You have to hand it to Andrey. He deserved it more than anyone else. He beat everyone, including Carlitos, and on the grand scheme of things, save for his poor form in the last few tournaments, he is a top 6 player who is capable of beating anyone - which he has proved here

Ruud win was good, but Ruud was due for a loss and this is his weakest clay tournament. That aside, Mensik retired against FAA, Sinner didn’t even play, Lehecka retired against FAA, and Medvedev retired against Lehecka before FAA. Obviously this is not his fault at all, but it would’ve been one of the least deserving M1000 wins I’ve ever seen. Rublev deserved this one more. FAA didn't play a QF or a full SF match due to walkovers. He's lucky to be in the finals.

regardless of the difficulty of his draw, FAA played HIGH LEVEL tennis all tournament and especially in this match. winning that point in the 2-3 game third set could’ve changed the complexion of the match altogether. well played 🎾⚡️

What's wrong with tennis tv? Footage is full of Auger-Aliassime's winning points. Edits after edits, Rublev score is coming up until the he won the match with Auger-Aliassime's double fault. Fans would love to see more winning shots from Rublev. Cheers man! Great winning. I'm so happy.
