Packy really does have a smooth natural motion and seems effortless. Hes my height so very tall and that huge power step is awesome

As a two-handed lefty myself, I definitely noticed how big my power step is like Packy. Definitely explains my ball speed compared to other two-handers that are my height/size. It also means I play much straighter and never stand anywhere past the 27 board. My friends with much smaller power steps/slower ball speed start at 30 and end up around 40 by the end of a league series.

I know their pain lol! The shorter you are, the harder it is to generate ball speed.

What is it that he does with his wrist on his backswing where he kinda retracts it back behind the ball? I've always wondered because I've seen 2 handers do this but never knew why

I believe what your referring to is him staying on the inside part of the ball instead of his hand getting to the outside in the backswing. This helps him maintain a higher axis tilt and increases rev rate and rotation potential.

When we talk power steps are we talking about the 3rd or 4th step in a 5 step approach?

Second to last step in the approach. In packys 5 step, that would be step 4.

does packy move his non dominant hand in the back swing? It looks like he moves it from his starting position but it’s hard to tell. Thank you

I don't believe so. He has very long arms so I can't imagine he has range of motion problems.

Do you know his stats? Interested to know what his ball speed. I’m a 2 hander with a 15mph average. Ball speed, debating if should use a 😊Power step to push my average to 17mph

Packy is right around 500 RPM with a normal ball speed of 18 to 19 at the pins. I've seen him throw it a bit harder however. You have to keep in mind that your speed needs to stay mostly matched with your rev rate. The higher your rev rate, the more speed you want so it doesn't force you into playing very steep angles. If your 450 or above, you will want 17 + ball speed at the pins as your average.

Sorry about that. Many of my older videos are from when I was still learning about video recording and editing. Newer videos are much better.
