I... Don't think you understand what this means to me. I started bawling in the first song immediately. Wow

I'd say that besides his incredible voice, one of Matt's greatest attributes is the ability to feel the temperature of the room. His pick of Pink Rabbits as a song to perform here with good ol' Andrew is perfect.

The National is my favorite band, but only Andrew Bird can lyrically and tonally outclass Matt. A collaborative album would be stellar.

Wow, everything that saved me a few years ago in one show. Bless you, and bless everyone. And I love Matt Beringer's voice in this setting, live, unwarped by effects. Plus I prefer the tempo Mr Bird set here for "pink rabbits" to the studio version that is almost smarmy. And the master of an instrument who can't play "shiny wood" or " cloudy" are either lame, or lying. It's when a songwriter says: "play how pissed I was last Tuesday" that the cohesive meltdown occurs. :-D And I wonder how long in this "culture" the phrase "click of the receiver" will last. Who knows, except us oldsters, what that even means? When I first heard it I thought stereo receiver. But no, I recall the click of the phone receiver.
