He developed cherry eye the first week Anderson was there. Jay feels like it has to do with the wet weather in Oregon since Guilo had the same problem when he first got there. He has taken Anderson to the vet to take care of it. Jay is a very responsible owner, knows the breed and is a great alpha for Anderson. Not many can handle his strength.

5 minutes in and I was thinking the same. Jay has the type of energy & personality to have a Corso. He appears confident, and takes charge. That's important for powerful breeds. Not everyone has the personality to own any powerful breed. I wish more people would realize & accept that.

This marine is PERFECT for Anderson to have a good life. I can see that this man is establishing himself as the alpha and will obviously be teaching manners to Anderson. I'm so happy to see this. Before they even drove away Anderson knew who he belonged to. They bonded very well.

Dude is a very good trainer. He reinforces the good behavior. That is so key for training.

It's a loving dog friendly home. Not all of us live in museums like you. We actually have a life with pets kids etc.

Why am I crying when Anderson left? I didn’t rescue him?! I love the playing at the end and the pack pictures make me so happy. ❤

So happy that that Anderson did not stay long in the shelter and he was adopted by a man who could handle his high energy and he even got siblings right away.

I'm so happy for Anderson! He's a great boy and a bit sweetheart!!! He deserves to be spoiled, happy and loved! He will be great with other people!!! He's a great dog and he'll now have a wonderful life!!!!! GO ANDERSON!!!!! He's still very young and with good training he'll be great. Already he's doing well with Jay and the rest of the pack. Just takes time.

I've snuck out in the middle of the night to find Gracie (Shih Tzu) either curled up in between them or on top of at least one of them. Aegis has become very protective of her even though she's the oldest. She'll even lecture them when she thinks they're wrestling to roughly 🤣They also really love that sofa so you'll notice it's THEM sitting on it over any of us.

I love the fact that I named my last rescue Gracie as well 🥰 She's a tiny 3 kilograms Poodle, but I'm afraid her soul is that of a Cane Corso or, at least, is what she thinks she is 😅😅😂😂😂

Aegis Anderson is looking so well and healthy now that he’s had some time and good food with his foster family. It had to be hard to say goodbye but it’s such a good outcome for this sweet boy. 😅 It was easy at first to tell them apart from their size, but he's filled out and now I always need to take a second look. It was a temporary good bye. I fully intend to go back to California with Aegis and Güilo to visit ARCofCA. I want them to see firsthand the before and after. 😃

He knows how to handle a Cane Corso. This a very dominant breed and you would have to be a very confident and have an alpha personality to own this dog.

Dogs are opportunistic animals, and Aegis still tests me occasionally but he's so intelligent that he learns the rules after only a few corrections. It's being there 24/7 to make the corrections that's the challenge.

He looks so good! I can tell he’s still a puppy. I bet he was dumped because whoever had him couldn’t handle him. Anderson is a very special pup and I’m glad he found a good home

Could not comprehend why anyone would leave him...The more time I spent with him, the more I saw how gentle and even well trained he was. It wasn't until I took him to a dog park where I saw a completely different side of him that made me think that his behavior upon turning 1yr of age made him too much for his previous family that were never ready for a Cane Corso to begin with. I have to believe he grew up with little to no interaction with other dogs. Now? Now he sleeps cuddled up with a 5lb Shih Tzu 😆

​​@@Jay-bd7diI don't own and I've never owned a powerful breed in my life, but I was guessing that there might have been something along those lines and his previous owners didn't know how to address it or they were afraid of him. People really need to be honest to themselves when it comes to the type of dog they can handle. Cane Corso is a lot of dog and needs an experienced owner.

@@Germania72 I'm overjoyed to hear this. I'm worried Corsi will become the next "Pitbull". Everyone wants them for their looks (which will encourage backyard breeding) but won't be able to handle them as they grow older/bigger/stronger. A dog can only ever be a dog and are never at fault. We as owners are always at fault whether it be what we teach, what we fail to teach, what we fail to discourage, or not being aware when we should have been. They can be very intelligent but they're still like having a 2-6yr old child. Teach a kid to stay off the street, you're still going to keep an eye on them for example.

