Johann Strauss II (October 25, 1825 - June 3, 1899), also known as Johann Strauss, Jr., the Younger, the Son (German: Sohn), Johann Baptist Strauss, was an Austrian composer of light music, particularly dance music and operettas. He composed over 500 waltzes, polkas, quadrilles, and other types of dance music, as well as several operettas and a ballet. In his lifetime, he was known as "The Waltz King", and was largely then responsible for the popularity of the waltz in Vienna during the 19th century.
Some of Johann Strauss' most famous works include "The Blue Danube", "Kaiser-Walzer", "Tales from the Vienna Woods", and the "Tritsch-Tratsch-Polka". Among his operettas, Die Fledermaus and Der Zigeunerbaron are the best known.

Andrea Rost (born June 15, 1962) is a Hungarian lyric soprano. She has performed in leading roles with the Vienna State Opera, La Scala, the Royal Opera House, Opéra National de Paris, the Metropolitan Opera and the Salzburg Festival. The year 1997 saw the release of her first solo recording, Le delizie dell’amor, featuring arias from bel canto, Verdi and Puccini operas.

she isn't really hungarian tho :) she is pretending to fool her husband so she is meant to pronounce everything terribly and do a weird hungarian accent

Her voice is glorious, but he’s taking it so fast! She and the aria would have been better served a few BPM slower.

Hey ...no singer alive or dead has really pulled off this aria ..its ridiculously hard ..and no those old sopranos couldn't sing it either .....its stupidly hard...i mean that no singer living or dead has even pulled this off ....why strauss why??
