Marriage did nothing for me other than give me two wonderful kids. My ex wife only saw me as a work droid. Even though divorce was financially devastating to me, the frustration she has over my happiness makes it all worth it. Sometimes I think the broken home was bad for my kids, but now they don’t see a broken man.

I’ll make dinner. And pack a lunch too. I’ve been married 38 years. I’m an old lady now, but have been blessed by being a homemaker with clearly defined roles. It was my grandmother that taught me the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. She taught me how to cook and be a good wife and homemaker. It’s old fashioned now a days for sure. I pray that you find the woman of your dreams who knows how to cook and keeps a tidy home. God bless you. Oh and that she respects you and feeds you well with real food from the earth that nourishes your body and soul. ❤

He tried to make the relationship work but she didn’t want to and went to another state to be with some guy she met on Facebook while they were married. This sort of sh** is scarily common and happens more than you think. My friend owes her alimony, half of a mortgage, she took off with a car he bought for her, all the jewelry he bought for her, the business they started went under, the dog, half of his income and a lot more. Why does he have to suffer when she is the one who started it!! It’s so unfair!!

I married a woman from an old world culture (Southern Italian). There is a deep respect for a man that produces. Even at family dinners the men get served first (after the kids), while the women all prepare the meal. No one in her family is divorced. My wife wakes up, makes coffee, dinner. We’re remodeling a house we just bought and she asks my opinion on everything even if for certain things she’s made her mind up. I go on vacation by myself 2x a year and there’s no static. She runs the house, works part time from home but I make the majority of the money. I’m glad I married someone from a culture where men are respected and trust me the respect is mutual. Edit: I came back to this clip and want to just add something to the comments. - I was an E2 (I think about $20k yr) in the Navy when I met her. When I got out she made a majority of the money while I started my business. She works part time now because I did very well. She basically works for fun / pocket change. Also why she makes dinner every night. - She has two sisters but both taken. One’s a doctor, the other is a software engineer. - in her culture, kids eat first so the adults can sit together after and have a quiet meal. Anyway, the point is that there are good women out there. Don’t just believe every woman are like the kind you hear about on the internet. The same for the ladies. There’s solid guys out there, a majority of us are not here to oppress you and would as Tate says would die for you if necessary.

@@arcpuffin There's absolutely nothing "Inferior" or servant like by taking care of the man you care about, that's all in your head and how you perceive it (which doesn't get a Woman anywhere.. especially not closer to happiness) it's important that a Man protects and cares for his woman just as it is for a Woman to serve and take care of her Man. The bible states very clearly how important it is for a Wife to listen to her Husband at all times. The issue here is you continue looking at relationships between Men and Woman in the lens of "Equality" thinking and wanting to be such when in reality we aren't and never will be, we are very different and on a general scale posses many strengths that the other doesn't (such as a Woman being very nurturing) and a Man doing the heavy lifting.. life is all about balance, God made us different for a reason. She was nothing but good to me, but my grandfather suffered in his marriage even though he made everything happen: he fixed the car, built the shed by himself, did the physical labor etc. He stayed with her because he’d be damned if my dad was going to grow up without a father. I asked my dad(parents divorced when i was 7 and i grew up with mom, sometimes saw my dad bit he is a simp in his new wife witch got 2 kids from past marriage) how i should live my life? What is bad and what is good? His answer was: nobody knows what is good and what is bad. This was the most disappointment i have ever had because when i was teenager i though my dad is a wise man, and i felt myself lost alone like lost ship in a sea without beacon, i don’t know what is bad and what is good for me. He didn’t teach me anything about life, women and relationship and masculinity, which in my opinion is the main task as a man. Now my dad living a dog’s life, supports his wife’s grown up child, rising his own daughter. She manipulates him as fck. She even told sometime-im major of the family, and her parents don’t even shut her up. Tate is a father for men who grew up in a situation like mine, with fathers who are simps, nerds, and don’t even know what is to be a man. I despise my own father because he is a not a man, despite the fact he did a lot for me in career sense, but never be a mentor. Just speaking ATM. Thank you Andrew, for sharing true masculine role of a man in this complicated life for a men who was left alone like me.

@@filthycasual9381Well, considering there is no way to actually prove a false allegation and considering how few actual complaints actually make it even to the investigative stage let alone court, thats not something that can really be taken seriously. The epidemic side for actual domestic violence comes from hearsay comments from nurses who claim that they see a LOT of injuries they THINK is domestic violence, as well as police reports on domestic violence calls. The 'false accusation' claim is based on the actual calls and complaints, which women then don't follow up because they are told there is little chance of successful prosecution. So thats not even a serious argument. The claims from men is a little more sensible, there are actually usually localized statistics for certain years where the number of men calling exceed women, but then those regional temporary claims are usually adopted as a "here's what the stats show', when in fact they only show one stat in one location. What we KNOW is that actual homicides in domestic violence cases are almost EXCLUSIVELY men, or fairly clear cases of self defense, for which women , particularly indiginous, still see jail time for. The simple fact is that its FAR easier for men to get away than women. Ideally of course ANY case of domestic violence should be taken seriously, ideally any person who experiences violence should have a place to get away to. That doesn't exist, and the complaints from womens group is loudest, you can assume that its because they are just more biased and just as many men are beaten up by their spouses if you want, but thats a pretty absurd claim to me.

