Nah, they foreshadowed him turning into a shadow priest in BFA. Even though hearthstone isn't lore there is also a shadow Anduin card so I think it's still more likely he turns shadow.

I think the deviance from the light is part of the story arch to him becoming the “redeemed hero”, and the Arathi will help him discover his true power. There was a comic showing him in the future leading the Army of Light as an old man, so unless they are deviating from that idea, I assume Anduin will attain mastery of the light or even a greater power behind it.

The war within could actually be about the war going inside Anduin. I trust that this would be the narative, the road of Anduin till he reaches peak, as in Velen's Vision. A road that peaks with the war inside him while Azeroth is going through the same type of war.

Meaning it's not as permanent or drastic as some make it out to be. He's in a bad spot and gets his dads expirience as a warrior now, but once he belives in himself again the light is right with him.

He's a paladin so he lost all of his power. He can always regain this though. It's more of a temporary thing as long as your alignment doesn't change which his probably didn't. His family line were always the strongest warriors of the alliance though. So maybe he can turn into a badass now.

Holy crap! I just realized, TWW is about work burnout. Anduin, Magni and Thrall all were cut off from their thing (light, azeroth, the elements), they ahve a thing that is what they do, their job, and they find that due to their own internal changes they are unable to do what they do. It's burnout.

You still have to consider it is possible to still wield the light regardless of your goals and morals, just need to think you are doing "the right thing"

Anduin is probably very angry and thinking "screw the light, you weren't there for me when I needed you", but I think he just needs to be reminded of the signs he has seen himself, when he was at his most vulnerable and Zovaal almost had him, he saw his father and Saurfang, I think there's allot in that vision, I don't think it was just a memory! About Fel, this is why I don't think Varian Wrynn's soul was destroyed, something took his spirit before he died, go back to the Legion cinematic and look at Gul'Dan, he struggled to kill Varian, something knew Anduin would need his fathers help and that's why we've seen Varian twice after his death! I think this is the best time ever to be a Warcraft player!

No. Just no. Watch the videos with Anduin at the end of SL. Anduin thinks that he is unworthy of the light (at the same time, the light does not care how it is used as long as the believer is confident in himself and his rightness, and Anduin doubts himself). Anduin made excellent use of both light and darkness when under the control of the Jailer.

I wonder where the conversation will go when people realise that Turalyon will never be an enemy of Anduin.

Same my friend! He is just lost, the light will redeem him when he lets it back in. I think what the devs are going for is something like Thomas Aquinas, or even Job. Being put through hell only to emerge stronger and more committed.

@Doronsmovies don't forget he is a Discipline priest. We have seen him wield more light than shadow on screen as of late - boarderline Paladin - but he can use The Void too. I feel like his undeath and re-life will return us to that character-fantasy that Blizzard has forgotten.

i'm really excited to see where anduins storyline go as just before the war within was announced i found myself at odds with my own religion and i also buzzed all my hair off so i'm finding anduin relatable for the first time ever the shaved head in many different religions is a symbol of restarting your life as your life and memories flows through your hair so shaving it all off can represent a rebirth of sorts

Guy has gone through more class changes than Thrall has changed underwear.

To be honest, the way they tried forcing Illidan to convert always remained as a huge red flag to me.

Nahhh he will be back all radiant and all when the Light responds ro him when he needs it most .

So Thrall and Anduin are gonna be both warriors now. The two big representatives for their people's faiths (Orc Shamanism and Human's Light) are being reduced to just... warriors. I'm sorry but that makes them a hell of a lot less special and interesting in my opinion. The strength of a warrior time and again has been proven to not be enough. Saurfang. Varian. Warriors trying their best brought low because magic is always going to outclass you.

If the Scarlet Crusade has taught me anything, it's probably less him having abandoned the light and more the light not responding to him because his conviction is gone

Nothing wrong with the light, problem is those of high power twist the light into something it's not ment to be. Greed/thirst for power corrupts all, even light users, and the greater light power they can use the more it corrupts them. Same with all the different forces, they are not good or evil, it's the ones that use those powers that become good or evil (or unknowing evil like alot of light users)

I think it's rather dumb to downplay his trauma because he has gone through tough shit before. I think there's a world of difference between losing your mom as a child and being mind controlled. The whole reason he's torn is because he's not sure where the Jailer's influence ended and the real Anduin began. He might've enjoyed committing atrocities, but was that because he was under the Jailer's control, or is he actually darker than he previously thought? I honestly think it's such a shame when you draw these huge conclusions based on vague speculation, and instead of presenting it as a theory, you present it as a solid reason, as if it's a fact. "The Jailer knows everything about the First Ones" says who? He's surely more familiar with them than us, but that's not what you're saying. It sucks, because every time I start feeling invested in your videos, you start pulling the clickbait bullshit and start pulling facts out of thin air just to support the narrative of your current video. Which is a shame, because they COULD be really good.

