Cover version (performed with backing track) of 'And When I Die'. Written by singer/songwriter Laura Nyro and most famously recorded by the American Jazz-Rock band 'Blood, Sweat & Tears' - featuring David Clayton-Thomas.
The song got to #1 here in NZ in 1969.
BS&T are noted for their jazz-influenced song arrangements, often featuring unusual harmony, which together with the use of brass instruments, gave them their unique sound.
Their recording of this song 'And When I Die' is quite a departure from that originally recorded by it's composer, Laura Nyro back in 1967.