Andrew is correct a woman should respect her husband but respect is also earned. In the television sitcoms, he is correct women are viewed as more powerful, but there is a reason for this scenario, although it isn't always correct. Most television shows that have two working parents, both have careers. The man works, and then comes home to relax, while the woman works, and then comes home to work. Meaning, cooking, cleaning, getting the children ready for bed or school. I don't know many working families, where both parents work, and the woman comes home to relax, but this is not always the situation. Sometimes, the man works, and comes home, and takes care of the children. In marriage both parties have to respect each other, compromise, sacrifice, and divide the necessary activities. This is needed, so no one feels unloved, used, or burnt out. You have to love your partner for who they are, and don't focus on who they are not. People love, and give differently, so this must be respected and acknowledged. For example, a husband might moe the lawn, and although he is not fixing dinner, this is him giving. You must realize how your partner loves you, because it might not be exactly how you picture love. See example above. Marriage can work but, you must be willing to grow and accept changes together. You are two different people and those gifts should have room to flourish, and sometimes merge together. Meaning, couples need breaks. Time for your private hobbies. If your husband wants to go fishing, bowling, watch the games with his male friends, let him bond. And the same for your wife, who may want to go to the movies with her friends. Couples should have time for their own space too. The bottom line is, a marriage will work, when both sides are respected and loved. A husband and wife both need the above, with trust thrown in the mix. Great interview. I love hearing, and learning the sides of the male perspective. Makes me appreciate you guys more. 🙂

I married a good woman. First 3 years of marriage were bliss. Now that we had a kid everything has changed. She's changed in countless ways. I only married because I'm a Christian. If I could do it over I would just get married before a pastor and NOT sign a marriage license. That way you don't have to deal with legal divorce and you get way more benefits when you have kids. But if I wasn't a Christian I'd just never get married altogether. Once you give away your commitment permanently, women change and they now have no incentive to be the women you thought they were. Sex dries up. Good times dry up. Sleep, privacy, friends, money, making your own choices? All gone. Especially when kids enter the picture. It ain't for the faint of heart.

God bless you and that mother who born you, you are among those most special brothers whom i every day have in my prayers ! i exist because of jesus and not because of my parents, fight abortion in jesus name ! I knew you even before you were conceived. Jeremiah 1:4-5 I cant wait to see all my brothers and sisters in heaven. Stay strong, and hold on to the hope that Jesus gives us. It wont be long, look up and know He is on His way.keep up the good fight fate and win as many as you can,Proverbs 11:30 and sometimes drop your sword to look up to the Father with a smile.1 Timothy 6:12 , 1 Thessalonians 5:16-22 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb Psalm 139:13,Thine eyes did see mine unformed substance; And in thy book they were all written, Even the days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was none of them.139:16 Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:4-5 Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults. Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins;Let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless,And I shall be innocent of great transgression. Psalm 19:12-13 SAY THE MIRACLE Repentance PRAYER daily and it will change your life! Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you now and humbly ask for your forgiveness. LORD, I confess that I'm a sinner and I've broken your Holy Law. I realize that the penalty for sin is death. I believe that JESUS CHRIST suffered and died on the Cross to take the punishment for ALL of my sins. I believe JESUS rose from the dead and I accept Him as my personal Savior. From this moment forward I give you my heart and trust you to be the LORD of my life. Please forgive ALL of my sins and send your Spirit to help me do your will. I Love You, Lord Jesus. I Praise You, Jesus. I Thank You, Jesus. I shall follow you every day of my life. I thank you for your great love and accept your gift of eternal life, and I pray these things in JESUS name, Amen . Say this prayer faithfully, no matter what you feel, when you come to the point where you sincerely mean each word, with all your heart, something good spiritually will happen to you. You will experience Jesus, and HE will change your whole life in a very special way. You will see. A single saint fights back, and a thousand demons cry in agony. And you are that saint. Jesus Will Never Leave Nor Forsake You ''Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him and He shall bring it to pass.” Ps 37:3-5 Jesus Christ came into this world to reach those who feel that nobody cares. The Lord’s unfailing love surrounds the one who trusts in Him. The Lord Jesus Christ does care and He is reaching the lonely and the desperate, the confused and the hurt, the depressed and the disillusioned. Jesus Christ is reaching out to you. “But God demonstrates His own love toward us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Rom 5:8 As we turn away from our sin and turn to Christ we find forgiveness and freedom. Jesus Christ is a Friend to the friendless. He is a Helper to the helpless. He gives freedom to the addicts. He loves the unloved. He accepts the outcasts. He changes the unchangeable. He forgives the unforgivable. He accomplishes the impossible. He saves sinners. He seeks the lost. He gives direction to the aimless. He gives hope to the disillusioned. He gives Truth to the confused. He gives joy to the depressed. He gives purpose to the purposeless. He gives hope to the hopeless. He redeems and He renews. He touches and transforms.

