ANDIS OUTLINER | MODIFIED MY WAY *NEW OPEN-SIDE*

Hello Fellow KZread, Barbers, Stylist, Hairdressers alike. I decided to try something a little different with my Andis Outliner. I modified my outliner with safety and originality in mind. I have seen many people simply cutting/modifying there Andis Outliner / T outliner but I wanted to do something different. I designed my Andis Outliner with a place to rest my thumb. Now my Modified Andis outliner is easy to clean and stays cool without over heating.
This was a spare Outliner.
This is the 1st How to video on modifying the Andis (T-) Outliner : HOW TO VIDEO! In this video I take you step-by-step on how to the SENSIBLE way.
Tools used:
DRILL + (1/16, 3/16 and 1/4 bits)
Dremel (Cutting off wheel, deburr ball, fine sandpaper hoop)
Marker, Needle nose pliers, Deburring tool(Not Necessary)
something to drill on (e.g. Block of wood)
***Safety Glasses

the whole purpose of skeletonizing the trimmers is to allow the trimmers to maneuver better around the ear and second for ventilation

Raul Esparza are you a barber? Most of these modifications improve performance and ease of maintenance. Yes it will nullify whatever warranty exists, but if you maintain equipment and learn your machines thru and thru, you won't need a warranty.

Great idea I never thought of doing that for the heat. Try using a fixed tool instead of using the vice for the initial cut, like a band saw or table saw. Tape it vertical and cut multiple straight lines across up the vertical tape, cross cut once with the dremel then pry them off. Then use the sand paper or stone attachment on the dremel to clean it up. Dremels love to go wild... Which causes what happened. But if that's all you have, gotta work with what you got! Great job though.

the reason you cut the whole top off is not just for cooling. it also gives more power with proper adjustment to the tension screw. what you did was real good if you just want to keep trimmers cool. but if you want more Power and cooling then you cut the whole thing. that's why it's done, cooling and easy cleaning are just a plus . THE POWER IS THE REAL REASON.

skeleton is better...if you just put two holes on the sides, it's useless. I'll give you a better idea, if you want coolant, just use drill bits along the sides instead of making that ugly looks. you probably don't know the reason behind the skeleton. so you can go around the ear, you can see better, and easy adjustment. you disagree, I don't care, you can stick with ur ideas but I don't like it..

The only thing i do is drill a hole so that I can reach the tension screw without taking the faceplate off. Drill a hole large enough so that a screwdriver can fit and then sand it smooth. This way you get airflow, tension screw access and still have full housing protection #Simple

  • @rutiliocaballero9505

(Not this specific design) but, if the science of modifying the outliners (Skeleton Design) is for increased AIR FLOW & easier access to clean! *THEN.....* the 1st thing came to mind is INTSEAD if chopping the WHOLE shit off & "convertablizing" it WHY NOT just open some holes in it? I seen the thumbnail for this video & said ah HAHH homie is a CREATIVE!!! That shit is DOPE!!!