And unfortunately these heartless bastards think they could just drive out to the woods or to the remote area of the desert And then just pretend to walk and then peel out and abandon them.

I am so happy he found a wonderful home. Corsos are great dogs in the right hands. I love my Buddy so much, he will as long as I and my kids are alive never need a home. My wish for all of the animals adopted.

What a great success story for Agis, Gulio & the little dog too! Jay is wonderful with these Big Dogs! So many people just give up on training, get frustrated and get rid of a Beautiful Dog- sometimes by doing an evil thing like abandoning 😡 them to the elements in the desert! Patience & consistency is called for in the whole process of the introduction & training & it’s an ongoing learning process. But when done properly is the most rewarding thing you can do! They look to you as the pack leader & see you as FAMILY. The amount of love they give you & you feel for them is inexpressible . You never forget it in each Beloved Dog. I know because I’m a Big Dog gal who’s been rescuing & training them for most of my life. Many Many years in other words lol. I feel such intense gratitude for all my Dogs… my Family. Impressed by how he controlled tbe introduction and play time of Guilo and Aegis. No easy feat. Jay know's what he's doing. When he moved things in the lounge to suit the dogs... only a comitted owner does that. Most people don't have that level of commitment yo their dogs.

That's the way to do adoption. Really screen the prospective pet parent and take the time to observe them with the animal. It breaks my heart to see dogs returned because the adopter was more concerned with how beautiful the dog is instead of the dogs need for exercise and stimulation. Dogs love you to their last breath. Congratulations Jay!

They are amazing dogs and Anderson is crazy strong. People would be afraid of him because of his size but all he wanted was to lean on you and get hugs and rubs.

That’s actually Anderson. He mentioned to us about it after he had been there for a week. He said the same thing happened to Guillermo when he first got him and wondered if the Oregon weather was causing it. It’s very moist where he lives. He said he was taking him to the doctor.

😅 I HAVE to believe that Aegis has had some training beforehand. Cane Corsi can get pretty destructive otherwise and getting Aegis to learn not to fight wasn't the hard part. Güilo also has an astounding temperament when aggressed on and this was a huge help. The difficult part was staying right next to them for the first 48ish hours upon arriving to be present for when things began to get out of hand. I was exhausted from the drive and if I kept them separated, I wouldn't be giving Aegis the opportunity to learn from correction. Just inadvertently teaching him that interaction with other dogs had something negative to it. I didn't want that. So I grabbed a bunch of blankets, brought them to the living room (if they fought in any of the rooms, they'd break things or hurt themselves) and slept next to them the rest of the night...sort of. They woke me up every 15min beginning to escalate things. Hadn't been that sleep deprived since the military or college 😅 but like I said, Aegis learned quickly and it was through verbal correction alone. They never bit me when I got in between them or each other as far as I could tell. I did break my phone after chucking it. Holding back 250lbs of Corsi with 1 hand got old REALLY quick.

Yes...Anderson hit the jackpot. That is not the type of person that will just get rid of a dog because that's easier that training. I love that he provided video of the good, & bad. As well as him scolding him, and asserting dominance. Its great to see the progression.

4:40.. he likes his new dad.. We have 2 Cane Corsos..love em..love the breed..they're great family dogs He's young and lanky right now..He's gonna look great in a couple years and filled out...

Amazing to think there are hundreds of dogs if not 1000's who all have a back story and wait in shelters for months or years and one view on you tube can get 1000s of applicants to re-home 1 dog seen on your channel - whioch is great .. I'm so glad he got a home and got saved .. of course . It's just interesting the psychology of it all... if all those people really want to adopt a dog though - they can...they can just go to their local shelter ... and so many more dogs would get a home.

This warms my heart so much 🥹 And boy do they love their toys and butt scratchies. Mine wakes me up every morning with a different toy, followed by the rest of them 😂 Glad you guys were able to find him a home with a good dad. I hope whoever abandoned him burns their tongue with their coffee every morning and has unsolvable car trouble for the next 20 years 🤬
