🛠 Anatomy of Speed: 2500hp, twin turbo LS Pontiac | TECHNICALLY SPEAKING

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

With a PB of 6.20@230mph this red Pontiac GXP is the quickest and fastest LS powered car in Australia. What’s surprising is that it’s not one of those “money is no object” builds. Quite the opposite in fact, it’s a labour of love for Stuart and Josh Bennett and a small team of friends hailing from the small outback country town of Orange in NSW, Australia.
On this episode of Anatomy of a Drag Car we take a closer look at this build to see how forward thinking and clever engineering all played a part in making this one of the fastest LS cars in the world!

    Excellent video again guys, scott really is enjoying himself in these videos and I think it’s important for people to see the complexity of modern cars but also the options and automated but selectively manual things you can do all at once, it’s wild for me to think of the capability of these engine management systems already and where they might end up

    Great video, it makes me wonder how much of that stuff Victor Bray had in his car back in the day or did he just rely on sheer horsepower?

    Love Peter (Peetah) the pointer. Looks like he's got a chip out of him. Did he put his pointer somewhere he shouldn't have? Like in a running engine by a pully? 👉💥

    When you’re tuning what do you actually “tell” the computer? I mean, do you type in a target AFR in a multi dimensional map and the ecu adjusts fuel to chase your target or do you type in injector opening times? I assume you must type in timing.

  • @SloppyMechanics

    @SloppyMechanics

    3 жыл бұрын

    All 3, a good ecu has target air fuel, and sequential injection and injector phasing. You still build out an entire fueling map and then leave the safeties and trims do the rest for you in case of oh shit or whoopsie sruff

    Will CO2 wastegate control be phased out with electronic external wastegates now being avaliable?

  • @haltech

    @haltech

    That's a question for a wastegate manufacturer like Turbosmart but we don't think they will be phasing the current technology out just yet.

    @@haltech the guy pulled the aluminium lever and said it was the shift lever. Unless Stuart has changed the configuration that is the translate button I put in the car when I owned it.

  • @PROGXP2362

    15.08 it is the transbrake button (actually called a trans trigger) and not a shift lever. Also the line lock button doesn't activate the transbrake as mentioned. Line lock is used to lock the front wheels during the burnout and to assist staging a manual car.

    I always thought that too but I think they have a Holley sponsorship maybe? They plug Holley pretty regularly. I would be interested to see what Haltech could do for them though as it certainly seems serious about drag racing.