I think Anduin will take a liking to the Arathi, he’ll find the light he has become so accustom too, to be an abomination, and feeling the warmth of the holy flame, Anduin, will be able to channel the uncontrollable holy flame unlike any other before him. The light chose him, but now that he has his hands on the true light, he will transcend out understanding of the holy flame, and use it like no other has before. I also believe that the Holy flame is Azeroth. That Azeroth is not a world soul, but rather a star soul. Think about what the sun does for its universe. Azeroth is creation, she is a star soul, the first, and the titans recognize her power because of this. Which is why they are so hell bent on dominating her. Anduin, will rise as a true champion of Azeroth.

Well light has always rivaled death, remember Tirion fordring using light to break free and shatter FM, Jailer was probably trying to use this to his advantage, since he saw how Anduin could possibly be the next big threat to his plans like tirion, but crappy writing got the best of that plot I guess. What could have been a great storyline turned into a shoddy piece of work. Anyways another way of looking at light and death relation would be, what happens to Na'aru when they die ?

Light and Void are probably both the same in the sense they want to destroy the universe and leave nothing else left.

I'll say it just once: This *would* be super cool if it were so. Sadly, I have a strong fear that Blizzard will just make it a "lost his faith because he feels guilty / undeserving 😔" storyline, and I don't want to get my hopes up too high so they're not crushed.

Dam the light was sick for Christians playing wow. Hope the light doesn’t turn out to be corrupted or playing paly and priest just becomes strange.

People saying Anduin forsakes the light for void, what if.... what if he becomes the first Voidhunter class? Or a spec of the Demonhunter? The light wanted to turn Illidan to help fight the demons and the void, what if Anduin had seen enough to know that you had to use void to fight void, like fire with fire? He could become a dual wielding void hero class!

Anduin...doesn't seem to have the fortitude to become a demon hunter, or DH adjacent. Though I do wonder what Blizz is planning on doing with demon hunters now that Illidan is busy dunking on Sargeras up there in the cosmos.

Why is anduin the only who ages?

I dont think he abandoned the light so much as he feels unworthy to weild it. Weilding the light has always been one of conviction not good or evil. It requires you to have unwavering faith and belief in your cause and connection to the light. When he felt that unworthiness, the connection was broken. I have a feeling through his journey though he will reconnect to the light, but I don't think he will be a priest. I think the acts he committed forced him into accepting violence as a way to act, I'm willing to bet he takes on more of a paladin role.

Light is a single path. “Darkness” or whatever you wanna call it just isn’t as defined. It’s obscured behind overlapping possibilities. You will always find the devil you’re looking for. Dogmatic beliefs can lead you to framing your interpretation & understanding before a decision actually needs to be made. All person needs to move forward is a heading. Even if it’s the “wrong” one. Hindsight is 20/20 & looking back will always appear clear as day.

They are definitely going to play in on his connection to Azeroth, hence he is the one getting the whispers. Also if you might remember in the Shadowlands it was said that Azeroth saved him even cross-plane.

I don't like the subversion of established things, like the light being sentient like some Outer God from Elden Ring.

I think it's clear that none of the six cosmic forces is "good", as such. I mean, it's pretty clear that a world of Disorder, Death, or Void wouldn't be good, but neither would one of Order, Life, or Light. A world of Order would be a place of stasis, where anything that happened would do so along a pre-determined mechanical path. A world of Life... well, that's what the Everbloom was hinting at, a world where everything is overgrown and choked off, with no place for sapient life. And a world of Light would be one of servitude - just look at what X'ara was doing to Illidan and what Y'rel is doing on Alt!Draenor. No, just like Lou Bega needs both Monica, Sandra, and Rita in his life, the sapient races of Azeroth need both Light, Disorder, and Void. And Death, Order, and Life. All things in moderation.

I would imagine Anduin in his distress wasn't being cryptic at all.. Anduin has lost his faith in the light.. Anduin went besically into the depths of hell, the light didn't protect him, he saw all the horror's down there, the light didn't protect them, he was being controlled and used to do heinous crimes. the light didn't protect him nor them. The light failed him. In conclusion; the light abondoned him, so he feels not worthy to wield it and lost faith in both himself and it.

you know, i always watch these ideal lore videos but it just occurred to me that these are always wrong because the lore devs at blizzard have sucked for years now and they couldn't possibly be this in touch with the story.

that genn chose not to tell turalyon tells us a great deal. there is something wrong here, dynamically, that genn doesn't trust turalyon with aduin's status. fanatic that he is, turalyon may force Anduin into a puppet status, in order to take over this world ala Yrel. turalyon doesn't question the motives of the light, while genn and aduin are seeing the cracks in the facade.
