    Great video! Thank you. I found the cutting blade replacement especially helpful. I was struggling with getting the cutting blade on and was second guessing myself but your video helped immensely. The alignment portion was a great tip too. I’m back up and running now. Great content!

    I've been cutting my own hair for years. I've had these exact clippers for about 5 years. I'd take them apart periodically to do a good cleaning and would guess as to how to align it all back up. Well no surprise they haven't cut that great in a while. So after this mornings hair cut I went on KZread and watched several bad videos till I found this one. I went out in the garage and made the adjustments. Not only do they sound better while running, it cuts the hair on my arm better than when they were new. Now I can't wait for my hair to grow out enough to give them a try. Thanks for the great helpful video.

Should I lose the lever a little bit? And I noticed that the cutting blade is not straight. Is like you say is going down to the left side, Is to difficult to fixed? What can I do, just remove the blades and put it the way you explain it?

    It probably has to do with the blade pad being too loose. The four small screws under the blade should help you out there. If you have any troubles or just need a fresh tune up and/or blade sharpening don't hesitate to send them up and we would be happy to help.

  • @TheEdgePro

    @TheEdgePro

    Жыл бұрын

    We typically start by re-setting the tension one more time, backing off the tension screw half to a full turn, then pulling up on the arm on the front of the clipper like we show in the video. Just make sure that the arm is seated against the adjustment screw. Then we turn the adjustment screw back clockwise to set the height of the arm, which is adjusting the tension. It should be approximately 1/16" down to 1/32" above the field surface. This is a factory setting as long as the fork itself has not been bent. If someone has altered the spring, none of the settings will work as the factory meant them to be. After double checking the tension adjustment, we would go back to the power screw and try to reset the stroke. This is all assuming your field coil is not damaged. To check the foil coil, look at the plastic sleeve that the windings are wrapped in. Make sure that it is fully seated back against the steel core. This repair is also shown in one of the videos in this series. From there, if you are still not getting proper power and stroke, there is the possibility the field has gotten weak and it's not creating enough magnetic power. This would require a replacement of the field.

  • @TheEdgePro

    @TheEdgePro

    3 жыл бұрын

    THe blade screws are a #2 Philips. If another size bit or a worn screwdriver is used they will roll off the shoulders of the screw and make it difficult to get tight. IF this is the case new blade screws and a good screwdriver will help this out.

  • @TheEdgePro

    @TheEdgePro

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi Rodney! The traditional method to achieve a zero gap is this: while holding the blade with the cutter toward the ceiling, push the whole blade against the flat edge of a counter or cabinet, keeping pressure on both the comb and cutter while pushing. This is going to achieve a matched comb/cutter, but we need to have a small reveal for safety. We achieve this by tipping the blade up at the back so the slope of the cutter teeth will slightly force the cutter backward (the higher you tip, the further it will push the cutter). Then you will hold it together and tighten the screws. You will want to double check that nothing shifted while tightening!

    My blade slows down during cuts.

  • @TheEdgePro

    @TheEdgePro

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi Dennis! There are several things that we would want to look at. Where you are plugged in at your workstation can affect this as the voltage can change at different outlets which can change the power of the tool. You would have to reset the power screw for proper operation. Second option would include rechecking the blade tension and then resetting the power screw. Before any of these options, we have to make sure that the blade has been cleaned and oiled correctly. Cleaning will include a solvent blade cleaner of some sort such as Andis Cool Care to rinse out any of the foreign material which can make the blade drag. Adding the proper blade oil to both the front and back rail of the cutter is the next step. You can never make any of the other adjustments if you have not cleaned and oiled the blade.

    Set all straight, when turned on goes crooked

  • @TheEdgePro

    @TheEdgePro

    2 жыл бұрын

    The first thing i would look at is the blade mounting fork. Use a standard screwdriver to spread the two sides of the fork further apart, allowing for a tighter connection to the plastic driver on the cutter. When those two legs of the fork are pinched in, the entire cutter can sit crooked along with swing in an arch when turned on.
