    Another great comparison! What i understood after watching most of your vids is that getting good working conditions, like heating the workpiece, the clear, have a nice cleaning routine, a clean workspace and ofcourse adjusting the spray guns and having the skills (and the compressor) to use them right for the settings is almost as important as the spray guns quality, that's why i think more expensive spray guns aren't "needed" to get the job done but if you are a professional, they can guarantee that you will deliver the same results every day even when the conditions aren't always optimal.

    Hi buddy, You are 100% correct. All the preparation work and particularly air quality is the most important part. You can have the best spray gun in the world with the best clear coats but if your air quality coming through the line or your panel isn't prepared properly you will not get good results, its guaranteed you will not. That's why in a few of my air filter videos, I stress how important it is to spend money on air quality over the quality of the gun, it really is important. You summed it up perfectly, very much appreciated, thank you 👍

I bought the w400wb to use for metallics and the ws400 for clear/solids ... The WS, WBX, and WB will all spray clear as well as each other, which is extremely well, the manufacturer likes to pigeon hole everything as it make the consumer think they need all of the kit which they just don't. Hi Pete, very enjoyable video and a great comparison between the two guns👌as you know I'm a bit of a WS400 Series2 fan boy but it doesn't surprise me one bit that you can get just as good of a finish with a gun that's half the price, we all know that it's way over priced but like you I had to have one🙄🤭both guns did a great job on the clear and as you said you can't split the two on the finish but you can on the price🤔 I think the Series 2 gun is now available in it's full range in the USA Pete as I saw a review of it on Brian's Paint Society YT channel, I didn't quite agree with some of his findings and setup advice but if it works for him then who am I to say different, you might want to give that video a watch Pete😁😅 Thanks mate👍

I mentioned the air dry as people contacted me on Instagram with varying problems they were having with MM2 after my clear coat comparison video. One of the things that keeped cropping up was that most were using the air dry. Maybe it was a dodgy batch or something, or maybe it just doesn't suit some people. • @peteshobbies5383

    @peteshobbies5383

    5 ай бұрын

    You are always going to struggle to power a bigger gun with smaller compressors. The LPH80 uses 2.2cfm, and the lowest consumption of bigger guns is going to be almost 4 times that amount. Take a look at the Kiwami4 BA4J. It's around 7.8cfm at 29psi and give good results, more money than they used to be, but still good value. The ANI F160 is good value but uses more air, so it will be more difficult for you to power

They are both excellent, with the WB being a slightly less fierce version overall, so it will depend on your style. Both work well with waterbourn paints, helped by their split tip, and again, they won't have a problem with UHS clears I get all my Japanese stuff from paintingtooljapan, and they are very good, I get any Iwata parts I need as well, so they are available if you need them, I contact them via there Instagram page as the price is often a little cheaper, I presume because they don't have to pay ebay fees. Pete, according to Iwata the Kiwami4 WBX is specifically designed for waterborne paints. If that's true why does it do such a great job with solvent clearcoat. Any idea as to why this is the case?

  • @peteshobbies5383

    @peteshobbies5383

    5 ай бұрын

    Hi Sataman, I'm really not sure why they market it like this. It's a better clear coat gun than a waterbourn base coat gun. Sure, it will do waterbourn paints fine, I think that's down to the split tip, waterbourn tends to be thicker and harder to atomise, so the tip helps break it up on exit but the same properties also suit clear coats. I'm sure it is all down to marketing. We are being pushed down the waterbourn route for obvious reasons, so I think it's just the manufacturer taking the correct line. The W400WB or Kiwami4 WB are again marketed as a waterbourn gun but in the UK there are some being sold in kit that come as a pair, one having "Clear" factory etched on it, which is no surprise as the WB is also an excellent clear coat gun. Cheers mate, hope you are keeping well 👍

    You need to be more professional with your process. #1 proper cleaning fundamentals #2 proper storage and labels on bottles.#3 microwave products is not the best idea,metal temperature is best#4 10 to 12 in fan should be recommended. Why l am telling this is not to belittle you,your videos go around the world,try to get the proper training,so in return you provide the fundamentals to the refinish community.

    Hi buddy, I don't mind people giving me advice for one minute, but if you put something like "proper cleaning fundamentals," what does that mean 🤔 as in what are you saying I should do in your opinion. The next thing you mentioned is "proper storage and labels on bottles" , the bottles are labeled in a way I understand, there is only me who needs to understand so I can't see your point Next point, what is "10 to 12 in fan should be recommended" ? Why do you think this? I will leave your comment up so we can all see it. Then, we will see your reply to clarify what you are saying unless, of course, you choose to remove it, cheers, Mate 👍
