I think Mr. Bird looks like an embrace; an embrace made as a man. This was wonderful! I was in the hospital fighting COVID19 AND Pneumonia. I MADE IT, & here I am! Only LOVE to ALL...

I love his whistling. When I was a young child, my grandfather was surprisingly a great whistler on our walks. I was always amazed that such a quiet, hard, military man had such a beautiful whistle in him. It is a shame that we have forgotten about something so natural (that requires no instruments or training)... I am glad that Andrew is reminding us how beautiful this almost lost art form can be. I bet 100 years ago, the average American man took whistling completely for granted, a given,a natural skill. and now, in such a short time (my grandfather always whistled beautifully on walks, my father I think could but never really did, to my generation where whistling is sort of stared at as an oddity), such a wast of something so natural. Andrew reminds me how beautiful it can be.

Omg zach is so nervous about playing and jamming with Andrew. And Andrew is just so accepting of him and his level. They're both so curious about each other's work and how they create these pieces. It's like, they're both so nervous but they're both so great.

💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓! Thank you Zach for taking a risk, exposing your honest, vulnerable self out there. We've all had that stage fright/"I shouldn't be here" feeling. It is nice to see someone so famous still has that feeling too. And I really appreciate the very real, honest conversation too. This was great.

@@DB-pt6zj: If you listen to the interview, they are old friends who have met many, many times for years and years. Andrew used to rent Zach's California house for some time (enough that Andrew wrote a song about that house, and Zach got choked up on stage thinking about it). And they both often perform at Largo enough that they have met there many times, and had many conversations in the greenroom as well. They actually KNOW each other. ALSO, Zach asked Andrew to compose the music for Zach's show 'Baskets' at least 2 years prior to this video. They obviously know each other pretty well and are actual friends. (so not at all like opening a bomb with your hand covered in butter at all. More like good longterm friends agreeing to do something in front of the camera together.)

So. I'm embarrassed to say I had never heard of Andrew Bird before. I am furious that no one has told me about him. Besides his obvious talent with instruments and writing music, his vocals are unreal! Effortless interval jumps, perfect vibrato, and dynamics. Wow. Many artists today have easily copied vocals, but I doubt many could copy that pure tone and quality. I'm done gushing. Also, I'm so used to Zach saying something funny when he pauses to think, that even when he's not telling jokes I can't help but laugh at his face.

Watching this now that Bird's My Finest Work Yet is out is super interesting. He was likely working on a lot of the songs already at this point, but you can also see how the discussions he has with Zach leads directly into the more overtly political themes on the album. The songs are just incredible, and these two human beings touch my soul in a way that gives me genuine hope. Thank you, Andrew, for putting these up during this surreal, disconnected time.

That "moderation" line that Zach really likes. It's a good line, but also, it's saying the same thing as the old adage: "Everything in moderation, including moderation." Really enjoyed this, though. As a part-time musician myself, I completely relate to Zach's nervousness in sitting in with actual good musicians.

This must have been intimidating/nerve-racking as hell for Zach. I really respect that he did it, didn't back out of something so obviously out of his comfort zone. He must really like Andrew to put himself through this. (mad-respect to Zach) In return, I TRULY want to see Andrew come up on stage with Zach and tell 2-3 Zach jokes (and bomb) but totally appreciate Zach's years of experience and level of technique in return. and then (as a 'digestif' , finish it out with Zach telling his best jokes with the perfect musical accompaniment of Andrew on piano/or other instrument) + both appreciating each other's better-then-average talents.

I am impressed that Zach even knows what a 410 (a very rare/obscure gun) is! The fact that he even mentions it makes me think that he actually has one (a gun that can kill only squirrels or pheasant at 25-30yards max). NOT a widely used gun, with a minimum of rage and damage. (Yup, he is actually from NC countryside.)

Zach is the guy who loves music too much to ever put himself between it and the creator. He simply cannot be the character on the screen because it all seems impossible. It is indeed impossible that he is in fact sitting here with Andrew Bird within a mix of textures that Andrew put in front of us. All of it is beautiful, incorrect, yet perfect all at once.
