language.

It's been said that she was slightly ill for this performance with a sore throat and a light fever she had performed some other venues prior to this performance and they were outdoors and it was winter and of course she was barefoot.

@@GabiSRealist When you listen to that video you will hear Angelina have a bit of a problem with the higher notes. Angelina had gotten ut of her sick bed to honor her commitment. She had been running a over 100* temperature and a sore throat. So factor those things in with you critique of her performance. There is another performance of Angelina singing Michael Jacksons 'Whose Loving You' where she is dealing with the same thing.

@@BarrySowder you're correct sir. I was trying to play the song with the highest notes that she struggled with and that one stuck first. But the minute I saw that title you gave. I said OOPS! Thank you. I have sung sick as well and those high notes suffer especially with a sore throat.

Gabi, I have seen this video umpteen times, but I have never seen this introduction by Alan before. It’s a treasure! You also must watch her second song at this concert-Faded. No, you’re not her No 1 fan, but it’s something to strive for! She didn’t arrange this, but I think he meant that the way she sang it, her version, made it special. In the next song, the audience sings along with her, so you know they already know Alan’s song.

Your a real likeable person! Honest & you think of others before yourself type (Good quality, don't over do it!) but yes, she almost makes you want to cry. She is epic in a way and you want to protect her, because she is the symbol of all that is good! Since it looks like this video didn't include the next piece, "Faded". Maybe you and Florrie should catch the compete performance (using another video that has both "Sing Me to Sleep" and "Faded" included). - Only one suggestion, be sure to jump back a few seconds before restarting the music (back arrow on PC jumps in 5 sec increments). This helps, as sometimes the last verses can lend power to the verses which follow from them. - Cheers!

I recommend you watch the full video with Florrie. That way at least "Faded" would be new to both of you.

Hard to believe she was sick singing these to songs. She also sang for Quincy Jones 85th birthday with a full orchestra it’s a rehearsal of fly me to the moon, you might enjoy that too. I think Angelina Jordan doesn’t go around bragging about all the Jazz festivals, concerts she has done in many lands besides Europe. It might surprise you to know that she has done the song for the opening of the movie the hating game. So many great things to enjoy!
