Great coverage of a variety of games! With the upcoming sale on the anbernic site Ive been debating whether to get the rg505 or 556, only really wanted solid psp emu and below but with this kind of perf with 3ds (one of my fav handhelds I just dont have a working one anymore) Im starting to lean towards the 556. Gonna have to test the fire emblem games if I pick this up :) Thanks for the vid

I’m so indecisive. I want one device that plays all of my emulated games but anything less cumbersome than the rgb30 is less than ideal. Like, why not just get a s20 fe that has 120hz display, a micro sd card slot and an attachable controller? It might be less cumbersome but wouldn’t it be more capable with a better screen for the same price as this on Amazon? I’m just trying to get into the discussion, not trying to knock you or your purchase decision. Also, thanks for this closer look into the capabilities of this specific emulator on these specific games. It’s always nice to see a more intimate look at a product

Ultimately an android based handheld like this or the retroid pocket is nothing more than a phone with a controller attached. You can customize it with a launcher to make it feel more console like or a Linux based handheld will have its own dedicated menu and emulators installed. I personally would rather have a dedicated device because it's easier to just pickup and play then to carry around a controller but everyone is going to have different reasons. If you are looking for something the size of an s20 with a controller attached then you should look at the rg405m or the rp4p. The rg556 is most definitely much more cumbersome than the rgb30 lol Edit: one thing I forgot to mention is that the rg556 and rp4p or Odin have active cooling which helps to push emulation a bit further than the phone could with similar specs

I also have the same thought but for the sake of your phone longevity (especially the battery) its better to separate the function of the devices. I'm currently running the emulators on my phone but whenever I have the urge to play the game...my fear of draining the battery and unable to use it as a phone always kicks in. I end up buying RG35XX H so that I can play the games whenever I want.

How about DS games? They should run great since 3ds is more powerful. Also, have you tried connecting it to a tv via usb C to HDMI?

DS will work perfectly. I did try the USB c to HDMI but for some reason I couldn't get a signal. I'd have to test some more because it's supposed to work afaik

I tried USB C to HDMI and none of my TVs or external monitors would get a signal. Aparently, using a HDMI adaptor makes it work

what settings do you have? I am currently playing omega ruby on my amber mic and it is staggering

I forgot to mention in the video that I am using Vulkan for all gameplay. Be sure to change the graphics API to Vulkan for much better performance
