He does have sons. He has at least 7 kids that are known of publicly. These 2 daughters are by his first wife who he was separated from since the 90's but they only legally divorced in 2013. He has a daughter born around 2000 from one mistress who lives in Monaco. Another mistress, who he might actually be married to now lives in Lugano Switzerland with their 4 children (all of whom have Swiss citizenship) - two young sons and twin daughters all born within the last 15 years. I used to ask my great grandfather how he grew up in World War II knowing all the atrocities that were going on in Germany he simply said well we kind of knew about them but there wasn't much we could do so we just sort of ignored it. There are an estimated 20,000 foreign fighters in Ukraine and growing by the day. Most are former soldiers from European and US/Canadian armies. But after the liberation of Bucha and those terrible scenes of slaughtered civilians, that has changed.

And what, the West imposed sanctions against the leadership of the countries that organized all these missions? Or were there other consequences? Can Bush be recognized as a war criminal? They have to sanction all the russian security services, they are the ones who keep Putin in power. Then the whole of the russian Parliament. The oligarchs only come third in terms of being influential, although they are the people looking after Putin's wealth so this hurts Putin personally . All people sanctioned must include their whole families as well, because these people are very clever at using their families to avoid sanctions.

@@lovelight9261, I don’t think that’s possible. The only thing I can think of would be to every single spy. Doing so would make them persona non-grata. Once a spy’s alias is blown they can’t really work in the field anymore. It’s well known that the vast majority of people working at embassies and consulates general are spies. The last time I can recall the US Gov’t outing spies was at the end of Obama’s second term when he expelled Russian diplomats from DC.

Yeah, the EU is basically at war with Russia, even if they don't say it with so many words. It's strange that we're still buying their gas, burn it up, and send them money. I think it's better to take the pain now and get it over with, than to drag this awkward relationship with a pariah state on and on. We'll have to surrender a bit of luxury - can't travel as much because of shortage of gasoline. But it'll also fuel innovation and desire to search other sources of energy. That urgency is not there, at the moment and I feel ashamed to see my leaders behave like this.

The way Putin conceals his wealth is similar to many billionaires, but the way Putin acquired that extreme wealth is different as is his imperative to keep it hidden. Putin wants it to be a mystery or debatable that he has any wealth at all. The irony is he's one of the wealthiest men in the world. Putin is worth between $100B and $200B, and he's different from other rich people, because as President of Russia, in case of surviving regime change, just as Yeltsin did, he needs to have a good chunk of his money off-shored, sheltered by friends, family, and in shell accounts outside of Russia, basically hidden. Bill Gates, for example, doesn't need to hide his money in that way. Before Putin came to power, Yeltsin's agreement was to step down, and he wouldn't be prosecuted for the millions he looted, and Putin was appointed acting President, four months later to be elected President. The power players in Russia at the time thought this was the most non-disruptive way to handle the problem of Yeltsin's age and public alcoholism. Of course, they didn't want it known by Russian people how corrupt the government was during the dissolution. Putin is also different in that for a long time, he perpetuated the myth that he lives modestly, a real man of the people, owns only an 830 sq. ft. apartment in St. Petersburg, totally dedicated to helping his country. Navalny blew that wide open. So, while the way Putin conceals his wealth is similar to many billionaires, the way Putin acquired his extreme wealth is different. Khodorkovsky was once the richest man in Russia, worth over $10B, and after Putin put him in prison for 10 years, seized all his assets and accounts in Russia, all because Khordorkovsky had the guts to speak about corruption in Putin's government, while not fully realizing Putin was a big part of that corruption, Khordorkovsky was released and fled to England, with only $300M to his name.

All these Oligarchs in Russia and Putin’s daughters, should never be allowed in a western country again. No longer allowed to own homes, shop, or have yachts in top resorts around the world will hurt.

After losing all those soldiers, tanks and armored vehicles his army is maybe 5th or 6th. Bottom line is that your estimates of Putin and Russia are what's delusional. Ukraine is kicking Russia's ass. Can you imagine how embarrassing it must be for Russia and Putin to see Ukraine winning this war with pretty much, ak47's, molotov cocktails and stingers and javelins? This has got to be embarrassing for you. You almost sound like you're butt hurt! I mean your army is afraid to fight American trained Ukrainian soldiers. So Russian troops rape, torture, execute, loot city's with civilians in them. Wow, so brave is the Russian military. Try some of that in a NATO country. You won't last 10 minutes.
