Andre Ribeiro's reckless drive, 1996 CART Road America
Andre Ribeiro makes Mark Blundell very upset.
Жүктеу.....

Robby Gordon being the voice of reason? Man, 1996 was a different time.

My overarching thought is, how great is Jan Beekhuis? He asked every driver exactly the right questions and then asked them to elaborate. Today's announcers would just let the driver him and haw and mention the sponsor and walk away. Beekhuis is the best.

This was when American open wheel was good. Thanks Bill France for helping fill Tony George's nostrils. Tony your "vision" sure made things better! rolleyes

There's some irony in Robby Gordon telling people to calm down and use their heads, isn't there? :)

Robby Gordon complained about the Ford engine, but the winner of this race was Michael Andretti in a Lola-Ford.

Nice to see Robby Gordon's "The Ford engine is why I'm leaving for Nascar" quote got in there too!

As people already have mentioned, the Blundell/Gugelmin accident is more unlucky than an intentional maneouvre - expect chaos when one car is slowing, the other is making a swift evasive maneouvre, and a third trying to steal positions by using the same piece of tarmac as the avoiding car. Racing incident, in other words. It just seems more obvious to blame the one with the reputation.

CART was so insanely good back then, the only high level motorsport that comes close in our days is maybe MotoGp

Another great CART moment watch the entire race and you'll see him kick the crap out of his engine when it blows, not to mention he was redlining it at every pit stop. Then in classic Gordon form calls Ford a big down the straits and that it' suck "next year" glad I was able to watch this stuff back in the day. I watch now, but its a mere shadow of it's former self.
