A B His mother was advised to abort him. I believe some medication she had taken was found to cause birth defects like blindness. If she had gone along with the doctor’s advice, the world would have lost a beautiful voice.

When I hear this song and see this video, I feel the love emanating from Andrea and Matteo towards each other. I feel I'm privileged to feel this love. They are singing to each other and no one else. PS: I saw Mr. Bocelli in 1997 (somewhere between 1996-1998) in Orange County, CA. I think it was his first US appearance; and he was still 'new' to The US. My friends were going to attend, but I didn't want to go -- the tickets were $80, and I had no idea who he was. But then a friend got sick, and she just gave me her ticket. //// Mr Bocelli was escorted onto the stage by an assistant. He couldn't have been more stiff if he were dead. Just so rigid. Like he was frozen. And THEN he started to sing. And I burst out crying. I might have been embarrassed but the middle-aged man sitting next to me was crying also. LOL Jump to a few years into the future: what a sexy guy he had become! LOLOLOLOL And he still is! :-)

I love how this song develops and changes character. First the minimalistic piano accompaniment with Matteo's softer, airier voice before the strings start coming in gradually. Then Andrea's fuller, more focused voice enters, along with the switch from English to Italian which affects the phrasing significantly. Strings swell throughout his verse, then pull back as they sing the chorus together. Then the orchestra swells again as they go into the bridge. Lots of bright violins through the last part, the piano continuing underneath the whole time, until it finally fades into some soft strings. What a ride. It's incredibly beautiful, touching, and also just a satisfying listen. Grazie di cuore, Andrea e Matteo! 🥰

A good friend of mine shared this with me knowing that I lost my son Aaron in 2018 from pancreatic cancer. He was a vibrant, loving 38 year old man who was an incredible son, father, husband and so much more. Listening to "Fall on Me" has touched me deeply. The flood gates have opened with tears of joy remembering how blessed I've been to have such a wonderful son, yet also feeling the intense grief of losing someone so special at such a young age. This song is a beautiful gift from Andrea and Matteo Bocelli.

I bought Andrea’s CD to my dad as a Christmas gift many years ago. He fell in love with Andrea’s voice and music. Nine years ago I received a phone call from my mom. She told me that dad had a stroke and might not make it. I was living oversees at the time and booked the first flight home, praying that I would make it on time. After the 12 hour flight I arrived at the hospital where dad was unresponsive in the hospital bed. On the second or third day, when I was all by myself with him, he suddenly opened his eyes and smiled at me for a short moment. This loving smile is forever seared into my soul. And why am I writing about this here? Andrea’s beautiful voice was one of the last voices that my dad heard during his last weeks on earth. This timeless music causes me to see and feel that beautiful smile again. “I close my eyes and I'm seeing you everywhere. I step outside, it's like I'm breathing you in the air. I can feel you're there.” At the same time this song makes me think of my relationship with my three sons; what will become of them and how a part of me stays and continues on with them. “I will smile if in the fleeing time you take me with you” (translated from Italian).
