I just realized that my beloved M60 was the only AFV in the US Army who fielded the M85 50 cal. Our tankers used the M85, and scouts used the M2. Firing those two weapon systems next to each other really highlights the difference in rate of fire. The M85 spits out rounds at almost double the rate. That high ROF is fun, but when you gotta hump your own ammo...
Well done. I appreciate the speed information is given and the focus on badassary! Edited like a true pro!

It is cool... Not sure how this popped up in my KZread random videos?!
I re-enlisted in 2001 to be an avenger crew member, but after a snafu at MEPS I ended up infantry. Mind you, being light infantry was the best thing that could have happened because I ended up with two Purple Hearts and fully medically retired. The VA even covered my school expenses through the Vocational Rehabilitation program… But all always have a little room in my heart for the avenger systems because they’re a cool little platform.

I hope you're in good health then. Infantry service is a serious strain on your back and your knees apart from anything else that can happen. Are you seriously handicapped, or can you work a regular job and enjoy life? Anyhow I am not surprised young people are hesitant to join the military when you can end up in a completely different role than the one you've enlisted for.
We had the Avenger ADA systems guarding FOB Danger/Speicher in Tikrit (Speicher moved later and the old speicher became Ironhorse) back in 2003. They were also set up at Anaconda/Balad and VBC. They are a good weapon system. The M6 Linebacker was also with us during our push in 2003 and That system started replacing the Avengers. Now, the M-SHORAD is going to replace the Avenger system as the main ADA system for the Army (the M6 Linebacker was retired in 2006). The Avenger system is being pushed to the National Guard and Host Nations. What the Avenger can do, The M-SHORAD does as well with the Caveat that it has a 30mm gun instead of the .50 Cal and It is also equipped with the HELLFIRE missle which has a range of 11KM.

Anything with the stinger is good, its got a proven track record in the middle east and in ukraine. its one of those weapons that are timeless, the military has no plans of retiring it and they don't have good reason too, its a relatively cheap weapon(compared to bigger sams) and effective at doing its job

Actually thats incorrect. the Avenger is being replaced with another ADA system (more than likely M-SHORAD Stryker). It was sad that they retired the linebacker when that vehicle was heavily armored compared to the Avenger even though it only had 1 stinger pod. However, It had a MANPADS team in the back of the linebacker that could've deployed in a moments notice. Yes, the Avenger was highly mobile due to being able to be sling loaded in country and flown in C-17's tied down. The Avenger is being sent to Host Nation countries and being pushed to the National Guard as the M-SHORAD is taking its place.

This along with the light 105mm should be mounted on the m113 chasis ,how is it that the hummer can get these systems but the m113 can't when the 113 can handle the weight and functions of these systems better. The light 105mm on the m113 can supplement Arty Brigades by adding a rapid deployable type indirect fires for ICB's being able to provide quick scalable artillery support across a battlefield/battle space

M113 is severely outdated and having a 105 MM gun the M113 would not be feasible. You might be talking about the M8 Buford which never came to fruition and wasnt based on the M113 Chassis but did have a 105 MM gun. as of last year the Buford itself was pulled in favor of the Griffin 2 Light tank.
