John Williams' Call of the Champions from the 2002 Winter Olympics. The music is haunting, and I loved how he integrated the Olympic Motto, ""Citius, Altius, Fortius." and climaxed it by adding a 4th word, "Clarius." I used this as the theme music and motto for my Math Team the following year, and it truly inspired them!

how dare you compare Bocelli to Pavarotti, Bocelli is not fit to lick Pavarotti's shoes.

Watched it live and now here again. The acoustics of the stadium make him sound even more amazing

This was the first time I'd ever heard him, and was so stunning that all I remember about the entire closing ceremony was his performance.

Comparing Pavarotti and Bocelli is like comparing a Stradivarius Violin and a Kazoo. They are not in the same league.

I really loved this performance by Andrea as himself .. alongside with those wonderful ladies dressed in white, holding their flowers with those lights. And the entire stadium filled with a sea of twilight. 👍🏟️🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆

He has taken my heart and soul to a different level. Most blessed to have him in our lives.....

Me too. Such an amazing voice & perfect for the olympics

I have always loved the Olympics. I even had dreams of working for them in some way, but not all dreams come true. When I saw this specific Olympics, I was mesmerized as there was just something about this one. I envisioned what it would be like to live in Torino (Turin). I remember wishing that this specific Olympic game wouldn't end. Guess it all started with the little girl singing the Italian national anthem, which I'm not sure I had heard before then. I was essentially glued to the television for the next 16 days. And how fitting was it that Italy received the gold medal for the final medal. Georgio Di Centa to receive the medal from his sister. Then came these closing ceremonies, and I started to hear this song. You have to understand, music is very powerful to me, and sometimes a song will just hit the heart and this one began as I watched Andrea Bocelli sing. I'm pretty sure I cried through the entire thing. I did swim in high school and loved tennis but was never going to be a big athlete let alone get here, so it's always meant something special to me. I can't thank the Olympic channel enough for having this, to be relived, especially without the commentators talking over the songs. I'm not sure we'll ever get a presentation again as we did in Torino, but lets hope the Olympics never end. It truly is 17 days where the world puts aside most differences and lets people compete together.
