    Such great tips! Whenever I feel the impulse to buy a bunch of totes I know that means I really just need to go through everything and get rid of stuff first.

    When you said “Your home is making you stressed”, a light bulb appeared above my head! Since the home I’m in now is probably the least cluttered and the smallest home I’ve lived in since getting married, I absolutely love my home! I’m not stressed or feel overwhelmed! I feel safe and cozy. When raising my children, we had so much stuff. 😮. I was the type of person who rearranged the clutter. 😮. I wish I could have not had that stress when they were little. Oh, I love your coffee and end tables ❤. I don’t suppose those can be found in the U.S.?

    Yes! I heard of a woman who bought two extra couches as they were ok sale and then one ended up trashed as there was nowhere for it to go and it stayed out in the rain! More is NOT necessarily better! 🌟

    My clutter is definitely stressing me out!!! I’m a mom of 4, grandmother of 4 and a full time, night shift NICU nurse. My youngest graduates high school next week, and I’m circling the drain!!! I KNOW if anyone gets it, you do! Thanks for the advice and words of encouragement!

    I've recently realized that my kitchen has to be like a workshop; only contain the tools that I need to cook. Counters need to be clear of anything decorative so that I can easily wipe it down after cooking!

    Growing up I was not allowed to declutter anything. My mom refused to let me. It created issues growing up because I grew up feeling like nothing was actually mine. My things didn’t belong to me. My clothes when I was done with them were intended for younger siblings. I’ve spent a longtime relearning my relationship with my possessions.

    I forgot to tell you something with my comment on another video the other day about turning off your embedding and ensuring the only approved ads button was indeed checked. You also need to ensure you are ONLY logged into your account ONCE. That means don't be logged in on your laptop, then another instance open (or just logged) on your iPad, and another instance open (or just logged) in on your phone and being logged in on the kids, husbands, work, etc especially if using the same general IP addresses. Multiple devices open to your channel, logged into your channel, viewing your channel, etc from within your own home/place of business/car tells YT that you are trying to maximize ad viewing. Doesn't have to be your intention, but that's how they see it.

    My husband sees and appreciates the benefits of a decluttered home, but he HATES the process. When I begin to ask him about things to declutter it triggers almost a panic-like reaction. Deep sigh. He's gotten rid of some things, but not enough for me. Deep sigh again. It's been a point of contention, so I've learned to leave it alone.

    I have the same problem. This is where the right organization tool can help. My husband’s CD collection (yes, we still have a CD player) took up more than 2 shelves on our white bookshelf in the living room - ugh!! Finally accepted that he wasn’t going to deal with it. Found some nice, off white covered boxes that would hold two rows each, bought a bunch and now we have 5-6 covered boxes that blend into the shelves rather than a pile of multi-colored CD jewel boxes. Significantly reduced the visual clutter.

    That’s tricky. Maybe focus on the benefits that he values and how to increase access to these rather than the things to get rid of. There’s this idea of “reverse decluttering” that focussed on keeping our favorites of something rather than looking for what to get rid of. 💪🏼🤞🏼🌷

    Do you have any tips on decluttering along with kids? My son is a mini collector even garbage 😂😂😂

  • @MinimalistHome

    @MinimalistHome

    Ай бұрын

    There is a whole lot I could say about this one! One thing is to get them to identify their 1st, 2nd and 3rd favorites (types of toys, stuffed animals, clothes, books, etc.). So they are “reverse decluttering” by focusing on what to keep (in a space or at all). Also, if there are “treasures” that you think are garbage and he doesn’t, you could have a bin for them and once it’s full, he needs to help decide which ones can go to the garbage.
