I was going to buy this for like a beach/lake handheld. Small, cheap and not caring if I break it. Just the dim screen reports is what holds me back.

Holy crap Zu, you're kind of terrible at tennis games. I know what we're playing next CES!

MIND GAMES

Ordered mine this morning. I think it will make a nice micro companion to my 35XX H and Plus. Hopefully I can cover multiple sizes and form factors with swappable SD cards between them.

Ordered mine in the gray and also got a Miyoo a30. They will definitely be replacing my trim UI smart as my throw in my pocket device for waiting rooms and things like that. Basically the same size but with a better and bigger screen and more power.

Besides portable 2.8" Dreamcast, the extra power is also helpful for shaders and that sort of stuff.

Looking at this vs the new Miyoo... idk man this one seems better. Russ seems pretty unhappy with the miyoo's D-pad and it looks like the RG28xx will release with MORE power AND with a cheaper price tag. We may have a winner here folks. Color wise that orange is STRIKING, but I am more of a clear chassis kinda guy myself. I could also go for the classic DMG gameboy "gray" If we could have Anbernic's D-pad and CPU... and Miyoo's wifi chip and analog stick... idk beggars can't be choosers. I suspect my prayers MAY get answered with the new RG35xx "SP" currently floating around pre-release leaks.

I really wish this had a stick. It could've been a game changer for its pricing. I don't have one personally but knowing Anbernic, they've got good sets of handhelds with good quality control. Great content guys. Cheers! ♥️

Was able to grab one of the 200 a30's first. I'm ordering this if the a30 doesn't please. Excellent first impressions as per usual, sir.

I honestly don't see much of a reason to get these if you already have a RG280M unless the stick or metal bother you. Adam image is more than ok, everything up to PS1 works great, with some PS1 exceptions, but if you've ever tried to play FFVII on a 2.8 inch screen, you're gonna have a tough time. RG280M + RG405M seems like an ideal combo (for me). 405M for 3D games (stick on top, 4 inch screen), and 280M for 2D (with stick for arcade). You can get a like new 280M for 60 bucks right now and it's more comfortable and marginally quieter. Not to mention it has the best D pad and face buttons out of any device I've ever used. That being said, the A30 and 28XX are very cute.

I love my 280m, but this is smaller, lighter, and will play more games, so I'm getting one. Plus, I'm hoping the video player will actually play videos, instead of just freeze up like the 280m.

@@lookingforwookiecopilot RG28XX looks to be the best of the bunch. Believe me, it's tempting, but I can't personally justify another handheld. I don't typically leave the house with them.

After the recent deals where I was like ‘yes, I will get additional color ways of handhelds I already own instead of just…getting a better or at least diff one, why do you ask???’ new stuff like this is out for a little bit, but like, damn, even the 3.5” ones have buttons that I feel are too small, dunno if there’s hope for this one. Honestly, along with the GKD Pixel, I wonder about the potential for this thing to run Rockbox lol

Speaking of things that are orange and spark joy; Wendy's has Dreamsicle Frosties for a limited time. They're really good. If you haven't tried them, you should. The only thing to note is that taste-wise they're vanilla with a hint of orange instead of being unabashedly orange. Okay, on topic now, I think it's funny that the new mini handheld without a stick can play a one stick console while the mini handheld with a lone stick (Miyoo A30) apparently can't. Wow. Etymology trivia; in English the color "Orange" is named for the fruit. Before oranges the fruit made it to Britain, in our language the color was simply referred to as a red-ish yellow or a yellow-ish red.

@@GameTechTalk - Does Wendy's Canada always skip out on the seasonal flavors or is it just this orange one? On the bright side, y'all have All Dressed Chips at your stores and we don't. I had them once a long time ago. Some discount store, Big Lots probably, ended up with some bags somehow. They were sooo good.

@@GameTechTalk - I can't speak for the biggest Wendy's stores; but, at all of the Wendy's around me they repurpose the vanilla machine for the seasonal Frosty flavors. I don't even remember the last time I had a vanilla Frosty. I'm starting to miss it. Good news for Americans who don't like vanilla; according to someone on Reddit who works at Wendy's, in June we're getting some sort of berry flavored Frosty to replace Orange Dreamsicle. The person took a picture of their cash register terminal which had already been updated to account for the new flavor, so I assume it's legit. It's not strawberry though. Bummer, that. I adored their Strawberry Frosty.

My kid got super mad when they swapped out vanilla with peppermint at Christmas, but she likes the new orange flavor. Genuine teaching moment there.

I'd rather pick the Miyoo Mini A30, but I'm definitely more interested in the Miyoo Mini Flip

The longer you mess with these, the more it starts to make sense. I know right off the bat this is a 2.8 inch screen with an H700 chip. Although... it could just be Stockholm Syndrome at this point. We can call it "Shenzhen Syndrome" since that's where 99% of these ship from!