I must say this talk by Andrew hit me very hard. Forty years of work, marriage with children wears you down. Your family sees you age and sometimes fail. With society's programming they lose respect for you because there is almost no positive reinforcement. Everything you do is expected and frankly taken for granted. Hopefully as my children get older they will see things differently as I did with my father. He knew I loved and respected him before he died...

As a young married man , I read post like yours to remind myself to always put myself first. I didn’t always want to be this way. I wanted to give everything to my wife and children. However, I noticed how the nicer I was and the more giving I was to my wife , the more she saw it as expectations rather than sacrifices. So, I no limit myself not sacrifice myself for the well being of my marriage. If I want something I go get it! Is that simple. I continue to meet my responsibility as a father and love my children unconditionally but I did not forget to love myself

I have 4 uncles. All are good men. They work their asses off, provide for their wife and children yet they don’t even sleep in the same bed as their wives… My aunts constantly nag at them that they are not doing enough around the house, their car needs fixing etc etc… it’s a sad sight to see. I’d rather continue to live single, travel overseas and focus on being the best me than to get married and live a miserable existence. I feel bad for them but they choose their fates.

That statement about men wanting respect is true from my experience, although respect is something that has to be earned, not just demanded. One thing that I have had to periodically remind my wife of 41 years is not to try and emasculate me in front of another man, something which she used to do on a regular basis because she knew it bothered me but has toned it down quite a bit I must say. One thing I said to her that made a difference is I asked her how she would feel if I was flirtatious with another woman in front of her (something I have never done). That caught her flat footed and later she admitted she wouldn’t like it one bit. I told her that’s how I feel when she puts me down or criticizes me in front of another man. What we do now when we disagree on something when we are with someone else is we go off out of earshot of the other person and work out our differences privately or agree to resolve it later but not to argue in front of someone else.

I worked in pubs when I was younger and all the men who came in early and left late, were hiding from the nagging they knew they were going to get when they went home. One guy I spoke to even told me directly: He didn't always hang out in pubs but it got to a point where he'd rather say he was working late and not go home to an argument. And if he had to go home to an argument he may as well give her a reason, by being in the pub all night. Men who get no respect at home just stop being there.

My grandfathers generation all went to the pubs after work. I wonder how much of it was them looking to escape nagging wives after they just spent a hard day at work and wanted an hour or two to de-stress

@@raymckigney2118Blame yourselves honestly, you invented marriage and you got what you deserve. It's almost like that is why nature by designed only made a procreation a literal come and go thing and not a permanent mating thing. This is why animals live easier, they don't unnecessarily create complications like marriage or whatever bs because the purpose of mating in the first place was always to prevent your species for going extinct.

@@DD-xw6uwAs I told your other comment you reaped what you sowed, invented marriage somehow thought that spending a lifetime with one mate was a good thing and then surprised it gets sour. Men who hate the nagging only can ever blame themselves, they knew what they signed up for and was thinking with their dicks instead of logic. 😂

My father always provided for us growing up. He worked hard all through my childhood. My mother worked hard as well and they shared the duties of running a household with children. They both worked so it was never stereotypically that my mother did all the cooking or cleaning. It was shared. But it was always very obvious that Dad is the man of the household. He is the protector of the family. Just simple things he would always be called upon to do or asked his opinion of. When we found a wasps nest in the shed and me and my sister were in the shed and we were too terrified to go past it my brother called for dad. He would deal with the wasps nest. When I thought I was drowning (I wasnt) at the bottom of a slide that i was terrified of on a family outing and was thrashing about in the water, Dad came to get me. Just simple things when you need a hero figure my dad is that guy. He does all the man things around the house like fixing things putting shelves up. He has his shed with all his tools and you don't touch his tools. He would be in charge of what we watched on television. He never allowed us to watch the TV soaps because he believed them to encourage people to engage in bad behaviour for the sake of creating a drama. He is in charge of the TV remote. When we get out of my mums car she's always like "be careful not to bash the doors into your dad's car" because to damage HIS car would be a big lack of respect. You are always aware to respect his things at all times. He had shared duties with his wife but he had authority at home and respect from his children. We knew if dad said something he meant it and his decision was final. We love dad and respect him. He was never a really harsh disciplinarian because he didn't have to be. We respected him so we did what he said out of love and respect for him not out of fear.

Dude is spitting wisdom, end of story. Take it from any guy getting shit on a daily basis by their wife and family, sooner or later, he's out. Don't care how much he loves them, he's out. You can only get pushed so far as a man with the disrespect before either something really bad happens or he walks. Most guys will just walk sooner or later. I'm getting ready to walk myself.

It's all bad because of the judges and their divorce laws that heavily favor women and it's also because of the one and only Gloria Steinham with her women's liberation movement that kicked into high gear way back in 1971. I figured all this out by studying American history on my own. The saddest part is women from other countries are so much nicer to their men today. I myself have encountered various women in the past year that make me scratch my head at how misbegotten they are in most of what they do and say it's really stupid. 60% of men 18 to 49 years old in America are alone and lonely and only 30% of women are alone and single strange but typical for today's society.
