One of the worst mistakes Bliz ever made, in my opinion, was to retcon the old gods from being THE major threat, into minor servants of whatever the void lords will end up being.

I feel that's ok, it just gives a feeling of "the rabbit hole is deeper than you thought" kinda thing. But what I don't like is them lowering the power level of the old gods from "making sargeras beg for mercy" to just an annoying threat that we can eventually deal with

i think the worst was hopping on the multiverse train and scrapping the nathrezim. brilliant demon schemers from warcraft 3 ended up as another floppy dick thrown at us by SomEoNe GrEaTeR. the rabbit hole would be fun once or twice but it's just predictable finding out we only downed a minion

I guess originally Yogg-saron was supposed to be connected to 'forgotten one' from W3, but then chronicle changed it. Maybe the 'dark one' was connected to him as well, or maybe it was the 5th Old God.

The forgotten ones in W3 was just C'thuun's form.. fighting him in vanilla wow stage 1 or stage 2 was litterally an forgotten ones model of C'thunn 😂

As number 11 i would add the Ragnaros cult that was mentioned in Dark Iron allied race questline. It could be answered that we foiled their plans and they gone but technically they could use this plotline and make Ragnaros reappear in Emerald Dream, becoming raid boss for the third time like Kel'Thuzad, but instead we got Smolderon turning evil. Ah well

Admiral Taylor dying was honestly one of the most disappointing things. He was an interesting "newer" character we got in CATA and got to see his arc continue into MOP only for him to die in the most lackluster of ways. And then his death felt so cheap since they made his ghost a garrison follower.

Given how cool of a send off general nazgrim got, being a raid boss. Admiral Taylor dying off screen as fodder feels so wrong.

Pretty sure one of the vials was in black temple and how illidan won demons over to his side… this was in the warlock green fire quest I believe

I think they just killed Taylor to give some parity with the Horde who had lost like half of their named NPCs. And would go on to lose a whole bunch more too. The Horde's so barren of recurring characters nowdays.

Theres more: Zuldrak giant snake Old god from arakkoa Outlands Outlands son of Mograine Giant maw from old gods near Dragonmaw camp "The last Titan" plot from Pandaria: what was the message? What did they know? Muradin the king of diamonds: why dont he tell us about Azeroth? The First Ones lol no one spoke of them again The ETs world eaters from Shadowlands

Illidin will come back after absorbing Sargeras and give Demon Hunter's a third spec.

The Botani would be cool-I could see them updated the barrens to increase the area of the oasis where Wailing Caverns is and updating it to be Botani focused. Idk if they would but that’s where I think that plot line would go if at all.

Hey Dorion, what if Maldraxus was akin to an old god that the Primus slayed and took to the realms of death to bolster his power?

It always bothered me that they set Nathanos up to be part of some master plan leading up to Shadowlands. Even that quest in Ghostlands where he and Sylvanas were discussing things, they really made it seems like they had it all planned out. Then he just get completely destroyed by Tyrande and you never hear about him again except for her bragging about his death.

If only iridikron use thé power of galakron to revive chromatus, that would be Real ending to dragonflight

I thought the Dark one was supposed to be the Jailer. Wowpedia actually lists "the dark one" as one of his titles.

The way all the old gods were treated has been terrible. I hope they fix what they have done with Elune lore too. The night warrior story line really messed her up. I’m still salty about the useless death of Admiral Taylor. Also in Shadowlands the Primus should have been the big bad. The world soul saga has a lot to fix.

Wrathion is not technically the son of Deathwing, despite saying so. Only Sinestra survived mating with Deathwing, and Wrathion's mother was Nyxondra. She was sister to Onyxia thus a daughter of Deathwing. So it's more like Wrathion is the grandson of Deathwing.

Wrathion is NOT the son of Deathwing! I don't care how many times he says it. Only ONE dragon could survive mating with Deathwing, Sintheria. Wrathion's mom is NOT her. Deathwing is his great-father, or grandfather. Why does everyone forget this? Is it because the little dummy keeps saying he's the "son of"??

It's a poetic shorthand. It's like when I, a Christian, say I'm the "son of Adam" or "son of God" or "child of Christ" - it is true in the sense that I'm descended from Adam, created by God, and adopted into the Holy Family, but I'm not literally the biological son of any of them.

I think you're wrong about Nathanos' storyline, it ended the way it was supposed to. He died and went to the Maw, which the Jailer kept from Sylvanas, which was their way of showing us that he didn't actually keep Sylvanas in the loop with his plans. Sylvanas is searching for him in the Maw to this day. That doesn't feel unfinished in any way. The big one you missed was AU Draenor with Y'rel and the army of the light. If you're not a Horde player and didn't do the Mag'har unlock quest you may not even know about what happened. I expect them to show up in Midnight though, hacking the Dark Portal and arriving in Azeroth right as the fight with the Void is going South, in like a 12.1 or 12.2 patch.

Yeah bring back Arthas and make it a Merry Sue like Sylvanas...come on, get real. For how much people could be hating on SL, that ending was fine and it represents the reality: "No crown, no throne, not even a soul left for judgement" That's the tragedy that happens in real life mirrored into Arthas storyline and for how much we loved him, sadly we have to deal with his death and the "What if" drama.
