“I’m sorry, Padmè. I’m sorry. I feel lost. It’s like I’m in free fall, free fall in the dark, and I don’t know where I’ll be when I land.” This is another extract from the novel, and man, his story’s even sadder in this version, because you realize how little agency he truly had in his last few days as Anakin. Torn apart by a hurricane of conflicting duties and emotions, he acted on impulse out of exhaustion and fear, fell prey to a monster’s manipulation, and the first moment he could actually calm down and think rationally was also the moment when he realized he was trapped in a living hell for the rest of his days.

Anakins story is so tragic. I love everything about the Skywalker family and I always hoped of an alternative ending where Anakin doesn't get consumed by the dark aside and He and Padme both raised their children together. But that's not going to happen! I'm so sad and crying. 😭😭

Mine too....Of all till 2021 this one the favourite. The root of Vader's anger was his love for Padme. And this is so intense I feel dragged into their story, trapped their everytime I see it again. I really wish someone could answer me why on the way to grave Padme's belly had s bulge. I believe Palpatine could have saved Padme but he didn't. She was the biggest threat to Sith. She from the very beginning knew the game but couldn't convince people. I wish George Lucas brings more light to the story by showing what happened to Padme and Anakin after Mustafar...She was alive after that for months. What happened then. Such a lovestory, I am so so so fond of them . Hayden and Natalie are a heaven made couple. Thanks to George Lucas for that🙏. Please bring them back. Yoda lived for 900 yrs. Why can't Vader meet Padme. Please make it possible....a movie on Vader's pain for Padme

Why is this so intense? Definitely read the Revenge of the Sith novelization if you haven't. Stover does an amazing job of really expanding on the characters mentalities (particularly Anikan's). It really gives a greater appreciation for the prequels.

I normally do not listen to audiobooks, but I love this Matthew Stover's book so much that I even got an audio version as well. And seeing this audio version with the moments from the movie? Chilling and sad.

wow that narration. Anakin was in a living hell for the rest of his days and while there were other forces at work to make him turn he himself is still to blame as well. He had a choice but didint take it.

That *LOOK* on his face at 1:53 "you were thinking about yourself!"

That was deep! I pity Anakin even more now.

I love the ROTS novelization so much as well, and this part...honestly, it felt like a thousand Stormtroopers were stumping on my heart while reading it, and seeing it re-enacted with the film clips just brings the pain back! This part of the novelization left me saddened, and speechless. The book really is good at putting you in all the characters shoes. And the part at end of this part, where it states, “ the Shadow is all you have left.” That part made want to cry and vomit. Just thinking of this nightmare of a situation Anakin is in, still gives me both tears and shudders. Just dang!💔🥲

anakinspadme //character break again // I really hope you see this, cause I'm your biggest fan, I absolutely Love your Video's, this particular Video breaks my Heart all over again, I just want you to know that you did a fantastic job... Anakin and Padme Love is A Love that Dreamers like me look for, but realize that it only exists in the movies; ( So I find myself, just blending in with the rest of the world, when in reality, all I want to do is grab my lightsaber, hook it to my belt Clip, go to Padme, and look into her eyes, and confess my undying Love all over again. As always, Your Faithful Anakin. I'm yours.

Probably the most well written part of the novel. It comes off as very C.S. Lewis, reminds me of his descriptions of Hell in The Great Divorce. Anakin is in Hell, and its true nature is isolation. He is consumed by his own loneliness. Anakin must live with the guilt that he murdered the one he loved most, ended his chances of having a family again, and ended all he held dear. Now that he has nothing left to live for he gives complete reign to his worst impulses and lets his true darkness take over.

I've always thought that Anakin would have left with her, was thinking of going with her- but then Obi Wan chose exactly the wrong moment to step out of her shuttle. That the paranoia caused by the Dark Side kicked in and in a moment of madness he suspected them of conspiring against them, maybe even thought they were having an affair. That the two people he loved most had betrayed him. But I've not read the audiobook (I am going to get it!!!) and that part about thinking of yourself makes sense. Anakin was so powerless all his life, and when finally power was offered to him, it drove him mad and made him do something he would never have done.

This left me in shock, chilled, mouth agape. This is so *stunning.* I've seen people use the ROTS novelisation in vids before, but never to this extent, and it just *blew me away.* It tortured me, tbh. AMAZING edit.

Wow... Darling, I can't stand this. This part in the book was the one I started to understand Anakin. Understand how he must have felt all the time. In the movie I just didn't recognize the reasons that made him do all those things, so I cried while I was reading the book because I finally got it and stopped hating him for what he's done. But this video, OMG, very Emotional, I actually came to tears, I get so emotional when it comes to Anakin and Padme, I can't even sit When the part in movie, Padme's plea. oh my lord i'm speechless..... this gave me chills. It is so beautiful & heartbreaking & wow... I really don't know what to say haha xD This is like.. absolute perfection gosh! Why do you break my heart so?! I've read the RotS novelisation but it was a couple of years ago so I don't really remember it, but I love how you integrated the novelisation audio with the dialogue from the movie. Gahahaha this hurts my heart! Honestly I have this head cannon that everything from the end of revenge of the sith to the end of rise of skywalker is just all a bad dream Anakin is having and that in reality he never turned to the dark side and he and Padme raised Luke and Leia together. Cuz what really happened is too sad to be real 😭😭
