What make him out standing is how he completely control the ball rotation. .. Every lofted pass or long through ball from Pirlo , the ball looks like it just floating like a ballon. .. It's insane

Pirlo was the absolute terror of defense lines doing high pressure. He put the ball where he wants to, and he could do it with both legs. I can only imagine how good it was for wingbacks to play with him. All you have to do is run, the ball will reach you

Pirlo and Xavi were the only players where it felt like time slowed down when they got the ball. There could be 3 players pressuring them they would spin away from them and find the perfect pass in an instant. Crazy talent.

One of the things that you can't see on compilation videos like this is how Pirlo controlled the game. Besides the obvious skill of passing, dribbling and shooting, when you watch entire games you can see how he controls the pace of teams, how he chooses which side to overload to attack from and how he is in charge of keeping possession. A true master.

Pirlo was unique in many ways. He was the only deep play maker that would design the game from his own box and thanks to accurate long passing, he was able to lead an attack from right on his own box edge. His balance was as good as a ballerina and only comparable to Maradona and Zidane.

He made football look way too easy. Of the the best ever.

I watched him ever since i was a kid and i was obcessed by his passes and free kicks, he makes it look so effortless! Amazing maestro!

Midfielders like him are underrated. Only strikers get fame.

Completely agree but only in this day and age. Go back through the decades the Midfield talent was insane but just even around the 90's and 00's midfielders ruled the game and were totally appreciated. Seedorf, Pirlo, Zidane, David's, Guti, Juninho, Riquelme, Matthaus, Rui Costa schweinsteiger, Rivaldo, Xavi, Laudrup, haven't even picked many of the obvious one so much talent compared to the current players.

Facts! To bad that players like him never get a ballon dor or something like that. People aro so dumb when they say 'Benzema won the CL for Real Madrid in 2022' without Modric, without Kroos, without Courtois he would never win it. Messi won the world cup but without the goalkeeper, without the high pressure of the midfielders, without a solid defence he would never won the world cup. Ronaldo/Messi can not win games if the defense not doing their job. If the goalkeeper not doing his job.

His ball control, feel, creativity and touch are magic. Up there with Zidane!

had I still been a young, naive kid I would have said that Pirlo is my idol. But since I'm grown up enough to know that having idols is not normal I will just say that Pirlo is (probably) my all-time favorite Italian player... almost 50-50 split in likeness between him and Paolo Maldini. And it's definitely top 10 favorite players in the world for me. Also, I will never forget Gattuso's quote in an interview when he said "when I see what Andrea does with the ball I wonder if I am a footballer" :) ... Such an elegant, visionary and efficient player! I've lost a friendship in mid-2000s because of my fanatism with AC Milan, and for good reason: Pirlo, Kaka, Shevchenko, Inzaghi, Maldini, Nesta and Seedorf on the pitch at the same time has been nothing short of spectacular and awe-inspiring. Even the officials of Barca or Real Madrid (I don't remember which one) have facepalmed themselves when they've been drawn up against the mighty Milan of the 2000s in one of the UCL knock-out rounds. THAT good have AC Milan been back then, and part of the reason is Pirlo.... Good 'ol memories....

I have always rated Pirlo above Iniesta. Pirlo was his teams key player, while Iniesta was not. Pirlo and Xavi at the same level.

As an AC Milan fan, I still feel like crying remembering how he left Milan in 2011. This guy was among the people who made love football, him together with Gattuso, Maldini, Kaka, Seedorf and Inzaghi made me an AC Milan fan. Certainly amongst the best midfielders ever.
