On the first Wednesday of May, Blue Earth County's outdoor warning siren system failed to sound for the regular test at 1 PM. The county immediately set out to find the issue, and scheduled a test for the proceeding Friday at 2 PM to try the test again county-wide. Despite North Mankato being in Nicollet County, they are controlled by Blue Earth County, and thus they were included. They ended up being a little late, but sirens blared across the county as planned for a full three minutes about five after. Blue Earth County's normal test is one minute of each signal plus a voice message in North Mankato, so it was interesting hearing them run the tornado function.
