October 2021 I was in hospital with Covid, 36 weeks pregnant with my fourth child. This song has always brought me comfort, I was listening to it when the drs told me I was very ill & they had to deliver bubs. I knew I was having a c-section but I wasn’t prepared to be having my baby alone, under general anaesthetic, I was so scared she would need me & I wouldn’t be able to see her or hold her. For the first time in my life I was truly scared I would die. As I was hurried into theatre I told all the staff my baby had a name. Grace. 2.5 years later and she sure is Amazing! I sing Amazing Grace to her every night as she falls asleep.

@@alenmedel3291 es lo mínimo que podía hacer, me han costado mucho elegir esas palabras y escribirlas.... Un mundo. Para mi ellos hace 10 años casi, fueron mis salvavidas - lo que era oficial del Titanic para Rose cuando la rescatan en la película Titanic -. Pues pasé muchisisimo tiempo con una fuerte depresión a raíz de la muerte de mi abuelo. Murió de cáncer, y fue muy rápido en cuestión de 2 meses. No podía escuchar cantar, ni siquiera la melodia de un móvil pues me ponía a llorar. Ya que me recordaba a mi abuelo, que también era un gran cantante y muy buen imitador a : Camarón de la Isla, Antonio Molina (grandes figuras del flamenco). Y cuando murió, ya te digo que no podía ni escucharlos a ningún tipo de música pues me rompía el corazón tal y como lo tengo ahora mismo.... Hecho aire, ellos (Carlos, David, Urs y Sebastien) casi fueron mi nexo con mi abuelo fuera de la música, aunque no era su estilo musical. Así que necesitaba las palabras idóneas e incluso pensar que le diríais vosotros (el resto de los fans) de las mejores, espectaculares, asombrosas, nobles e increíbles ARTISTAZOS y personas. Y más nuestro amadisimo Carlos 🙏❤️❤️❤️💔💔💔💔🌹🌹🌹🌹😇😇😇😇

I love that this includes a bagpipe. You would think that it is a particularly Scottish musical instrument, but in fact it is a musical instrument of all of mankind. On almost every continent you can find a bagpipe instrument throughout history. This fits to the universal humanist thematic and context of this beautiful song and it shows how similar we humans are despite our differences - we are all children of the same God. May he bless you with his amazing grace!

This was the first song I've heard Il'Divo perform. I 'll never forget my reaction when I heard the whole song and especially Carlos Marin voice. I held my breath while Carlos performed. I called my collegues to see the video and listen I' ll Divo and Carlos. We listened, 4 of us, in our seats with our eyes wide opened, in total silence. I could hear our hearts beating and nothing else. Not even a fly. After performance stoped, we look at each others, eyes full of shiny tears, amazed and touched.... Thank you Carlos for your existance. Thank you for the amazing character, person, singer and soul you've been. You'll always stay in my heart. This was my first song I heard from them too. I was touched by how emotional they sang, then the bagpipe played and then Carlos blew me away with his part.. I had to show this video to anyone that would watch it. I still love watching it even though it breaks my heart that Carlos is only in our hearts and memories now.

I truly believe these men to have the voices of angels. This is my all time favorite song, and this, my favorite rendition, hands down. Carlos’s solo after the bagpiper is beyond incredible. He will be greatly missed. God Bless these gentlemen. 🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️

So sorry for your loss. The bagpipes are amazing. I played this for my mother as well while in the hospital before she passed. Albeit, not the last song she heard, I know it was her favorite. God bless.

The song really shows just how incomparable Carlos has been. No doubt, each of these guys is impressive in their own right, and they usually complement each other pretty well. But Marin is just on the whole different level. Not really surprising, considering how decorated he's been in the Opera world. Recorded his first album when he was just eight, then became primo baritono in some of the most famous operas ever... There's no Il Divo without him. RIP Carlos

There will never be another Carlos. He was such a gifted and extraordinary man. May he RIP. I was so honored to be able to see Ill Divo in concert 8 times. Carlos will always be in my heart.

How fitting for this sacred hymn of redemption to be sang at the Coliseum in Rome where during imperial era, early Christians were martyred for their faith as a public spectacle. The hymn is a profession of the power of God’s mercy and grace to uplift and redeem the human spirit to triumph over adversity and corruption….as John Newton, who wrote the hymn in 1772, experienced it. This is a stirring rendition.

I completely agree! WOW! I have heard thousands of versions of this song, it was the very first piece of music that I memorized on My Lowrey Virtual Orchestra I nearly always use the Bagpipe solo and chimes or church bells and believe it or not an Eb accordion whatever combination I choose is very nice as I also use the Pipe Organ voice and drums under the solo. As many times as I've watched this (a BUNCH!), I'm still somewhat caught off guard at the explosion of voices after the bagpipe solo. I think I know what's coming but always seem to underestimate the power of that entry just a little. Breathtaking.

My grandpa passed away recently. They played this version of Amazing Grace at his celebration of life... I've never been so emotional during this song as I was that day. Listening to this now, I'm still getting emotional. Beautiful.

While listening to Amazing Grace, I've wondered …… the voice of Amazing Grace I'm hearing in my heart might be truly streaming down from above the heaven through their singing ❤

Always sends shivers down my spine when I hear them sing this and many others. Absolutely beautiful voices in beautiful harmony . RIP Carlos , go and sing with the angels they were obviously missing beautiful baritone

I used to lived in a huge house overlooking the sea actually many years ago when I was married. My best friend is Dr Stephen Soloway, you may look him up he's quite famous in the States, he is on the Council for Youth and fitness started by his friend Donald Trump, actually Steve attended with his children the Inauguration Ceremony, I have some fantastic photo's of the day.
