I play this song every day. It reminds me of my husband and I. I have been very sick on and off since 2008. I lost my leg in 2020. I was in the hospital for almost a year. My husband has stayed at my side throughout everything. We are married 23 years. He is always here for me. I will rise up💕

The combination of the pianist and Andra Day, moves to the core of my emotions. This song is my go to and it lives in my head, but this is the first time, I didn't just shed tears, but cried. I've just arrived home from the funeral of my friend's 2-year-old, and they had a gospel choir sing this as the tiny coffin was brought into the church. The entire church burst into sobs in unison. It was absolutely heart breaking, but thank you for creating this beautiful piece of music - it feels weirdly comforting to listen to it again and reflect on how precious life is.
