For most people, and every other president in the history of the US, an episodic life would be unsustainable in the long run. There is a primal authenticity in Trump. He tells you exactly what he feels in the moment. He lies straight to your face, without shame, without any concern for future consequences. It is the stark audacity of untruth.

I had a dog that I wanted desperately and paid a lot of money for it. It wanted a job and I wanted a pet. Frankly it never much liked me. I had a policeman friend who loved that dog. He asked if he could buy him on a payment plan. I gave him the dog. The man was so thrilled and so was the dog. I got myself a senior cat from the shelter. He is sitting on my lap right now.

Andrew Weisman offered a perfect metaphor (pheasant in the hunting dog’s mouth) to describe Cohen’s allegiance to trump. So many of us appreciate that Cohen realized he deserved a better friendship than he received from trump. Glad Cohen came to terms with that, paid too high a price, and continues to publicize his judgment mistake so others can come to their senses and not vote trump.

I don't find it offensive, but it does represent his character. To cover his shame, he has invented the comb-forward. Most people know he's bald underneath what Joy Reid called some 'deft cantilevering'. Trump still persists in the lie that it's perfectly natural. A few are taken in, but most people laugh at the ridiculousness. Most would have more respect if he could just show his baldness. Trump could never do that, though, because he'd have to admit his imperfection to himself and his ego isn't strong enough to withstand such a blow. It's sad, pathetic, inadequacy.
A liar knows he is a liar, but one who speaks mere portions of the truth in order to deceive is a craftsman of destruction! He is a manipulator!!

What's posh about it? The things are WILD, they cost nothing aside from the shot and they're pretty stupid and easy to get. They do taste really good too. If you'd ever seen a dog who's got one and is bringing it back to you, you'd appreciate his reference -they tend to strut.

I've been waiting years for this day! In 2020 I was watching msnbc and Andrew Weissmann was being interviewed. He had a large piece of art behind him featuring Caravaggio's Madusa. It was the most outrageous background choice I've ever seen in the carefully curated world of media friendly backgrounds and I only saw it once or twice, then no more, until today! There, in the background of this clip, resting against the wall, there it is. I'm very happy to see it again.

I always felt that Trump lived in a 20 minute bubble of time. Everything he does or says is to move through the next twenty minutes. He was able to do this because everyone around him allowed him to do it. At least up until he walked into a court.
seems like there was a community of people who lived around supplying rich men with what they wanted, as well as, agents who took advantage of that supply and demand, keeping that same community in line. it seems like something on the bounds of humanity and bounds of legal and social norms. sort of a seamly underbelly of quid pro quo payments for satisfaction and also quid pro quo on the economics of keeping that satisfaction outside the purview of common light.
